Mia sighed, taking that as the response to her question. "I'm sorry you had to lie because of me, Sheila, but I think that's the best. If we get more attached, it's going to be more difficult for both of us. I hate lying to him too, but I am doing this all for our sake."
Sheila couldn't argue the point; she knew Mia wouldn't do anything without a good reason. Done with what she had to say, she retired to bed, leaving Mia to her thoughts.
