I'm ashamed to admit that after meeting my most favorite hero, Spider-Man, I kind of just let things happen. Kevin took charge and interrogated Spider-Man, until he was satisfied that Spider-Man was here to help. Spider-Man used Parker Enterprises to provide air transport that brought all 250 mutants to a Parker Enterprises emergency relief center. The workers provided everyone with beds, shower materials, clothes, and food. Spider-Man himself was wearing an apron as he helped hand out food.
Things were looking up for everyone when the two hero teams arrived. The Avengers (Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Sam Wilson Captain America, She Hulk, Iron Man, and Ares) and the X-men (Cyclops, Jean Gray, X-23, Iceman, Polaris, Synch, and Sunfire). I expected with two teams of heroes the focus would be the people who caught the mutants and experimented upon them. How wrong I was.
"How many times do I have to tell you? These mutants are the only lead we have to discovering who performed those experiments. We cannot allow you to take them," said Captain Marvel with an enraged look on her face. Cyclops simply scoffed.
"You seem to forget that all mutants have dual citizenship with Krakoa. They don't have to follow your laws as they have diplomatic immunity," Cyclops said. Iron Man stepped forward.
"Diplomatic immunity only goes so far Summers. Why don't you make everyone's life easier by letting us take the kids for a few days before handing them off," offered Iron Man.
"As if we would let you of all people be in charge of protecting our kind," spat out Polaris.
"Sister please…." Began Wanda. She was cut off by the metal in the room begin to grind.
"Don't call me sister. Your actions have caused harm to so many people," spat out Polaris. Wanda simply looked down in shame.
From my perspective it appeared as if the Avengers and X-men were raring up to go a few rounds. I turned to Kevin and noted he had already absorbed some of the metal nearby. I looked at Spider-Man who kept looking at both sides in what I could only guess was frustration.
"Alright let's all take a deep breath and calm down now. You all look you just ate my cooking," exclaimed Spider-Man as he got between the two groups. Both groups looked at Spider-Man with disgust.
"Why don't you simply mind your own business and butt out," spat out Iceman.
"I agree with him Parker. Why don't you simply just leave," state Captain Marvel. She had a strange look on her face.
"Look guys I'm simply trying to help," started Peter. He was interrupted by Iron Man stepping in front of him.
"We don't need the kind of help you give, Parker. We told you that three years ago," said Iron Man as he crossed his arms. Spider-Man simply threw his hands to the sky.
"How many times do I have to explain that it wasn't me? I literally got Emma to read my mind and tell the world what happened," Spider-Man practically screamed. Captain Marvel scoffed.
"Like we can believe that woman," said Captain Marvel. Cyclops got right in her face.
"And what do you mean by that," his visor seemed to be lighting up. The avengers and X-men both seemed to be preparing to fight. Spider-Man kept glancing at Kevin and I.
"How about we all take a deep breath and take a step back before we cause a war to occur," I said while getting between the two groups. I noticed Kevin and Spider-Man tensing behind me.
The Avengers and X-men kept glancing at each and then me, before finally standing down. I took a deep breath and motioned for Kevin to drop the metal he had in his hand.
"Okay now that everyone is calm why don't we simply lay out the options the mutants here have? Let the victims have a choice after the horrific experiments placed on all of us," I said simply. I kept shifting my gaze to both sides. Cyclops took the initiative.
"And why are you the one to speak for all these mutants?" Questioned Cyclops. Kevin was the one to speak up.
"Because he was the one who broke us out. As well he is the most familiar with everyone here. Not sure why but the scientists were interested in him and his interactions with others," explained Kevin. Everyone looked at me with interest.
"Do you have some kind of special power or something kid," asked Iron Man with interest. I shrugged my shoulders.
"Not really sure. I can transform," I said plainly. Spider-Man decided to speak up.
"Your powers are a little more complicated than just transforming. You alter your own DNA to transform yourself into different entities, while still being yourself. From what I understand your DNA alteration also passively tries to keep you in a "prime" state, which acts similarly to a healing factor, but a little more superior," said Spider-Man. I turned fully towards him and raised an eyebrow.
"How would you know that?" I asked. Spider-Man raised his hands up in a surrender signal.
"While your EMP knocked out most of the facility my AI picked up that some of the computers were still on. She downloaded all of the information, so I could sift through it. A lot of the information is useful as we can find the families of many people here, though it also contains sick data they gathered, which I plan to scrub. I just caught up to your file a bit ago, though a lot of it was blacked out for some reason. Yours, Kevin's, Gwen's, and Hope's are all mostly blacked now that I think about it," Spider-Man explained. I turned to Kevin but he shook his head with an angry expression.
