Chapitre 82: 82. Shakuton no Pakura
This mission was supposed to be a simple escort mission, but it ended up in an ambush that nearly killed her. Pakura may be a low kage-level ninja but even she would get killed if she was careless or caught off guard.
And she was ambushed by 10 Jonins, who laid traps for her and waited for her to let her guard down before attacking. Pakura couldn't be blamed either.
She had been performing mission after mission for the village, which would most of the time turn into an A class or S class mission. But she never complained because she was very loyal to the village and knew the circumstances of Suna, she wished to alleviate some of the burdens of the village by completing these missions.
Even when the Kazekage assigned her missions without letting her rest, Pakura never once complained thus leading to an increase in her reputation among fellow shinobi of the village. Thus making the Kazekage more and more upset with her but Pakura didn't know this. She was very loyal to the village and never imagined the village she loved and the people she fought to protect would betray her.
Pakura never wished for fame or recognition, she was a person who truly wished for the good of the village, and ironically that made her a worthy candidate for the Kazekage position. In a few years, she could definitely defeat Rasa and her reputation was also much better than Rasa.
So many higher-ups have been slowly showing their support to Pakura, Pakura without her knowledge had been caught in a messy political vortex with her in the middle. Although she had heard of the rumours of her being considered for Kazekage she never took them seriously, she was satisfied serving the village and didn't have any grand ambitions other than helping her village.
Pakura gazed at her injured form and felt it was dangerous to linger here, she was lucky she was only a few tens of kilometres away from the village but she also wondered why she didn't see any patrol squads. They caught her off guard because she was a little relaxed due to being near the village and they were able to cause some damage to her.
Her battle did cause some commotion she wondered why it didn't draw any attention, Pakura quickly got rid of those thoughts as she rushed to her village...

An injured figure suddenly appeared at the entrance of the village causing the guards to tense up momentarily but they were shocked the next second.
"Pakura-sama!"
"I'm fine, tell the Kazekage I'll go over to file the mission report soon " Pakura said a little exhaustedly as she walked towards her residence.
The guards looked confused and worried and one of them called a shinobi over and told this matter to him to report to the Kazekage. This has been a regular sight for them, Pakura coming back injured and in a bad state. But it only improved their perception of her.
She was working so hard for the village, truly worthy of being the hero of the sand...

Pakura reached her house and she tiredly opened the door and closed it after entering it. But she suddenly felt her body become weak and she fell to the ground.
'Damn it! Should have gone to the hospital' Pakura gritted her teeth but before her body could impact the floor she was held by someone, but Pakura wasn't happy at all at the current development.
Suddenly she felt herself being picked up and she was carried in a bridal style, and she saw the familiar annoying handsome face. Pakura glared at the person in indignation and annoyance.
The person feeling Pakura's glare gazed down at her with a kind smile but Pakura knew his smile was anything but kind, this bastard was clearly mocking her.
"What's wrong Pakura-sama ~ are you okay ~ " Although his words were normal his tone was anything but that. Pakura gritted her teeth and ignored him not willing to give him any satisfaction...

Itsuki just chuckled and moved toward the bed to lay Pakura down before treating her injuries. He had already paralyzed Pakura so she wouldn't be able to move, otherwise, this woman might start attacking him causing a commotion.
Naturally, he wanted Pakura to join the Senju clan but with her character and her fierce loyalty to Sunagakure, she certainly would not agree and would rather try to get rid of him. So when she gets betrayed by the village she holds dear, then he will extend his help to her but if she still doesn't join then it's fine.
As for him helping Pakura now, it was just on a whim. When you are strong enough you can do what your heart wants without any consequences. If he was weak he would have relished or would have been happy about Pakura's condition so that Sand's strength would deplete. But with his current strength, It truly didn't matter even if Sand had Sasori or The third Kazekage because it wouldn't make a difference.
Because to him a Pakura or even two Pakura doesn't matter, if he couldn't recruit a Pakura then he would just say 'It's just a Pakura'. Right now he was just doing what he wanted while trying to change the fates of many trying to create splashes or ripples in this world.
Itsuki wasn't arrogant he was just that strong, he was confident in training a random person to be a powerhouse with the techniques he knew. Did he really need Haku or Kimimaro or Hotaru or even the tailed beasts, the answer was no.
And Itsuki wouldn't deny it, he found Pakura attractive but don't misunderstand him he was doing it all for the rise of the Senju clan!...
