Chapitre 12: progress

It has been three months—or maybe more; I really couldn't tell you. I have been so immersed in magic, meditation, and purifying nature that I lost track of time. I have learned many things; intuitive aptitude is a remarkable talent. It took me three months to learn, practice, and perfect what takes a normal wizard 7 to 10 years to master, depending on their aptitude and dedication. My favorite subjects are charms and transfiguration, with a particular love for transfiguration. What transfiguration does is essentially use the reality aspect of wizard magic to influence an object in any way the caster deems possible.

There were some glaring errors that my grimoire caught in the theory and laws of transfiguration, but I just shelved them to look into later. I also started to use the mental exercises written by Ravenclaw. Let me tell you, although they are difficult—especially the illogical side—for most, they are very rewarding. The illogical side of the exercises is meant to train a wizard to think that everything is possible.

Now here's the kicker: most humans don't believe in something illogical. While they can fantasize about something unreal, they struggle with grasping the concept of the illogical. Do you want to know what's so different about me? I've been to the void and witnessed the illogical side, so to me, it was like, "Eh, I've seen better."

If you're wondering how the exercises work, well, there are two small magically enchanted pictures in the book that you must focus on with your undivided attention. The logical side is straightforward—it shows you different things and asks you to come up with a logical and reasonable explanation. It also times you, so you have to think fast. The illogical side requires you to look at a picture, after which you find yourself jumbled in gibberish that seems crazy and illogical. You have to match the scene's level of gibberish to progress or move up. It was a truly great experience.

For now, though, I can only call myself a master in one topic: runes. I studied and mastered all seven available Runic languages, and I can now perfectly understand the meaning of anything written in any of these languages. I believe I can comprehend whatever Dumbledore did in that room, and I'm going to do just that tonight. But first, I need to prepare. If you're wondering what I need to prepare, then don't, because my preparation just involves sleeping. I haven't slept more than two to three hours in months. My time has been spent practicing and modifying any spell I could find. It was enjoyable and great, but I really want to sleep—so I'm going to.

It was a time well spent. Sleeping for a long time just because you can has a very different kind of pleasure. Anyway, it's time to see what kind of mess Dumbledore has cooked up.

Arriving in front of an abandoned room that is, by the way, plastered with different variations of "Notice-Me-Not" charms, attention aversion wards, and basically every kind of magic that makes a person ignore the room, I coated myself in Null energy and swiftly entered. Now, when I say that I wasn't expecting this, I mean it. I truly expected messed-up things from Dumbledore, but not this. This is a different level of mess. I didn't even need to check to judge this. Want to know why? Because there were demonic runes and symbols everywhere. Some may ask, "What's the difference?" Well, let me put it this way: anything that has demonic runes and symbols on it is never a good thing.

I began to quickly scan and identify everything in the room; every inch was examined. It took me an hour of thorough scanning just to ensure I didn't miss anything hidden. What I discovered was not pretty. The ritual is essentially going to turn our esteemed headmaster into some kind of divine demonic vassal for God knows what kind of being. Now, I'm not one to be easily scared, but this genuinely terrified me. This ritual is nearly complete; it has been harnessing the belief of wizardkind for years if the magical crystal in the middle is anything to go by. I need to change this situation immediately. Damn, I freaked out for a second there. Taking deep breaths and calming down, I summoned my Grimoire and began thinking of solutions. Two minds are better than one. I came up with two potential solutions:

1. I could disrupt the ritual when the crazy old man starts it. This would likely kill him and have very unforeseen consequences.

2. I could modify it and repurpose it for something else.

I chose the second option. Without wasting time, I started deleting all the demonic runes and symbols, purifying their influence, and after three hours of work, I completed the first step. The second step was to write down what I wanted to use this crystallized belief for—and then it hit me. I could upgrade Hogwarts from a magic artifact into a semi-divine one. Oh, in case I haven't mentioned it, Hogwarts is not just a castle; it's a magical artifact of the highest level. It truly is a magnificent piece of magic, but more on that later. Now, how do I do this?

I began completing the ritual circle and inscribing runes all over the place. I described my desire to upgrade Hogwarts into a refuge for magical learning and protection for magical children. These were my only requirements for the ritual, and then I asked for Hogwarts' permission, which was granted. But before I could start, a magical orange portal appeared. Quickly, without thinking, I cast three different kinds of shielding charms: "Protego Maxima," "Protego Reflectior," and "Aegis Veil," infusing them with more magic and preparing for whoever this was. This magic didn't feel wizardly; it felt different, more neutral, universal and foreign. What a weird magic. It feels like it was borrowed and not at the same time. This is whole other level of confusing.

A bald woman who looked like a Buddhist emerged from the portal. She looked at me with a gaze that I couldn't quite place, then turned her attention to the room with interest plastered all over her face. I remained still and waited. I can hear the planet warning me not to start a conflict with her and my instincts tell me I wouldn't win.

"Very interesting shielding charms you have put up, Mr. Potter." She said and then continued after a brief pause "I have been watching you since you escaped from Azkaban. The Vishanti is very wary of you," the bald woman said again as she continued examining the ritual.

"Who are you? What are you doing here? And who is this Vishanti?" I asked in quick succession. This woman is dangerous; she can somehow see nature energy surrounding me.

"All very good questions, Mr. Potter, but I don't have time to answer them today. You can come and visit once you are done with your plans. And one more thing: check under the crystal; you missed something there." The bald woman said, opened a portal, and left, leaving behind a card. I didn't touch it; I just levitated it using magic, read the contents, and then banished it. I don't want to touch anything I can't understand for now.

I followed her advice and gently levitated the crystal. Son of a bitch—there is still one demonic symbol left, and I couldn't sense it. I guess I was due for a little humbling. Now I erased it and began to check everything again. Once I was sure that everything was in order, I connected the school's rune stone to be the ritual's recipient. I started the ritual and exited the room. I was exhausted, so I called Dobby, ordered him to seal the room, and take me back. Then everything went black.
