“Wait here.” Varg waved his gun at them.

Here?There was nothing here. “Why?”

The blow came too fast, he didn’t have time to react. Which was stupid. He’d sensed the flare of anger. He should’ve remembered what followed Varg’s spikes. Tumbling to the ground, he yanked Elora with him since they were locked together.

“Do not question me.” Spit flew from Varg’s mouth as he snarled at Eli. “You wait here until I come and get you. One step away from this spot and I’ll peel the skin of your back while I fuck you. Remember how good it feels?”

The wave of arousal washing over him had bile climbing his throat. The throbbing pain from the blow woke memories he’d put to rest. Elora cursed and pulled at his arm.

“I’ll be back later.”

Elora tried to stand. “Where are you going? We’ll freeze to death if you leave us here for long.”

Eli would sooner freeze to death than go back to Varg.
