Cassie arched her brow when she met Theo's eyes as she walked to the side of the counter. She just arched her brow and walked faster. Still, his eyes are intimidating. This was not the first time that she saw him. He's also an investor in the hospital where she worked, and she saw him talking to the director, too. Not just once, not twice, but a lot.
Rona and the rest don't know about it. How would they know she doesn't spit things involving him? It's not that she was afraid of him because, honestly, her father is scarier than him.
She pushed the door and saw two women blabbering about Theodore again.
"Gosh, if only I can have the time. I will cling my arms to his and offer my sexy body," one woman said, making Cassie arch her brow and enter the empty cubicle.
"However, we can't. He may be alone tonight, but who knows if he has bodyguards who explore the whole bar? You don't know how cruel that man was."
The two continued to chat until she got out of the cubicle. She walked toward the sink and washed her hands. In her peripheral vision, she saw how they stopped, and her presence finally caught their attention.
Then suddenly, she heard their whisper saying she was fat and it was a shame that she entered this high-end bar.
She smirked and dried her hands. She turned to them, making them step back.
"Got a problem with me?"
She saw a hint of fear in their eyes, but gone in a moment. The skinny one in a blue dress stepped forward. "Aren't you ashamed to wear a dress with that kind of body?"
She bit her lower lip and never left her gaze. "Are there any rules that a woman with a body shape like mine can't wear a dress?"
The other girl on her side scoffed and was about to raise her hand when she warned them.
"Slap me, and you'll see how a wrestler breaks your arm." For the first time, a corny joke came out of her mouth.
Seizing the moment when the two were dumbfounded, she left.
She can surely be a wrestler if they start a fight with her.
As she walked the hallway from the bathroom, someone bumped into her, making her push back a little. She frowned. It's darker here, and she can't clearly see the man's face. Yes, it was a man, based on his shape and his suit.
She frowned. "Watch your steps, Mister," she said. Based on his posture, he seems drunk. She was about to turn near the stairs when a force grabbed her.
Her chest started to feel heavier in fear. "W-What are you doing—" she didn't finish her words when she felt a softie thing pressed into her lips, completely shutting her up.
'Why? What's going on? Why can't I move my body? Who's this one?'
'My first kiss!'
She was a doctor, but why can't she defend herself with this kind of drug? Her body became numb, and suddenly, she found herself in a bed.
'What the hell?!'
She tried to move and wished that this could only be a dream.
'But why am I responding? Why do I respond and get lost in this man's touch?'
What and Why's are running inside her mind, but she can't let herself escape. She was imprisoned by a force.
Her consciousness is alive, but why her body won't react?
'What's wrong with me? Why do I like his touch?'
Then suddenly, she heard his voice, making her heart beat so loud. "You're beautiful."
She gasped and tried to utter a word, but his soft lips enveloped hers again. And it was at that moment that she lost.
CASSIE gasped for air; it seemed like she was drowned in the vast ocean. She roamed her eyes around, uttering the words, "Where am I?"
She got up, and her heart filled in shock when she was not alone. There's someone sleeping beside her?
She tried to move but groaned in pain, leaving a cussed, "What the hell?"
She lifted the blanket that covered her, and even if it was dim, she knew she was naked.
She was about to scream when she heard a creek sound coming from the door. She frowned, and even if the thing in between her legs hurt, she tried to move and hide on the side of the wooden cabinet. When she looked down, she cursed inside her head. 'I am f*cking naked!'
She waited for someone to open the door and wondered who would that be. Then her gaze landed on the bed, where a man softly slept.
'D*mn, did I just let a stranger f*ck me?'
'Admit it, you liked it,' said the other corner of her mind.
She shook her head, and in a second, she heard footsteps.
'Damn, what's happening? Am I not in a fantasy earlier, and now, it seems like I was in a horror movie?'
The footsteps became clearer and clearer in her ears; she gasped but managed to cover her mouth when she saw a shadow. Then her heart began to pound fast, and got a hunch that something bad might happen.
Who's that someone on the bed, and whose shadow is that?
She covered her mouth with her hands tightly as she witnessed how the man strangled the stranger on the bed.
Her eyes widened, and fear filled her heart. Her body began to tremble. She didn't know what to do, but her legs started to disobey her. She stood up, walked towards the man who was strangling the other one, and grabbed the vase on the side. She closed her eyes, and her hands seemed to move by themselves and hit that murderer's head.
And it was at that moment that tears filled her eyes as she sobbed silently, her hands let go of the vase, making a loud thud on the carpeted floor. Her hands were shaking, and she thought that was the worst nightmare she had, but when she saw the man who was in bed next to her earlier, she lost the light of her world.
"T-Theo…"
The man's eyes were wide open as he stared at her. The light from the lampshade clearly shines on him. She can't be mistaken. It was Theodore Smith!
She moved backward when he got up and coughed. He touched his neck and looked at the man who fell to the floor.
Her eyes suddenly stayed alert, and saw her dress on the floor. She grabbed it and walked toward the bathroom.
Trembling, she managed to get changed and didn't mind where her underwear was. She just needs to leave the room and stay away from Theodore.
She inhaled and exhaled to calm herself as she exited the bathroom. When her eyes landed on the room, he was gone. They're gone.
She strode near the bed, and on the floor, she saw her white underwear. Before she could recall everything that had happened, she wore it and left.
"What the hell, Cici? Where have you been?"
As she thought her friends left her, she was wrong. They were still on the couch, and she saw how their eyes started to drop. "Y-You two are drunk—"
"Where have you been?" Rona asked.
"I… I overslept—"
"What?" It was Vince.
"I'm sorry. I rented a VIP room and napped upstairs," Cassie lied. But she saw how Rona was unconvinced.
She was wondering why didn't they take the chance to find her. And think of a stupid thought that Theo might manipulate the situation. But why?
Damn. Yeah, great. She knows that he's drunk, but it's still impossible. She gritted her teeth as she clenched her fist when Rona laughed.
"A nap in an hour? At the VIP room upstairs? The Cassie we knew doesn't know—"
"I need to go," she cut off and left.
They kept on calling her, but she didn't turn around and stop. All she wanted was to get away from there.
