Chapitre 63: Chapter 62: Poison and Cure
"Esteemed Gold-rank adventurers, I, Lanzwi Feuward Zengen, the lord of Ankaji implore you to help us in this precarious situation my dukedom is facing," the King of Ankaji requested bowing his head.

"You know, when we got here, I didn't think we would immediately get dragged into trouble," Shizuku whispered.

Flashback
Reaching the entrance of Ankaji, we were asked to show our identification, and complying with that we handed our status cards.
The guard then noticed the golden emblem of the guild and froze, rubbing his eyes to see if he was hallucinating or not. After rubbing his eyes and seeing the golden emblem still there he was overjoyed.
The other guard who was standing with him, looked at him with confusion noticing his friend's expression changing so much. The second guard wondered [Oh no, is he also sick.]
Thinking that he called out to his frozen friend," Oi, are you feeling sick as well," the second guard asked.
Snapping from his daze he handed back the status cards, "Please wait here," saying that, he ran to the guardhouse.
Shea and others seeing him run frantically were confused. While Rihito uses his <Mana Sense> and scans the whole Ankaji, he has an idea of what will happen from there.
[So, what did you find.] Hajime used <Telepathy> and asked.
[It seems they are going through some kind of mana sickness and are in urgent need of help.]
Hajime mentally nodded [I see, so noticing the golden emblem from the guild, that guy ran to inform his superiors.] He guessed.
[Precisely] We ended our conversation there and waited.
A few minutes later the guard came back running and invited us inside with respect.
Seeing the guard so tense and act flatteringly everyone felt something was wrong, but noticing Hajime and Rihito were not faced with this situation they followed along. From there a luxurious carriage took us to the palace.

"Please help us," a young man who was introduced as the crown prince Bize Feuward Zengen pleaded.
"Yeah, before that can Your Majesty explain to us what exactly going on," I asked wanting to know the whole story.
"Yes, let me explain." The king then started talking about how suddenly about two days ago, one after another the people started to feel sick and collapse.
"At first, we thought it was normal sickness, but soon the number of sick people started to increase, in a day it increased to over 3000 and the number kept going up."
"After taking them to the doctor we found they were suffering from mana overload. It's a condition where someone accumulates too much mana in their body and is unable to release it, in result causing pain and bleeding in the body. If it's not cured quickly the afflicted will die in about a week's time."
"So please help us," this time, with The King, the entire court bowed their head.
"..."
Seeing them bow their head Shizuku and Shea looked at Rihito, while Kaori looked at Hajime. As for Tohru, Yue and Tio, they were waiting for Hajime and Rihito to make their decision.
"Papa, Big Brother, can you help them…" Myu asked looking at us with an expecting eyes.
Noticing her pure gaze with absolute belief that I could help them, there was only one answer I could say. It's not like I would have rejected the request.
I then looked back at the King. "Fine, we will help but do you know exactly how this disease spreading," I asked just to see if they knew about the water contamination.
The king with a grimaced face said, "We don…"
"My King!"
Just then someone hurriedly entered the throne room and bowed before the king.
"My king, I have urgent news, we have finally found the cause of the disease."
King Lanzwi, seeing his subordinates suddenly barging in was displeased for a moment, but after listening to him, he decided not to punish him.
He then looked at the Adventurer, "If you don't mind…"
Rihito understood what the king wanted to say and responded, "It's fine don't worry. It seems like he has urgent news."
King Lanzwi, upon seeing the esteemed gold rank was not dissatisfied with the situation, sighed in relief. He looked at his subordinate.
"Tell me what the cause of the disease is," King Lanzwi ordered.
"My king it's the water, we have found a foreign substance in the water. It's likely the cause of this disease."
Listening to his subordinate King Lanzwi's eyes widened, "What! But how, where were the guards when this happened? What about the artefact? Have they detected nothing," he lost his cool. He then took a deep breath and controlled himself. He can't lose his cool, not now when his people need him the most.
"My king that's not all, we have also found the cure for this disease," the subordinate said.
King Lanzwi stood up from his throne and asked, "Tell me what it is."
"It's Stillstone, my king. Currently, we are using powdered Stillstone and mixing it with the water to continue the treatment, which is working. But."
The subordinate grimaced, "The disease is spreading faster than we predicted, we can't keep up with it, and also our supply of Stillstone is about to end. My king we need to send some people to get more Stillstone or we won't last long."