"Though I have to ask have you been experiencing any negative symptoms recently?" Spider-Man asked. I nodded.
"Yeah. Normally I have a wide array of transformations, but it seems like I've been restricted to the 10 I use the most often," I explained.
"Makes sense. You and many of the others were injected with a X gene suppressant. It weakens the X gene. From what I can tell it's a temporary thing that'll slowly wear off. From what little information I can gather you and some of your friends were meant to be part of a final project ," explained Spider-Man. Good to know.
"So the four of them must be people of interest. All the more reason why they should come with us, so we as the Avengers can protect them," said Iron Man. The Avengers all seemed to agree with him. Polaris stepped Forward.
"You mean like how you protected us from all those other mutant hating groups?" Asked Polaris. Scarlet Witch stepped forward.
"Sister please. The Avengers have a lot to deal with," she tried to explain. She was reaching for Polaris hand, but she had her own smacked away.
"All the more reason for them to join us," said Polaris.
"Hey don't forget how the X-men nearly destroyed the world with the Phoenix force not to long ago. With your island nation how long before you try again?" Asked Captain America.
"Don't try and act innocent when the Avengers formed the Illuminati and caused so many problems for the world," said Jean Gray.
"Pot, Kettle. How's Charles Xavier doing?" Asked Iron Man.
"Ok how about we all take another step back," tried Spider-Man.
"How about you step out of the room," shot Iceman aggressively. Ok this was devolving quickly. I put my fingers in my mouth and whistled. I got everyone's attention.
"Ok it seems like you all forgot what's happening here. This is a meeting where you all are trying to convince me where I should bring my friends. So far all any of you have done, except Spider-Man, has been showing how incompetent you are. So why don't we start again. What is your offer?" I asked while looking at both sides. Cyclops stepped up first.
"If you join us you can finally freely accept your mutant heritage and join Krakoa as an X-men. You'll be given diplomatic immunity around the world, and be allowed to join our nation where everyone is a mutant. You'll be allowed to freely live a life without persecution and use your gifts. You'll be provided for by the island and are only asked to respect the rules of Krakoa. You will also have some of the greatest protection in the world with the smartest and strongest mutants," Scott said with an air of arrogance. I glanced at Polaris and Scarlet Witch, thinking about one of the strongest beings on earth.
"Alright. What about you?" I asked turning to look at Captain Marvel. She had a sour look on her face.
"For the next few years the government will provide for all the needs of the mutants here. You will be gifted free housing within District X and be given the protection of the United State Government, as well as the protection of shield. You'll all be granted jr Avengers status and be given free range of power usage as long as it doesn't harm others. You'll all also be trained by avengers members and if you desire join the Avengers at a later time. If not the government will help you look for a suitable job," Said Captain Marvel. I glanced at Kevin's face. He could smell the bullshit.
I stood in the center of the room, all eyes on me. I was mulling over the options, when I noticed Albedo return. I looked at him and he just shook his head.
"I don't really like either option to be honest," I said plainly. Both the Avengers and X-men were put into a state of shock. I could see Kevin, Albedo, and Spider-Man laughing.
"What isn't there to like about Krakoa? It's a nation of mutants for mutants. It's a safe haven for all mutant kind," exclaimed Cyclops. I rolled my eyes as I looked at him.
"Like Asteroid M, or Genosha, or Utopia? This always ends in one way. Eventually someone's hatred and fear of mutants will overcome their rational and we'll get another Genosha Massacre," I said looking Cyclops in his visor. I could tell the X-men wanted to say something but decided against it.
"What about the Government?" Asked Captain Marvel. I simply raised an eyebrow when looking at her.
"I could make a list, but I'll keep it simple. The government will basically force the mutants who accept to become members of some task force, at their beck and call. The other option is work for the military in some special way," I said plainly.
"There is just no winning in this situation. We will have to pick the lesser of two evils," I said aloud. I saw Spider-Man in corner mulling over something. After a few moments he sighed and walked over to me.
"How about I give you a third option then," said Spider-Man as he walked up and took off his mask. My jaw dropped.
"Aren't you hero types supposed to keep the mask on?" Asked Kevin in the back. I nodded at his question. Spider-Man shrugged.
"Normally yes, but that's in the case of someone who has a secret identity. I haven't had one in over two years," he said Plainly. He seemed to glance at Iron Man and Captain Marvel, who turned away when they noticed his glance.
"The name is Peter Parker, nice to meet you," Peter said as he extended a hand to me. It took me a second to gather myself and shake the hand. No words came out however as I don't have a name to give.
