As they rushed Aunty Bing to hospital, Grandma returned to the living room and noticed Yang sitting on the edge of a chair, looking around wide-eyed. With a sharp tone, she said, "Do you have any sense? Sitting there with the adults, staring at their faces. Where's your upbringing? You clearly don't have any!" Yang quickly got up and left the living room, and Grandma gave him a pointed look. She then moved closer to the General and said, "We may look calm, but that's just stubbornness. In truth, we're shaken by this situation. That woman, she's Zhan mother's sister, but she loves him more than his own mother does. She raised him from childhood, and the way she loves him, not even her own children could compare. So, naturally, she's overwhelmed with joy; she fainted from happiness!"
The General replied, "I see... I wish her recovery." Zhan, who had been watching his Grandma, stood up and left the living room. Grandma said, "Now, the first favor I ask of you as my son is to allow me a team of soldiers, even if it's fewer than twenty. This worthless man my granddaughter married has completely changed her appearance through his constant beatings. If I saw her on the street, I wouldn't even recognize her as my granddaughter..."
Paa couldn't lift his head due to embarrassment, thinking how he wished she hadn't come to the house. Ren, too, kept her head lowered. Aunty Yu cast an annoyed glance at Grandma and said, "Oh, for heaven's sake! We came here for a different purpose, and now you're bringing up other issues..."
Grandma spun around to look at her and said quickly, "From the way you're speaking, it doesn't sound like you have any real connection to the General. So, who exactly are you? Didn't he just introduce us to his wife over there, Lee's mother? And the woman sitting beside her is clearly her sister, even a blind person could tell. So, who are you?"
The General asked, "Where is her husband, Shi Ma ?" She turned to him and replied, "I'll go check." She then went to Bing's room, where Shu was hiding, avoiding everyone because of her swollen face and lips that looked like a camel's. Her injuries were obvious to anyone who saw her. Grandma said, "Pull yourself together and come to the living room. There are soldiers here that Deity's has sent to us without any cost. Let them see you, so they know what sort of beating this worthless man has inflicted on you." Shu looked at Grandma and replied, "I'm not going anywhere."
(For those who wonder, Shu is a daughter of Zhan's Uncle, elder brother of Mr. Xiao)
Grandma replied, "You're truly impossible. Here I am, trying to help you, and you're making it difficult for me. I've been dealing with your issues all this time." Shu lay down and turned her back to Grandma. Frustrated, she left the room. Before Grandma returned to the living room, Paa quickly told the General, "The husband isn't here, but he has already spoken to his family, and there's nothing alarming. They'll handle everything."
When Grandma entered, the General said, "Alright then, we've discussed everything; we'll go meet him." Grandma replied, "May the Jade bless you and grant you a peaceful life. May He also reward us for the way we've cared for your son...with complete integrity, without deceit. We've fed him, clothed him, provided him shelter, and never failed him. We even allowed him a car so he could go wherever he pleased. I'd prefer Lee over my grandsons because he respects me far more. Now, let me go to my eldest son's house and bring him here so he can greet you with the utmost respect."
The General replied, "Well, I'm expected back soon, Shi Ma. But before I leave for Shanghai, we'll meet him." Aunty Yu kept glaring at Grandma, itching to see her leave so she could finally get to her own matters without wasting more time.
Lily and Aunty Bella watched Grandma like they were looking at an alien, both a bit bewildered. Ren was embarrassed to the point she wished she could vanish. Grandma had no filter whatsoever.
After the General, his friend, and Paa left, Ren looked at Aunty Bella and said, "Let's go to my part of the house and rest." Aunty Bella stood up first and followed Ren, with Grandma trailing behind her. Once inside the living room, she asked, "Who exactly is that strange woman you brought with you? She looks nothing like any of you or even the General, yet she's acting like she's above all."
Aunty Bella smiled and replied, "That's General sister, Grandma." Grandma widened her eyes, surprised, and said, "His sister? Well, she doesn't match him in complexion, nor do they look alike at all, to be honest." Aunty Bella explained, "They share the same mother, but she was raised with her father's side of the family." Grandma held her chin thoughtfully. Ren poked her head into the living room and said, "Mrs. Wang, come on in." Aunty Bella looked at Grandma and said, "I'm going to the restroom," and entered Ren's bedroom.
Grandma muttered, "So that cheeky woman is trying to act superior."

