Chapitre 12: Chapter 12

I think it's been a few minutes since I arrived on this island. The aurora was clearly visible above my head, lightning up the night sky.

I have noticed that there is no snow on this island. As the sky was just above this place, shouldn't there be snow just like outside? But there was none. Which further mystifies this place.

I was pondering myself as I walked forward. There were beautiful, shining plants and herbs on either side of mine.

"What kind of species are they? So beautiful and mystical." I muttered.

Suddenly an intriguing feeling took over me.

I tried to experiment with something. So I bent over to loosen my laces and took the boots off my legs. Following that, I took off my socks.

I stepped onto the ground barefoot, and a warm sensation filled my body.

"So warm!..." I exclaimed softly.

After suffering in the cold for so long, this was like stepping into heaven to me. Or is this place heaven? No, of course, it's not. .....Maybe??

"Hmmm~ Should I just stay here?"

Hehe* I chuckled lightly.

'Nah~ Can't do that. Our sweet villainess will be arriving soon. And as her to-be husband, it will be highly inconsiderate of me.' I mused inwardly, while I strolled forward. There was no tiredness, no fatigue. I was so in bliss.

After walking further on the island, I saw a glimpse of another outlandish thing.

"...A tomb?"

It was a tomb. Or precisely something that looks like a tomb. I really don't know. Looking at it, it seems to be a miniature version of a tomb?

Inspecting from afar I noticed there was something like a podium in there. And some brightly glowing object on it.

"Should I go there? It somehow feels ominous though." I muttered.

Honestly, the question is not about acting brave or not. Somebody may say, why do I always act like a goofball? But that's not true. In given situations, I can act bravely without a doubt. Believe me, I really can. ( Author: Nope, I don't believe you, bro.)

But there is a stark contrast between being brave and being foolish. Acting foolishly will get me nowhere.

( A: Like hell dude, you were clearly acting like a goofball in the last chapter.)

- No, I did not.

( A : Yes, you did.)

- No, I did not.

( A: Yes, you f*cking did.)

- Shut the f*ck up dude. This is my story. Get the hell outta here."

( Author left the chat.)

Haaa~ Damn that annoying fellow always getting into other people's business.

Anyway, where was I? Oh... yeah!

I looked at that podium and shook my head,

Well, I have already come this far, there is no backing down.

( A: What the hell dude? What happened to your cautiousness?)

- GET OUTT!!

[ *The MC kicked the Author out of the chat.]

Haa…haa….haa… huuu~

Calming myself after my sudden outburst, I walked toward the podium.

Upon reaching there, I can see what that glowing object is. Or accurately, what the objects were. Yes, there are two.

One of them was glowing and the other was not. The one not glowing was a deep blue colored orb and the one glowing was a flower seemingly made out of ice crystal.

The crystal flower was so bright that it completely hid that orb in its glow.

"That's….."

'Was that the flower?' I thought. 'No, I don't think so. I was told that it was a real flower not made of crystal.'

It is really intriguing. What will happen if I get this flower? Will I get some super insane ability or something? Or will this be the biggest mistake I will make?

"I don't know." This is exciting.

'What will you do dear Nick?' For the first time after coming to this world, I addressed myself with my previous name. I was so excited.

I walked over to the glowing flower. It was radiating a mild chilling aura.

I touched it to pick it up. Then it happened. A chill ran through my back. My hand, which touched the flower, started covering in ice. And within seconds, the ice spread and covered my entire body, freezing it. I didn't even get the time to understand what was happening.

My entire body was frozen solid, just like an ice sculpture in that place. But my consciousness didn't fade.

'WHAT THE HELL!!?'