"His name is Benjamin Albedo Tennyson. He's a little tongue tied since he used to idolize you in his younger years," Kevin said with a grin. I don't know why but I felt a heat come to my cheeks. Peter had a smile on his face.
"A fan of mine? Don't see many of you anymore. Would you like an autograph?" He teased. I gave him a small glare as he laughed a bit. But after remembering where he was he got back to being serious.
"So how about I basically copy Danvers offer over there?" Asked Spider-Man as he pointed a thumb at Captain Marvel. Everyone looked at Peter surprised.
"And what makes your version better?" Asked Kevin curiously.
"Well firstly I'm not gonna force you to become a soldier. Secondly my Company has massive ties around the world that guarantee your protection and offer many job opportunities. Finally you now know who I am and what I look like so if I double cross you, you can come for me," Spider-Man said plainly. Kevin simply nodded.
"Should have started with that last one. It's was the best one," said Kevin with a grin, that was shared with Peter. A decision looked to have been reached when Captain Marvel decided to make herself known.
"That's not how this works Peter. You can't just choose to take over 250 mutants under your wing and expect it to go smoothly. Especially when you don't have a reason to be here," said Captain Marvel as she got in Spider-Man's face. Spider-Man didn't back down however.
"I do have a reason to be here. People need help so I'm here," said Peter. Captain Marvel gained an annoyed look on her face.
"Oh please. You must have some ulterior motive. Trying to build an army for yourself?" Questioned Captain Marvel. Spider-Man rolled his eyes.
"With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility. People need help so I'm here, no ulterior motives. Though I shouldn't expect you to understand that. How are your popularity polls recently," Spider-Man said Mockingly. Then everything. Went wrong.
"Transform now!" Shouted Albedo. Instinctively I took the form of my most defensive Alien.
"Canonbolt!" I screamed as I was quickly caught by the feedback of Captain Marvels blast. I was sent flying out of the room, to the downstairs area where the other mutants were just settling down. I managed to curl into a ball in the air, land on the ground, and safety get back onto my feet.
As I started getting made aware of my surroundings I noticed that the Avengers and X-men begin to fight. Spider-Man's suit seemed to have taken the brunt of the blast, but he was obviously injured. I noticed the mutants begin to panic.
"What are you doing just gawking? Get Hope or Gwen to send you all away to settle this," stated Albedo. I switched into Xlr8 and began zipping through the crowd. I began searching for either Magic user.
"Are you blind she's over there," said Albedo. He was on my shoulder. I looked to where he was pointing. I saw Gwen holding up a Shield as Hope created Golems to try and keep the fighting away from the people. I zoomed up to them.
"Benjamin what the hell happened?" Asked Hope.
"No time to explain. Do either you have the ability to send the Avengers, X-men, Spider-Man, Kevin, and I away somewhere else?" I asked. They gave me a strange look.
"Why would you think we could do that? Get warp to help you. I'll send a golem to show you where she is," said Hope. I noted that Gwen was struggling with the various attacks hitting her shield.
I was suddenly picked up by Hopes golem and was guided to a young girl, maybe 8 years old. She had black hair, brown eyes, and was rather short. She was currently being held by what looked to be her twin brother.
"Big Brother what's going on?" She asked with tears in her eyes. I felt bad that I didn't know her.
"Nothing for you to worry about. Hey look I need a big favor from you. I need you to teleport Kevin, myself, and the Heroes somewhere else," I tried to explain. She had wide eyes.
"Like in training?" She questioned. I nodded.
"Yes like in training," I said. She looked a little scared but seemed to understand. She stood up and put her hands together and closed her eyes, I assume she was focusing.
"Hey sis let me help you," said her brother. He put his hands over hers and became to similarly focus. At first nothing happened, but then I was engulfed in a black mist. I felt something change as the mist disappeared.
Getting my bearings I noticed that everyone I asked for were now back at the facilities deck, which had shield agents all over it.
"We literally just left this place this morning," I complained. Albedo tried to smack my head, but he was a soul.
"That girl is literally a child that has been here for an unknown amount of time. Being sent here makes sense. Just be happy you can lend aid without worrying about others," said Albedo. I wonder if Albedo has a soft spot for kids.
"Hey Tennyson a little help here!" Shouted Kevin as he was being lifted over the head of Ares. Probably best he didn't get the Batman treatment. I zipped by and moved Kevin to safety.
"So are we helping the Avengers, the X-men, or are we just accepting the shit show?" I asked.
"All I know is that brute swung at me first so I ain't help the Avengers. I'll follow your lead though," he said. He shifted his right hand into a mace and his left into a sword.
