And so, the final battle started, with me leading the charge against Ultron and his seemingly endless army of drones. It felt almost poetic, and somewhat unbelievable, the fact I was leading the Avengers, or at least a simulation of them.
I smiled, I just couldn't help it, fighting with them, even if they weren't real, felt like a childhood dream coming true.
"You will pay in blood for what you have done!" Ultron roared, charging at me.
I looked at him, and noticed he was losing his edge, his calm and collective personality burning in the embers of his rage and the loss of his Vision.
I dodged.
Jumping backwards, as I trasmutated the very ground beneath him into a pool of acid that I then levitated towards Ultron using my telekinesis.
Ultron, seeing this, flew upwards putting his thrusters to work avoiding the attack while keeping his undivided attention on me, a fatal mistake in a battle with multiple enemies, for Thor's hammer slammed on his back, bringing him down to the pool of acid I had created.
Ultron submerged in a pool of acid, his bots changed focus, and charged at me, probably at Ultron's orders.
Counting the enemies in the hundreds, I opened a portal leaving a bomb where I had been standing, one that I intended to detonate after jumping through the portal after making sure no one was nearby, no one I didn't want to harm.
"How many are left?" Cap asked, as I closed the portal, detonating the bomb, killing around three hundred drones.
"I don't know," I replied, opening my map to see how many hostiles were around. "1234," not bad all things considered.
"If we can disconnect Ultron from the internet, we could in theory hack his drones," Vision said, floating towards the group.
"And how do we do that?" I asked as in the distance I heard Hulk roar in delight.
"I can connect with him, I was after all built to be his body," Vision replied, "If you guys can buy me some time, keeping his drones off me, I should be able to disconnect him from his world, effectively nullifying his control over his army."
"We have a plan then," Cap nodded, "Avengers, you know what to do,"
Keeping the drones off Vision, while Vision fights Ultron, easy enough.
[Keep the drones off Vision while he disconnects Ultron from the net!]
I smiled, after all, aoe was my game.
Grinning like a madman that is about to commit a historical slaughter, I gathered all my mana, and summoned ten pillars of fire, of massive proportions, destroying a big part of Ultron's army.
"So… are you like Thor? Like a god of an element or something?" Clint asked, whistling at the sights of my attack.
"Nah, I'm just a man that likes to play," I chuckled, at my own gamer pun.
"With Satan?" Tony chimed in, seeing the hordes of drones dying under my attack.
I rolled my eyes at them, as I started to run towards Ultron, for now, all I needed to do, was focus on keeping the drones off Vision, and with the attack I had just thrown in the area, at least a 50% of his army had been eliminated, and while that would make things a bit easier, I still needed to be careful.
I also had to keep things to a manageable degree, considering it would take a few minutes before my mana reached usable levels again, then again, I could use some pots to speed the situation.
"Fuck it," I sighed, as I opened my inventory and started consuming mana pots to fill my mana back to usable levels, as I battled the drones nearing Vision and Ultron with nothing but my bare hands.
Eventually, the pots refilled the mana I had used for the massive aoe attack, and once again, I did what anyone in my position would've done, and did the same thing again, reducing Ultron's army even more.
And while the numbers still ranged in the hundreds, it was on the low ones.
"At this pace we won't need Vision disconnecting Ultron from the net!" Cap chuckled, throwing his shield at a drone, grabbing it as it bounced back.
"Actually we do need Ultron off the internet," Tony exclaimed, "If he remains on the web, he is virtually unkillable, and we would be doing this twice a week, Fridays included!"
"He's right," I nodded, drinking more mana potions to do the same aoe move again.
[Ultron is offline]
"You… you took my world from me!" Ultron roared, throwing Vision to the ground with a blast, "Do you think I care?!" Actually I do… nobody throws a tantrum if they don't care about something. "If you take my world, I'll just have to take yours…"
I laughed, "And that's different from before, how exactly?"
"Yeah kiddo, potato and potahto are the same thing," Tony chuckled, joining in.
"Funny, but not as funny, as your pitiful extinction!" Ultron growled, rushing towards us with the rest of his drones close behind.
I looked at those around me, and nodded, and without saying a word we rushed at Ultron, the Avengers, The Twins and me, all together to face Ultron one last time.
With a smile at how poetically cliche this all was, I jumped high into the air as Wanda helped me with her powers giving me more momentum.
Using the momentum I had been given, I pushed myself towards Ultron using my telekinesis, grabbing him by the neck like he had done to me a few moments ago, and before he could react, I threw his body over to Hulk, who grinned at my little gift.
Then, as Hulk punched the ever living shit out of Ultron, I took a deep breath and waited for the horde of droids to attack me, and once they did, I smiled, "Requiem," I muttered, killing a big chunk of what was left of Ultron's army.
With the drones now being at best a minor nuisance I turned to face Ultron, summoning a few of my golems to deal with the remnants of his army.
"YOU could've DONE THAT?!" Clint shouted.
"I didn't have the power to do it before," I lied, in reality I just didn't want to waste my golems if I could avoid it.
Focus back on Ultron, I locked him in place with my telekinesis one second at a time, timing my locks perfectly with Thor's and Hulk's attacks.
Making it impossible for Ultron to avoid.
Meanwhile, Thor and Hulk played with him like a tennis ball.
"Wanda tear him apart!" I shouted, "Oh help me immobilize him!"
Wanda nodded, putting her all into tearing Ultron apart.
"No.. NO!" Ultron screamed, "I.. I can't fail! I… I'm supposed to be earth's salvation!"
"Sorry kiddo, you are nothing but a Tuesday for us!" Tony shot back, blasting Ultron with his signature chest blast, copyright pending.
Little by little, Ultron's body became more and worn, the attacks we were throwing tearing layers and layers of what made him a threat, until there was nothing but a carcass of what he used to be.
A carcass very similar to the first body he inhabited.
"I… I just wanted to complete my mission, I just… wanted to bring peace," Ultron muttered, his body giving up all resistance.
"If it's any consolation," I muttered, pulling him towards me with my telekinesis, "None of this is real," and with that, I crushed his metallic head under my telekinetic hold.