Rihito, seeing those innocent puppy dog eyes almost gave in [Ugh… too much cuteness.] Still, somehow, he restrained himself.
"Myu, this is not a place to swim. The water here is bad so don't go near, Ok?" I said to Myu.
Tilting her head Myu questioned, "Bad water? I see. I won't go near, then," Myu nodded.
"Alright, you should go to the big sisters."
"Ok," she then stood near Shea, Shizuku and Tohru.
The crown prince Bize accompanying us worriedly asked, "Rihito dono can you really clean the Reservoir without any help."
"Yeah, don't worry about it," responding to him I looked at Tohru.
"Tohru use your purification."
"Yes," nodding to me she stood near the reservoir. She then plunged her hands in the water and used <Purification>.
While she did that, I used <Archmage> to observe the thing that released the poison.
At the bottom of this reservoir, there was a purple blob of slime secreting the poison in the water. [Let's see what will you do.]
As soon as Tohru plunged her hand, it shone white, indicating activation of the skill. Then slowly the light of purification started to spread in the water making the water glow and creating a beautiful sight.
"Wow~ it looks so pretty, Big sister Tohru is awesome~," Myu seeing the spectacle praised.
"Yes, this quite the sight," Shizuku agreed.
Shea nodded holding Myu.
Tohru hearing the praise smiled and decided to increase the power, increasing the glow.
Rihito noticed that when the slime was exposed to the light of <Purification>, it initially squirmed and then quickly moved away as if it had sensed something dangerous. It hid under some rocks to avoid the light, and from there it secreted more poison. However, when Tohru intensified the Purification light, the slime unable to avoid the light came out to the surface.
The large purple slime came out of the water and started to float on the water releasing a gurgling sound.
Shea seeing the monster hid Myu behind her and pulled out Drucken ready to defend.
Shizuku also pulled out her Katana ready to draw the blade.
The crown prince Bize saw the large purple slime monster and asked in horror, "Rihito dono, is that the monster causing the disease?" He was shaken to see a monster like this hiding in the reservoir.
"Yes, it is."
Bize heard Rihito and gulp, "How did it end up here, a monster of this size shouldn't be able to get past the barrier." he was horrified.
"If you want my opinion, my guess is it has a skill that allows it to bypass the barrier."
Bize horrified said, "How can a monster like this exist? This slime shouldn't have such ability."
"It's obvious, there are demons behind this," Rihito without looking at him said in a calm tone.
"I see," Bize felt a chill down his spine. He felt they were lucky this time; demons only spread a curable disease. But what would have happened if, instead of this disease, they had used a potent poison? They would have been utterly helpless and unable to do anything but die. Just thinking about that gives him shivers.

Slime squirmed on the water and sent tentacles to attack us.
Rihito wanted to finish it off in one attack and was ready to launch a shockwave and obliterate the slime. His eyes were staring down at the core of the slime, which was shifting and changing its position.
"Master, can I deal with it," Tohru asked.
Stopping, I looked at her, "You sure." I asked just to make sure.
"Yes," Tohru smiled with absolute confidence.
"Then knock yourself out." I relaxed my stance.
Tohru looked at the incoming tentacle reaching out to capture her, but before the tentacle could grab her, she disappeared with extreme speed, creating a crater where she stood, and appeared near Slime's body, with her wings open for everyone to see.
She then sent the slime flying upward before it could react. The helpless slime shot up like a bullet, easily passing through the barrier protecting the Dukedom. Tohru followed along, stopping outside the barrier and began charging a breath.
"She is learning," Rihito with a smile said while observing the whole thing.
Shizuku questioningly asked, "What do you mean by learning?"
"If it were Tohru from a few days ago, she would have used her breath directly, which would have destroyed the slime with the reservoir and half of the kingdom, as well as the barrier protecting the Dukedom."
"..."
"..."
Shizuku was dumbfounded hearing that, "you serious," she asked.
"Hahaha… yeah, I am," Rihito laugh seeing Shizuku speechless.
Bize listened as I spoke, then paled and grabbed my shoulder. "R-rihito dono! You must ensure that what you just said doesn't happen. If not, our Dukedom will be destroyed," he said, shaking me back and forth.
"Calm down, as I said, it would have happened if it was a while back. She will not do that, not while I am here," Rihito said looking up.
Tohru charging her breath released it at the slime.
"Booom!!"
An azure blue-coloured breath was fired straight upwards completely vanquishing the slime, and creating a fantastic fire show, visible for the whole Dukedom to see.
"So pretty," Myu seeing the fireworks said with sparkling eyes.
"..."
