"Ladies and gentlemen!" Emi's voice suddenly echoed throughout the entire place. Everyone stopped what they were doing. "It's a great pleasure to welcome you all to this year's gala!" A cheer erupted throughout the whole crowd. "To all students, ex-students, and invited guests, thank you for coming to the gala hosted by our prestigious school!" The cheering became louder and louder.

"Daiki and I are your hosts for today; we are not here to make speeches. Our job is simply making sure everything runs smoothly." She smiled when everyone clapped. Narumi just rolled her eyes at her.

"Exactly." Daiki mumbled under his breath and looked towards the entrance of the building. He saw Narumi staring daggers at him.

'Oh my God, she looks pissed off.' Daiki thought to himself nervously. He hoped that Emi wouldn't notice how nervous he was about the situation; just two more minutes and he would join her again.
