Chapitre 31: Gender Equality

(3rd Person POV)
In a hospital,
Wolf Keum who had several injuries and bruises due to a brutal beating by Felix was lying in the hospital.
He had fractures in both of his hands and. in a leg. He as well as all the other patients in this fight would not sustain any permanent damage and would be able to recover in a month or two.
When Wolf woke up, the white and clean environment of the hospital greeted his eyes. He was momentarily perplexed about why he was in a hospital but then the memories of that incident flooded his mind.
A plethora of emotions emerged on his face...
Fury that a person like Gray Yeon was able to beat him up...
Rage at Jared Sun on double-crossing him...
Regret for messing with the Eunjang crew...
But the most prominent emotion that surfaced was fear... Wolf had a pale face on remembering how he was mauled to state in which he felt that death was much better...
Even the beating by Donald Na felt less scary for him... Donald Na wanted to take Wolf as his subordinate so he might have gone easy on him.
But Felix had no such thoughts. Felix only felt incensed on seeing his friend hurt and his thought process at that time was just to slaughter every person involved...
Wolf felt a chill on his back when he remembered every punch and kick, the pain he felt...
It was extremely demoralizing for a person like Wolf who had great pride and arrogance in his fighting ability...
Wolf was more vexed by the fact that a person like Gray Yeon was able to beat him. Wolf knew if not for his lackeys, he would have lost the fight with Gray easily...
The flow of thoughts of Wolf was broken by the sound of footsteps.
He expected it to be a hospital worker but Donald Na and Kingsley Kwan visiting him were unexpected as well as unsettling.
Donald Na serenely walked in strides and sat on the chair that Kingsley brought for him.
Donald Na harshly said, "Wolf, you fucker. You were one of the bastards I favoured but how could you not rein in your men, huh? Because of your stupidity, our business could have been exposed!"
Wolf didn't reply and looked down in shame.
"And on top of that, you and your gang were also beaten up by The Falcon, weren't you?"
Still no response...
Donald then curiously asked, "Was he strong?"
Wolf nodded slowly.
"Stronger than even Jake Ji?"
Wolf also nodded again, though hesitatingly now.
"Stronger than me?"
An awkward silence followed that question...

Rowan, Eugene, Gerard, Stephen and Felix were walking together and joking around while going to the hospital to visit Gray.
When suddenly Rowan caught sight of a girl and stopped momentarily...
Felix looked at Rowan and asked," What? Who is she, Rowan?"
Rowan then said heavily, "Nah, she's not worth my time."
Felix's expression turned serious on witnessing Rowan not behaving in his usual goofy way.
"Rowan... Tell me, what happened?"
Rowan hesitated for a second and revealed the story behind it.

When the story was concluded, all of them had furious expressions except Felix who had a smiling face.
Stephen was boiling with rage but due to his innate kind nature, he just looked at her with extreme hostility. All of them just didn't have it in them to beat a girl.
Felix then pleasantly said, " Oh C'mon guys. I think we should leave her. It's not like she exactly understood what was happening. Life is all about second chances... You guys go on for a bit, I have to call Gogo(Alex) and Ben to know if they will meet up with us at the hospital."
All of them felt extremely unsettled looking at Felix who usually got extremely angry when his friends were hurt, behaving eccentrically but they just followed this and went along the way as Felix brought his mobile out of his pocket.
As soon as they turned a corner, Felix's expression turned sinister as he dashed into the alley and punched the girl in the stomach.
The girl keeled over as she had never experienced that much force.
She looked in an upward direction and saw Felix looming over her.
Felix grabbed her by her hair and slammed her face onto the wall.
"Did you expect me to leave you alone? You bitch."
She tried to say something which came out as "S-Sorry...Please spa- m-me."
"Why should I spare you, huh? This is the 21st century... The century of gender equality. You should have thought of this before you dabbled into dirty work."
As he spat that out at her maliciously, he grabbed one of her fingers and folded it in an awkward position.
She screamed out in pain but her voice was blocked by a hand on her mouth.
Felix signalled silence by keeping a finger on his mouth.
Then four sounds of crunches were heard and tears flowed down her face.
After Felix was sure that she would not scream, he took his hand from her mouth and wiped it with a handkerchief.
He said tauntingly to her, " I should sanitize my hand properly. The saliva of a bitch might make me sick."
(A/N: Fun Fact - You can get infected by a dog's saliva. Though, chances are low.)
"Anyway, I am letting you go. Stop this shit. Do something better or you will go down such a deep spiral that you won't ever be able to come out of that abyss."
She looked at him with fear and scepticism. But she was in no condition to question his favour...
But as soon as her head got turned.
A kick by Felix smashed her head onto the wall.
"Haha, stupid. Why will I leave you alone with just this much? People need to feel the consequences of their actions."
Then Felix took the mobile phone from her bag and called the same hospital he called a few days ago to send an ambulance for an injured and passed-out girl.

.
A few hours later, The nurses in the hospital were gossiping together.
"Hey, did you hear about the girl who came in with a head injury and fingers broken?"
"Yeah, but one thing is weird. Why are so many people entering our hospital with their fingers broken?"
"I don't know. The word around is that these are the doings of a gang."
"A gang? But do these gangs have a finger fetish or something? Why do they always target the fingers?"
"Hmm...Suspicious isn't it? Is the name of this gang a finger fetish gang?"
"Yeah, I also think so."
Then another nurse entered a break room and asked them what they were chatting about.
They told the connections they linked to her and this rumour got passed on...
In the next few days, the rumour about a finger-fetish gang was rampant in the schools and for some reason, Felix kept sneezing.
(A/N: It is a Korean superstition that if you sneeze, then someone is talking about you.)

After the rumours about the finger-fetish gang died down, there was a new change in the rankings which led to several discussions taking place between students about a new entree to the rankings and the rise of The Falcon.
