Chapitre 34: Chapter 34 - Ethan's POV

Lily's been unusually nice today, and it's weird. Not that she's not always nice, but this past week has been rough for us as partners. It's been stressful—emotionally, physically, and mentally—so seeing her all chipper and radiant this morning feels… different. A good kind of different, but still, I can't shake the feeling that something's up.

She probably woke up happy and wants to share that energy with me. Or maybe, just maybe, she's trying to butter me up for something. I'll take it for now.

"Good morning, babe!" she chirps as she comes out of the kitchen, balancing a spatula in one hand and her phone in the other.

"Good morning," I reply, stretching lazily. "How did you sleep, babe?" I ask, genuinely curious. With her protruding stomach taking up most of the king-size bed lately, I've been sleeping in the guest room to give her more space to stretch out comfortably.
