Chapitre 29: CELINE'S FEAR OF JANE
"If I may find out, what did you just find out?"
Jane's hands were now on the shoulders of the man beside her. The woman gave David a gentle stroke on the back with a feeling that was hard to describe.
David who heard that immediately turned to the side where the person was before finally sighing. The man lowered his head again with his hands covering his face.
"I can't say right now," he said. "Forgive me."
"Well, if you're not ready to tell me, I don't mind. However, I beg you to stop blaming yourself for what happened to your sister right now."
"But I'm a failed big brother, Jane."
"No, you've done the best you can for your sister and I believe in that."
After that, the sound of the phone ringing made David, who was originally sad, have to answer the incoming call first. The man immediately took his phone out of his pocket before finally standing up from his seat.
"Go on," said Jane, smiling. "Let me take care of it."
David, who was still silent in his place after knowing who had just contacted him, immediately turned to look at his best friend before finally speaking.
"Okay, thanks for your concern. I'll leave Celine with you, okay?"
Hearing that made Jane immediately nod her head so that now the woman saw that someone she loved so sincerely smiled at her so she finally nodded and waved her hand at David who had just walked away from away her.
Jane sighed again, then saw the open door of the room indicating that Celine had finished being examined by the doctor. The woman smiled kindly and was looking forward to it.
"How are things, Doc?" she asked.
"Thankfully, for now, her progress is quite good and not like before. However, she must continue to maintain her health so that she recovers quickly."
"Okay, then thank you very much."
"Yes, you're welcome. Then I'll excuse myself, okay?"
"Yes, Doc."
After a while, the doctors and nurses left, and Jane finally got up the courage to go into the treatment room where her best friend's sister was.

"Hello, what's the matter Dad contacted me?"

"I'll only hear you, if you stop intruding on my private life, Dad!"
There was a sigh from the other side which made David raise an eyebrow.
"David," called the old man. "I'll wait for you at home tomorrow night, understand?!"
"But Dad?!" David stammered. "DADDY!"
Before the man could continue his words, it turned out that his father had spoken before finally disconnecting the call. Knowing this, David immediately looked at the screen of his phone and then chuckled in annoyance.
"I'd be really lazy if I had to attend, but the old man didn't give me one chance."
David felt dizzy thinking about his father who kept doing whatever he wanted until the man finally decided to return to the room where his sister was being cared for.

Celine's gaze has never left the person in front of her who is currently preparing something for her.
"Celine, you must be hungry right?" said Jane. "I've brought you something, I hope you like it too."
There was silence for a while until finally, the surprising answer that just came out of the mouth of a girl who was lying on a gurney at this time was able to make Jane startled.
"I'm not hungry, you should just go."
Jane who heard that just stood still in place after knowing that Celine didn't like her being there.
"Celine!"
The sound of someone calling her made Jane and Celine immediately turn their eyes to a man who was currently standing in the doorway. There was something different about him that took the two women by surprise.
David's gaze this time was completely different from before, which made Jane worried that her best friend would scold the girl.
"Brother," Celine said smiling. "Where have you been? I've been waiting for you for so long."
"What are you doing?"
"What?"
David immediately shook his head after knowing that Celine was acting as if nothing had happened in front of him.
"Hurry up and apologize to her."
Celine's brow furrowed hearing that. "What do you mean? Why should I apologize to her?"
"Celine." David tried to contain his anger when his younger sister refused his orders by closing his eyes before finally looking back at the girl who was in front of him at this time. "Hurry up and do it!"
"Tch!" Celine snorted then turned her face the other way in annoyance.
In contrast, a woman who was back there who saw it immediately felt worried.
"David, come on, there's no need for you to be like that to her. Besides, I understand, it might take me some time to get close to Celine."
"I can't, Jane. I don't like seeing her act like this."

After that, the man who heard it immediately approached Jane who was currently pleading with him with a pitiful face before he finally sighed, and then he pulled the wrist of a woman who was in front of him at this time to walk out of the room.

"I understand how you feel, David. But I beg you to trust me that Celine just needs time for now."
"Jane, I don't understand you, why are you defending her instead?"
Jane's gaze never left looking at the two beautiful bright brown eyes that made the man in front of her soften instantly.
"Because she's Celine, I can feel the fear in her from the way she looks at me."
"What do you mean by fear?" asked David with a furrowed brow. "Does Celine have any depression you say?"
"I don't know, but I feel that Celine is afraid of losing her loved ones and leaving her. That's why she behaved like that to me."
"You mean she's afraid you'll take my attention away from you?"
Jane who heard that immediately nodded her head with a smile that made David lower his head languidly.
