Chapitre 8: A letter from a daughter to a Father
Dearest Dad,
Hope you are well. Today is Father's Day and I want to write something that was roaming in my mind for quite a few days. I know you are angry with me but I must write these things to you.
Dad, I am your only lovely little daughter who arrived on this earth 20 years ago. Mummy told me that I was so beautiful that you named me Apsara. You sent me to a good school so that I can make the best out of there. When I got good marks in exams, you were perhaps the happiest person on earth. At the time of receiving a gold medal at our school sports was also a time of joy for you. You made my every birthday party special. Thank you for all those golden days.
But trouble started after I finished college and was getting ready for higher education in university. You sent me to a hostel so that I can study better. At the hostel, I fell in love with a boy. But it couldn't affect my studies. I got a degree in English Literature and got a nice job.
But you didn't accept my relationship with Anirudh. I know dad, that you are too conservative and strict. Mom understood my mind that I can not live without Anirudh. She helped me to marry Anirudh secretly who was then a successful businessman. Mom died soon after our marriage due to a major cerebral attack.
While I and Anirudh were about to start a new life, you were out on a business trip. When you got to know of this, you restricted my entry into my own house. I wept bitterly; my husband and the in-laws were the ones who stood by me.
I tried to call you and send letters but you didn't answer me. For marrying the person of my choice I couldn't imagine that our relationship will fall out like this. I still miss you very much, dad. It's been a year since I have seen you. Please give a reply to this letter. I will wait for your reply.
But today, I am going to give very important yet happy news. Guess what? I am carrying your grandchild in my womb. You can see your grandchild after 5 months. I hope after reading this letter, tears will come out of joy from your eyes.
