If I had my way, then I would kill this man right now. We arrived at the hospital and I got out before he even did, to the reception. My livid face was gone the moment I stepped out of the car.
It turned into a more serious face as I sat on a sit in the reception waiting for Mr Alex, "Mrs Wilson!" Doctor Phil walked up to me, he darted his gaze around as if searching for something. I already knew who he's looking for and I rolled my eyes.
I seriously don't know why people still mingle with that heartless man, it's not like he's that special. Wait, isn't this the same hospital Maya's in, or has she been discharged? As if they could read my thoughts, I saw aunt Amelia walking out with her daughters.
I smiled the moment I saw her, "Aunt Amelia!" She smiled and gestured for a hug, I didn't hesitate to hug her back. "How have you been?" "We'll be in the car mother!" Beverly held her sisters hands and was about to leave. "No no don't leave love, I'll be there with you shortly!"
Aunt Amelia returned her gaze to me, "Hazel come with me, I need to have a quick conversation with you in the cafeteria!" I nodded at her words immediately. "Please excuse us doctor, I'll come see you once I'm done with my aunt!" I smiled for the man to nod in agreement.
I quickly went with Aunt Amelia to the Cafeteria, it was large and filled with mostly the hospital staffs. I ordered a juice and ordered hers too. "So what did you want to talk about?" I was so excited she was willing to talk to me. She looked so beautiful, and her skin was like milk.
"You look so beautiful Aunt!" I complimented to earn a slight smile from her. I've been too excited to not notice the slight frown on her face.
"This is the luxury you leave in yet you let your husband cage us in that mansion!" I gave a confused look at her words. "Oh aunt don't be like that, Alex is a stubborn man. Heaven knows how long we fought for him to let me see you!" I smiled but she didn't return it.
"Of all the men in the world, why Alex?" She suddenly asked. So this is what this conversation was about? Just how much brain damage has Beverly done to my Aunt. "What are you talking about?"
"Do you know the pain and hurt Berverly goes through every day cause you're with the man she loves?"
"That is none of my business, I have alot of problems right now and that is the least of them!" I took a sip from my glass.
"I don't know how long I'd keep telling everyone that I didn't steal Alex from anyone!"
"Then leave!"
"I can't, not until it's a year!"
"You're destroying the happiness of two souls who long for each other!"
"What are you saying?"
"You're a home wrecker Hazel, go back to where you came from!" Her tone turned more vibrant causing the people around to stare at us.
"Aren't you supposed to be my aunt? I was sold, sold to them cause of you and mother!" I tried to stay as calm as possible.
"I was decieved by father and sold to Alex. You think I didn't think of leaving, do you know how many times I tried to run or even end my life?"
"You've been leaving a comfortable life for months now, a life without stress or discomfort and that's because I'm paying the price. I'm the one wasting a year of my life on a man who's already inlove with someone else!"
"How do you think I feel about all this? You're meant to encourage me not bash me for no reason!" I bit my inner cheek to remind myself not to cry before her.
"Those words and cries will change nothing Hazel, you know you have a choice to leave. But you want to stay cause you're now inlove with Alex!" She said coldly.
"A forbidden love that cannot exist? You should ask you lieing daughters to speak the truth and not feed you with lies!"
"It's clear to everyone they need fixing, you should try fixing them and not lecture me about my damaged life!" "I'm legally married to Alex which makes your gullible daughter the home wrecker just like......!" I took in deep breaths and walked away.
I didn't know why I sat there for long to listen to her whinnies. This was the first time I've spoken back to Aunt Amelia. I had issues already with the man who's meant to be my husband. An issue with Berverly was none of my business.
I walked into doctor Phil's office not sparing a glance at the man sitted on a chair there. It was his fault I was being defamed by my supposed family and close friends of Berverly.
If he loves her, then why keep me here? He can just go back to her and get married to her already. "We'll commence with the test now!" Phil announced for me to follow him to the blood room. With so much gritting of teeth and tightly closing of my eyes, my blood was finally drawn.
He checked my throat and gave prescription saying it was not serious. I licked one of the substance immediately.
I got back to the office after that, still didn't gaze at the man sitted there. "Are you still upset Hazel?" He asked calmly, but I said nothing to him, I was not ready to talk to him.
Alex has done more damage to me than he knows, he has no idea on how these people threaten me daily and I'm fed up. I felt his hands hold mine and I hit it down.
"Alex let's get a divorce, please let me go I'm tired!" I said calmly finally meeting his gaze to see his unchanged expression. His lips parted, but before any word could come out, the door clicked open and Phil walked in.
"Like I said before sir, your wife is free from it. She doesn't need to take the drugs anymore, she's out of danger!" Phil smiled and Alex nodded.
Just what were they talking about?
I turned my gaze to Alex who gave no expression on his face and then the doctor who spoke with little fright. "Alright we'll be leaving now thank you doctor!" Alex held my wrist and we left without waiting to here the doctor's words.
