Minato eyed the night sky, only faint echoes of the dark chakra remained, he was writing in a notebook. Hundreds of seals all interconnected, his mind racing as his eyes shot back down to the notebook and he started to carefully write more seals.
He was sitting down, his knees being used as a makeshift table for the notepad.
He felt a familiar well of frustration rising in him as his eyes ran over his work, he sighed and dropped his head.
His eyes flicked back onto the sky, just above the beach, it was already night and had been for a while.
Another day gone by with no results, he sighed in annoyance as he stood, his back aching.
It's been almost a whole month, he wasn't used to being away from home for such a longtime.
He wanted to see his son.
His tired blue eyes closed, his jaw clenching.
He disappeared in a flash.

He returned the next day as always, his notepad ready and his eyes sharply assessing the Chakra, it was fading by the day and he still couldn't tell how to get back home.
Purple bags hung under his eyes, he hadn't been sleeping.
Every second he slept was one second he should be here to find a way to return to his village, his return to Naruto.
He knew it was illogical but he just couldn't help it, his hands lightly shook as he looked down at the notebook.
The seals he had scripted made no sense, absolutely none but he was just hoping, praying that something would stick out to him.
That he would get some fantastic breakthrough and be back home in time for lunch.
He could see it now, his son in his arms, Kakashi sat to his left the accursed ANBU mask long forgotten, Kushina to his right and Jiriaya sat across from him with his stupid, pervy books.
The illusion quickly shattered, his eyes opened as he looked over at the beach.
Men, women and children all enjoying the sun, the sound of laughter, playful shouts and the waves crashing against the beach filled Minato's ears.
His jaw clenched as he dropped his head between his knees, he's…he's never been so resentful at the sound of children's laughter.
He shouldn't have to hear their laughter, he should be home, he should be hearing Naruto's laughter.

The cold blue moonlight shining through his bathroom mirror illuminated his face.
His skin was paler now, which made no sense, his last month was filled with either delivering pizzas or sitting next to a beach.
His hands clenched against the cold porcelain sink, he was staring at himself in the bathroom mirror, his reflection seemed wrong.
He stared for a while as his eyes ran over himself, his eyebags standing out harshly against his paling skin.
He knows he needs to sleep, he's sabotaging himself, but whenever he lays down, whenever he even thinks of sleep he berates himself.
The image of Konoha would pop in his mind, the beautiful warm village calling to him.
He was their leader, their Hokage.
Yet he was gone, a pale shadow of himself in another, distant land unable to return.

He drove through the city, his eyes no longer filled with curiosity as he lifelessly and robotically drove to the delivery point. His hands were clenched tightly around the handlebars, his mind clouded.
He could be writing seals right now.
He should be writing seals right now.
He felt like a ghost in this dreaded city, with so many people, millions of people surrounding him he had never felt so lonely.
He came to a stop, grabbing the pizza from the bag attached to the back of the bike, approaching a house.
He knocked twice, two solid knocks that seemed to echo through his mind. The door opened with a creak, an older woman opening the door with a smile on her wrinkled face.
Her hands shakily extended, ready to take the pizza out of his hands. Gently he dropped the pizzas off, his eyes slowly meeting the woman's eyes, hers a dark brown, his a dull blue.
"Thank you young man" she said gratefully as she handed over the cash, a $10 tip also handed over to the man.
The porch light was a warm orange, illuminating the area, reminding Minato of a crackling fire.
Minato just shallowly nodded and started to walk back to his bike. "Say, are you alright?" She asked, her quiet voice sounding incredibly loud to the Fourth Hokage.
He swallowed, turning his head slightly, his eyebrows raised and a small involuntary smile raising to his face "Yeah, thank you"
The woman hummed "Make sure you're eating well, have a good night" the door slowly closed, the clicking of the lock sounded deafening to Minato.
The porch light turned off, the dark cold of the night sky embracing him once more.

He was in his bed though he was wide awake, the blue light of a phone lighting his room, his thumb shakily hovering over a contact.
Xavier
The only contact in the phone, he still barely knew how to use the thing, he hadn't needed too, he had no one to call.
Maybe he could change that?
The phone screen with an audible click turned black, a red battery symbol now reflecting in his blue eyes, the cold dark room fully enfolding him.
His hand holding the phone shook, gently.
He couldn't see the hand shaking, it was pitch black but he felt it. He clenched his hand tighter around the phone hoping it would stop.
It didn't
The shaking only got more intense,
His fist only clenched harder, the shaking only getting worse in response, he clenc-
Crack!
His breathing quickened, his head fell back against the bed's cold cheap wooden headboard scratching at the base of his neck, and before he could think twice he threw his phone across the room.
The phone landed with a far louder crack as it tumbled down to the carpet floor.
His breathing didn't slow, nor did the shaking cease in fact they only got worse.
Minato dragged his knees up to his chest, tearing his hands through his hair as his head dropped, his fists clenched tightly in his once glowing hair.

Okay! So sorry to break all the tension etc, but I need some help lol.
What should be the next arcs focus? I'm personally thinking Ultron (Comics) , I also thought of Doctor Doom but he seems like a more late game typa guy.
Anyways! Let me know what you think, even if you want a short 2 chapter arc based on Minato living life, just leave a comment!
I appreciate all the support, the powerstones and the reviews! I'm pretty sure 7/8 of my reviews are all 5/5!!!
Thank you!!
