Chapitre 147: Chapter 147 Days to the wedding party 28
I ended the call the moment the sister dou walked towards me, and Carie snatched my phone from me. "What were you doing?" She asked going through my phone. It was a good thing I ended the call, as if I knew she would snatch my phone. She's not called a sister for nothing.
Besides even if I wanted to tell her, it wouldn't be before Avery, one of the persons who despise I and Alex's relationship. "I was on a call with your brother!" I said briefly, hiding my more red face as I paddled into my closet to change my clothes. "What were you guys talking about that got you all red?" Carie inquired further and I glanced at Avery.
It was like she understood my stare and stopped talking. Avery walked futher into my closet as she stroded through my clothes, "You don't let the maids dress you up?" I heard her ask. "Hmm, it makes me feel uncomfortable!" I made my answer brief.
I wore a gold button white mini skirt and a light pink sweat shirt. I wore my sandals, my diamond bracelet and necklace. Earrings were not left out as I picked my purse, the one Alex already arranged for me.
I decided to check the purse for my credit card so I don't embarrass myself again. The last time was enough embarrassment already. Emptying the purse, I found the two black cards on the table. If Alex didn't take his card from the purse, then what was his reason for coming here in the first place. Or did he forget it again?
"We're are we headed?" I asked Carie who was engrossed in my phone, "Hazel stand still!" She said and I did. "Perfect!" Was the only thing she said and she continued what she was doing. I sat before the dressing mirror to brush my hair.
We all left the mansion later on to the designer shop Avery and Carie were meant to get their clothes. "Welcome to transafique" a woman welcomed us in and we got in. Since she knew the reason for our arrival, she got straight to why we were there.
Unfortunately, Avery's dress doesn't fit anymore as she gained weight a little. Since it was already too late to start making new dress and there was no way she could loose weight in two days, she had to pick another dress. While Avery was busy pouring her range on the designers and workers, I and Carie decided to head to the hospital for her check up. "Did she suspect anything?" "No!" Carie smiled.
It wasn't wrong if she told Avery about the pregnancy, but we know how much of a big mouth Avery is. There's no way, Avery would not tell Grandma about it. Attention was the last thing Carie wanted right then. We both knew how disappointed mum and grandma would be if they found out.
Pressure of getting married hurriedly was the last thing Carie wanted, she wouldn't mind if she gets married after giving birth. But I think that idea would sound like an abomination to the family.
"Welcome, ladies I'm doctor Claude!" The doctor greeted us politely and we smiled. "We're her for pregnancy test!" I said since Carie was so shy of speaking since she was the victim of it. "You two?" He asked and I nodded. I didn't want Carie to be left out so I decided to take the blood test with her, just for confirmation of the result we got before.
We got to the lab, to conduct the test. Right now I regretted why I foolishly told them I wanted to run the blood test too. I've forgotten so soon how scared I was of needles. Just a glance at how the doctor held it made my heart skip.
"You don't have to take it if you're scared!" Carie held my hands tenderly. "I'm already here aren't I?" I smiled and she returned it. 'Okay Hazel, we're doing this for Carie and your coming niece, you don't have to look weak before her' I sang in my head as I took in deep breaths and shut my eyes tightly, turning stiff while the doctor drew my blood.
Before I knew it we were done. "It wasn't so hard was it?" Said the nurse who noticed my fear and I smiled at her. We got back to the doctors office waiting for the result which was out in no time.
Even if we knew the outcome of this result, I could still see how Carie hopefully prayed that she was not pregnant. I held her hands and gave a reassuring smile, just to let her know I'm here for her and even if the whole world was to judge her for her mistake I would never do that.
"The results are out!" Doctor Claude said making our heart skip more. I hated this tension doctors give patients when they're about to give their reports. "Mrs Carie you're two months pregnant!" Carie's grip on me tightened and I used my thumb to caress her palm.
"Mrs Wilson, you're not pregnant. And congratulations on your marriage!" He said with a smile and I returned it, slightly taken aback. This totally means my marriage with Alex is no news as the whole world was aware of it. This attention kind of feels wierd, I wonder if this love and respect would still be shown when we eventually get divorced.
The thought of divorcing Alex now gives me nausea feelings in my tommy. I loved the man and I just don't think I can live without seeing him anymore. I just hoped he feels the same way towards me.
The doctor gave some words which included Carie's healthy eating from now on and other things. I asked why she was still vomiting even if she was now two months gone and he said it was normal, and that for most people, it occurs till they give birth.
Carie's on a new form, she's on her way to mother wood and all these experiences are new to her. What she needs now is motherly advice and love, but since she said she's not ready to let her mother know cause of my wedding, there's nothing I can do to change her mind.
We were to return the next day for her scan, so the gender of the baby can be revealed. We left the hospital after everything hoping Avery had returned back home. Carie went into her room the moment we got back, and I gave her space to think about it. I would definitely support her on whatever she decides to do.
