Chapitre 19: The Conversation With My Father

Matilda's POV:

I knew that Alpha Baron would be here tonight. Although I felt there was a high probability that he wouldn't show up, I still saw him huddling in the corner drinking.

Though I didn't want to admit that I was the reason he had been drinking all night, he was so aggressive and kept staring at me that I didn't have any reason to convince myself otherwise.

He was looking at me, and he was angry because of me.

I shouldn't have felt anything special, but I felt a shameful sense of excitement and pride at that moment. How could I have such a strange thought?

Gray hugged me, and as if sensing something was amiss, he looked down at me and asked, "What's wrong?"

I was a little embarrassed by the hug, but to get Alpha Baron to give up on me completely, I pretended to be intimately close to Gray and even offered to pour him a drink and kiss him. I did this while secretly observing Baron's reaction.
