Adrien arrived at the room hours later, accompanied by Kieran and little other fanfare.

He looked as exhausted and run down as she always felt returning from the negotiations.

However, his lips curved up into a small smile as his violet eyes met hers. All the stress he carried on his shoulders seemed to melt away in his smile. 

He looked younger to her, even.

It made her heart flutter.

"The summit is finished. We have reached agreements to allow you to travel the lands freely."

She couldn't help but return a smile. "You really got them to agree to that?"

He inclined his head in a small nod.

"As I said. None of them truly wished to extend this summit any longer. Eventually, their bluffing was forced to back down. And Verilonia remains the kingdom that houses the Keybearer - we are also the nation that has guaranteed the best conditions for the Keybearer."

He drew in a breath and continued to smile as he spoke.
