At this moment, Xia Yiwei walked into the room and looked around, "Is there only one makeup chair?"
Indeed, there was only one makeup chair in the room since this was a private makeup room and there were only two models today.
Kelly looked over and smiled politely, "Yes, Ms. Xia. I am the only makeup and hair artist here today."
The door closed. Xia Yiwei's smile disappeared as she stepped forward and set her bag down on the table, "Well then, Kelly. You should know who's makeup to do first."
Kelly had obviously worked with Xia Yiwei before and knew of her background, and she looked between the two models, clearly feeling the tension between them.
"Well. . ."
"Kelly, I need to get my hair done. Eric is waiting to start warming up," Xu Anyi said calmly, looking straight into the mirror.
Kelly pressed her lips together as she looked towards Xia Yiwei, who raised an eyebrow dangerously, "Ms. Xu did come first. . ." Her voice slowly died down.
"Kelly, you should know who is the big deal here, and who is just a temporary model who squeezed her way into here. Who do you think should get their makeup done first?"
Xu Anyi turned around upon hearing this and raised an eyebrow, "If you are such a big deal, why don't you carry a makeup artist around with you?"
"You-" Xia Yiwei stepped forward, but she quickly stopped herself when there was a knock at the door.
The manager stepped in and scanned the people in the room, "Eric is finished and is ready for a model to start taking her individual shots. Is anyone ready?"
Xia Yiwei turned around and put on a pitiful expression, ready to start complaining, "I-"
But before she could even say another word, Xu Anyi cut in first, "My makeup is finished, I just need to get my hair done and I will be ready."
The manager looked toward Xu Anyi and nodded, "Good. Get your hair done quickly."
"But-" Xia Yiwei began, but the manager turned around and left the room before she could say anything more.
With the manager's words, there was nothing Xia Yiwei could say now, and she angrily sat down on the couch, crossing her legs together as she glared at Xu Anyi while she got her hair done.
Her hair did not take long either as Kelly just straightened it quickly, and then she went out to find Eric standing in front of the camera impatiently.
"I'm here," she exclaimed as she ran over. Eric looked at her and frowned slightly when she saw her clothes.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't change yet."
"No need, let me first get an idea of you in front of the camera. You're a new model, right?"
Xu Anyi nodded.
"Have you done any other shoots before?"
Xu Anyi shook her head.
Eric frowned upon hearing this, and he looked over at the manager, who looked away without saying anything. How did Design hire a complete newbie? Eric furrowed his eyebrows together as he remembered speaking with the manager earlier, and the manager told him that this new model had been assigned by someone else.
If that was the case, she probably wouldn't be very professional. . . Eric sighed as his expression darkened. He will just have to hope that the other more experienced model would save this shoot.
Xu Anyi positioned herself in front of the camera and looked at the backdrop behind her. The backdrop was a large plain with many beautiful flowers on the ground, and the lighting shone onto it to make it look like it was real.
Since it was a spring set, it was natural to use nature as the background for the shoot.
"Just move around and do some poses, I just want to find the best angle for you and get an idea of the shoot," he said as he held the camera up to his eye. When he saw how stiffly she was standing there, he frowned, "You know how to do that, right?"
Xu Anyi nodded.
"Okay then, start."
Right after he said the word 'start', Xu Anyi closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Then, upon opening them again, her gaze was direct and confident as she looked into the camera, but at the same time, her eyes looked completely clear, like they had never seen anything dirty in the world.
Even though she was wearing a simple black shirt and jeans, the light seemed to draw onto her as she turned her head around, staying in each pose for a couple of seconds.
Eric paused for a second as he looked into the camera and then looked up, wondering if what he had seen through the lens had been an illusion.
However, when he looked in real life, he saw the same breathtaking sight.
Her expressions and poses were natural yet beautiful, and even without simple clothes on, she seemed to draw attention to what she was wearing. Her movements accentuated her long and slender figure, and her perfect proportions made the clothes look beautiful.
"Yes, yes, perfect," Eric repeated as he took several pictures, completely forgetting that this was just a warm-up. He did not even have to search for the perfect angle, because she seemed to look good in every angle she posed in, and she had a clever way of positioning her body and face so that it looked natural yet beautiful.
"Good! Yes, stay there for one more second!"
The shoot lasted almost five minutes before Eric stopped, tired from trying to catch all her poses. He looked up from his camera and looked back at the pictures, and he continued to nod his head.
"This is amazing! Is this really your first time modeling?"
Xu Anyi smiled when she saw how pleased he looked, and she relaxed slightly, "Yes, but I do like taking pictures."
Eric's smile widened as he placed the camera down and clapped his hands together, "Is the other model ready?"
Xia Yiwei walked over after just finishing her hair, which had been curled and put up into a half ponytail, with a large white bow positioned center in the back.
"Okay, let me take a look at you," Eric said, grabbing his camera again as he got ready excitedly. If that new model was so amazing, this professional model must be even better!
He seemed to be inspired again and his excitement grew as Xia Yiwei stepped in front of the camera, the white dress flowing slightly and fitting the background very well.
"You can start moving."
Xu Anyi stood to the side to watch as she crossed her arms together, narrowing her eyes.
Xia Yiwei began posing, placing one hand on her hip as she looked straight into the camera. After a few seconds, the smile on Eric's face had completely disappeared as his finger clicking the camera slowed down.
He looked up at the model, "Please take this shoot seriously even if it is a warm up."
Xia Yiwei looked slightly surprised as she smiled, "I am."
Eric frowned slightly and nodded as he looked into the camera again.
Xia Yiwei began posing quicker as she changed from one pose to the next. All of her poses were stereotypical positions you would see in magazines, and it looked slightly stiff as she moved her limbs around.
After a minute, Eric looked up from his camera and put it away with a frown, "Go change into the clothes for the shoot."
Perhaps she will be better when they are actually starting the shoot. . .
Xia Yiwei smiled and quickly walked back into the makeup room, where two dresses had been hung up.
"These are the first two dresses."
The dress on the left was a long white picnic dress that reached the ankles and flowed out from the top. There were thin straps that were tied at the back into bowties, and the back of the dress was slightly bare as the upper half of the back would be revealed when wearing it, with only the straps keeping it up.
The other dress was black, and it was a short dress with straps of the same style. However, this dress was different in that it was tighter and hugged the curves of the person who wore it.
"The white dress is yours, Ms. Xu, and the black dress is yours, Ms. Xia." The worker said.
Xia Yiwei's eyes narrowed as she looked between the two dresses, deep in thought.
As Xu Anyi was about to grab onto the white dress, Xia Yiwei suddenly grabbed onto her arm, stopping her, "No. I want the white dress."