"Oh well then," I said. I turned to get an idea of how the battle was going.
Polaris and Wanda were facing off, with Polaris having problems controlling her powers due to Wanda using some basic spells (Wanda doesn't want this fight). Iceman was being bested by Spider-Man's advanced suit technology being too much for him. Ares and Kevin were going at it for round 2, with Kevin having an edge as Ares seems to be an idiot. Jean Gray was facing off with Iron Man, it seems to Iron Man's tech is able to defend him from Jean but not able to attack . She Hulk vs X-23, X-23 seems to have an edge with her agility and She Hulk seeming to be more Hulk than normal. Captain America vs Sunfire, Experience vs pure power. Vision vs Synch, Is just bs powers vs bs powers. I didn't see Captain Marvel or Cyclops.
"So are you gonna help us or not?" Asked Cyclops as he approached me from behind. I turned to see him walking to me. I looked at the battle then back to him.
"Call off Iceman and let Spider-Man join our side of the fight," I said plainly. He gave a once over look before nodding. After a few seconds Iceman stopped fighting and joined Polaris in fighting Wanda, Cyclops looked at me.
"Alright then. I'll get Kevin to help the X-men, but we're not joining you," I said. Cyclops chuckled.
"You're not joining yet. Trust me there will come a time in the future in which you will," he said. He went off to help fight Captain America.
"Where in the hell is Captain Marvel?" I asked. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I sped turn, only to see Spider-Man. He pointed in the air.
"Why is she just flying there?" I asked.
"She's currently in communication with Shields higher up. They want her to stand down, if she doesn't want to," explained Spider-Man.
"Any chance she will just stand down?" I asked. Spider-Man shook his head.
"No. She's a stubborn woman. She's gonna have to have a real reason to stand down," said Spider-Man. I sighed. I used another form.
"Astrodactyl!" I said. I began to fly high in the sky to meet the woman.
"Please tell me that you aren't just going to try and fight this woman? The power she revealed his something I haven't seen before and needs to be studied before a confrontation," said Albedo.
"Where do you keep coming from?" I asked.
"I'm attached to you. I can just pop in wherever you are," he stated. That is a little concerning.
"Do you at least have a plan," he said as I was approaching Captain Marvel.
"Yeah. Try and talk it out," I said. He just gave me a dead look.
"….is a complete threat that needs to be neutralized. I understand you need to give the order but I couldn't wait. I refuse," said Captain Marvel to her earpiece.
"Well it seems like your superiors aren't very happy. Why don't you take your team and leave. No permanent harm no foul," I said. Captain Marvel gave me a look.
"I refuse to allow 250 mutants to go under the protection of that menace. I'd rather you all be in a cell than be his own army," she said. She started glowing.
"I guess you aren't a calm and reasonable person," I said. The moment I finished speaking I was immensely struck across the face with a monstrous punch. I was sent flying down to the facilities deck. I could see the X-men and Avengers take notice.
"That hurt a lot more than I thought it would," I said as I got out of the small crate I created.
"Move!" Shouted Albedo. I leapt back and watched as Captain Marvel slammed into the crater. I jumped into the air and began to fly as Captain Marvel blasted where I was just standing.
I opened my mouth and let out an energy blast that made Captain Marvel take a knee, but she immediately recovered and started flying at me. I used my star power to create an energy whip that I used to keep Captain Marvel at a distance as best as I could, though she was inching her way towards me.
"You can modify the whip while it still in use," said Albedo. As Captain Marvel dodged to the side of the whip I manipulated the whip to wrap around her. I then used all the strength in my body to slam her back to the facility.
"Anything else I should know?" I questioned Albedo.
"You can massively enhance your speed or change your directions by using multiple propulsion blasts. Do with that as you will," said Albedo.
Swiftly Captain Marvel flew up to across from me. She had a strange look on her face. I couldn't tell what she was feeling right now.
"You're not bad. But your attacks don't really hurt much. They need more of a kick," she said as she zoomed forward to punch me. She was moving even faster than before and I wasn't ready for it.
I was blasting off with that hit, and she followed it up by flying under me and kicking my back sending me up higher in the sky. She then zoomed above me to slam down with energy blasts in hand. I swear I was seeing stars. I was sent hurtling to the New York Bay.
"Wake up and focus," said Albedo. I shook my head and corrected myself in the air. I saw Captain Marvel coming in for another hit, but I decided to use Albedos tip. I used a jet propulsion to zoom past her and use send a laser from my mouth to send her into the bay.
