Adrian’s POV

Today has been a complete cluster f*ck and I just want it all to be over. I want Alicia back in my arms, and I want to know more about Zane.

I walk into the living room to find my grandmother sitting on the couch knitting. She doesn’t look up at me when I enter the room, which is very typical of her to do.

I exhale sharply as I sit on the couch beside her.

“Ma, there is something I need to ask you.” My voice is tight, and my heart is racing.

I don’t know where to start looking for answers. I know one thing for sure, my grandmother would never lie to me. She is the most straightforward woman I have ever met and I admire her deeply for that.

“What is it my sweet boy,” her voice is soft, but a little croaky with her old age.

“I’ve been wanting to know more about what started the war with the Midnight pack all these years ago. I have only ever heard Zane’s side of the story.”
