Chapitre 9: Hesitation

Matilda's POV:

I ran into the woods without thinking. I shouldn't have been so impulsive. A rational conversation with my father might have led to a better result.

However, the pain of a child being abandoned by his father couldn't be convinced with just rational thought. I hated him to death. I hated him to death for making me a strong warrior, only to abandon me in the end.

I finally stopped in a secluded part of the forest. Tears flowed down my cheeks and into my mouth. I had not cried for a long time. Only today did I know that tears tasted so bitter.

However, the fire in my heart was burning more and more vigorously. It felt impossible for me to go to the Valet Pack! I would never become a commodity for my father to atone for his sins. I had my thoughts. I was a living person!

My father had always been my strong support throughout my life. I felt very safe with him by my side. This was the first time he had betrayed me.