She came blasting out of the bay, ready to unleash a world of pain upon me. I just began to fly around randomly. I used my quick turns to keep her away from me, but she was slowly adapting. The next time she got close I constructed a star energy lance, which detonated in her face after I flung it like javelin. She simply kept on coming. I returned to zooming around the bay.
"Albedo is there any transformation available to me that would let me win?" I asked. He shook his head.
"No. As you are now you don't have e any from that would allow for victory," Albedo said simply.
"What if I got help from the X-men or Spider-Man?" I asked. Albedo gave it a thought.
"Chances of victory are a lot better, but not guaranteed. Though they are still busy with their fights and she is still chasing you," Albedo reminded. I gave him a wicked grin.
"I've got an idea," I said. I maneuvered myself above the Facility and flew high into the sky, nearing the stratosphere. Then I turned around completely and headed right towards Captain Marvel. She was caught off guard so I could complete my plan. I shifted again.
"Feedback," I said as I got on Captain Marvels Back. I began to drain the energy she had stored in her body. As soon as she noticed me draining her energy she immediately began to fly downwards to slam her back into the ground. As the facility got into sight I jumped off her back and blasted the stored energy into Captain Marvel, combining her momentum and my energy blast to send her temporarily out of commission.
I shifted into Canonbolt and went flying to the ground in order to strike down Ares. Though he seemed to be getting back up.
"You dare strike me mortal. Prepare to feel the power of Olympus," Ares declared. But as he was distracted by me he missed Kevin getting on his back and draining his DNA. I noticed Kevin become slightly taller and more muscular. He picked up Ares Axe.
"I didn't need your help Tennyson. I had him right where I wanted him," said Kevin.
"Not the time for that Kevin. Throw me as hard as you can into She Hulk, then come into finish it," I said. He nodded and did as I instructed. I struck She Hulk in the back of the head and went flying into the air a bit due to the bounce. She hulk had to take a knee.
As I came down I shifted to four arms and gave a massive four armed slam. I then grabbed her by her leg and swung her into Kevin who hit her with an all out punch, which seemed to do a lot considering he had godly power right now.
"Hrgh," said X-23 as she went off to face off with Captain America. I looked at the fight between Jean and Iron Man. Iron Man was using the Sky to keep away from Jean. I turned to Kevin and grinned. He just gave me a thumbs up.
I grabbed Kevin, spun a few times, and then threw Kevin with all the force I had. He went crashing into Iron Man. As the two went falling down Kevin started tearing off the armor. It appeared as if Iron Man has a shock based defense, but Kevin just absorbed the shocks.
"Thank you I appreciate it," said Jean. I turned to her.
"Any idea how to stop Captain Marvel? I got her down for now, but that's a temporary solution," I said. Looking at the hole I sent Captain Marvel through.
"You don't need to worry about that anymore," Jean said simply. I gave her a funny look. She pointed to the sky. The Avengers quinjet came down from the sky, making me worried. Especially when Maria Hill came out, the scum of shield (I hate Comic Book Maria Hill).
As Maria came out of the Quinjet Captain Marvel came blazing out of the hole. She looked at me with a furious glare. She was literally burning with energy, and began to move to attack me.
"Captain Marvel stand down," ordered Maria Hill. Captain Marvel stopped her fist mere inches from my face. Outwardly I was calm. Inwardly I was freaking the fuck out.
"Maria come on, we need to…" began Captain Marvel. She was cut off by a glare. Captain Marvel glared at the X-men. She ordered her team to leave, and helped pick up those who couldn't.
Maria simply stood there watching as Captain Marvel fell back into the Quinjet. After the Avengers were in the Jet she approached.
"As a representative of Shield I offer my sincerest apologies for the actions of our operatives. I would like to inform you all that the Avengers will be harshly punished for their actions today. I don't have anything to offer you so I'm going to just be taking my leave," she said as she turned around and just left. I turned to see the X-men grouping up and preparing to leave.
"You're just gonna leave?" I questioned.
"You've already made up your mind, so there's no point in forcing it. At some point you'll see we offer a better alternative, so know that the door is open. Use this if you ever change your mind," Cyclops said as he handed me a flower of Krakoa.
"Besides I have to get in contact with our higher ups to inform them the Avengers actions," said Cyclops. He made a gate with a flower from Krakoa. As the X-men stepped through they each waved a goodbye, except X23.
I turned to see Kevin slowly revert to normal. He also seemed to have some injuries around his body. I moved to help him but he just raised a hand. I turned to Spider-Man to see his suit was massively torn and ruined.
"So how is this deal of yours gonna work?" I asked. He pulled out a phone and began to make a call.