After just two hours in the hospital, Aunty Bing was discharged and they headed back home. The doctors had only dressed the wound on her forehead and treated her dislocated wrist, giving her some painkillers. When they arrived, the soldier who had driven them parked the car, got out, and opened the door for her.
Aunty Bing stepped out carefully, her forehead wrapped in a large bandage and cradling her injured wrist. She looked around the house like she hadn't seen it in ages, her wide-eyed expression making it seem as if she'd been bedridden for months.
Zhuo got out of the car as well, having sat beside her in the back seat.
YiBo also stepped out from the front seat, holding a bag of her medication. Supporting her uninjured arm, Zhuo helped her towards the house while YiBo followed closely behind. Inside, only Lily and Aunty Bella were present. Grandma had gone out to spread the good news of her recovery to family and friends, while Aunty Yu had left and went to town shortly after General's departure, likely to find a solution of her own.
Before leaving, General had left Paa a considerable sum, covering the groom price for Zhan and any other expenses YiBo had missed at the wedding. Each person in the household had also received an envelope with money inside.
Since taking Aunty Bing to the hospital, Ren had stayed in her room with Aunty Bella and Aunty An, while Lily chose not to join them despite Ren's efforts. She hadn't eaten, not even the snacks, aside from taking a bottle of water, which she set aside without drinking.
Meanwhile, Aunty Bella finished her meal and even snacked more, chatting with Ren like they'd known each other forever. She didn't hold back, sharing all the events from Shanghai, including YiBo's hiding the fact that Zhan was his husband for nearly two months.
Ren didn't know what to say.
Just as Aunty Bella was about to bring up the video of Zhan that still weighed on her mind, Aunty Bing and the others returned from the hospital. Ren got up and told Aunty Bella she'd check on Aunty Bing. Ren, along with Zhuo, followed Aunty Bing to her bedroom, where she carefully lay down to avoid disturbing her wrist. Zhuo placed the bag of medication YiBo had given him in the bedside drawer, and Shu lay quietly at the end of the bed. Ren looked at her and said, "How are you, Shu? I came by earlier, but you were asleep."
Shu didn't respond. Ren turned to Aunty Bing and asked, "Should I bring you some food?" Aunty Bing shook her head quickly but didn't say anything. Ren said, "Alright, may you recover swiftly." She then left the room and returned to her part of the house, where she found Lily in her living room. "Mrs. Wang, would you like anything to eat?"
Lily replied, "No, thank you. Is the patient back so we can check on her? We'll be heading back to Shanghai soon."
Ren nodded, "Yes, they just got home." Lily said, "Then let's have Bella come so we can check on her and prepare to leave." Ren went to get Aunty Bella, who came out, and Lily informed her, "General said there's a military plane heading to Shanghai today, and there's room for all of us."
Aunty Bella asked, "When does it depart?" Lily replied, "Soon." She stood and turned to Ren, "Where's the patient's room?"
Ren led them to Aunty Bing's part. From the moment they entered, Aunty Bing watched them closely, though she struggled to respond to their greetings. Lily said, "May you recover quickly and regain your health." With a shaky voice, Aunty Bing replied, "Thank you." Aunty Bella observed her for a moment, recalling everything Zhan had told her, then pursed her lips and left the room.
Lily didn't return to Ren's quarters but sat in the main living room, waiting for the convoy to come back and pick them up. It didn't take long before they arrived. Ren had packed the remaining snacks for them, and Aunty Bella thanked her. Watching Aunty Bella, Lily said, "Call Yu." Aunty Bella took out her phone and dialed Yu, and as soon as she answered, Aunty Bella said, "We're heading to the airport now, Ms. Yu"
Aunty Yu replied, "Honestly, I'm quite far away. Just go ahead, and if I manage to get a late flight, I'll catch up." Aunty Bella didn't say anything more and ended the call.
Zhan emerged from Zhang's room after his mother had gone in earlier to notify him they were leaving. Aunty Bella looked at Zhan with a smile and said, "You're traveling with YiBo, dear…" Zhan just lowered his head without responding. He said goodbye to Lily as they were about to leave, and Lily returned the farewell before stepping out of the living room.
Ren walked them to the gate and only went back inside once they'd left.
She found Yang sitting on a bench, looking rather gloomy. She looked at him and asked, "Are you okay, Yang?" Yang spoke in a low voice, "I keep thinking if I ever wronged Lee somehow. You know, living together, we could clash at times, but honestly, I can't think of anything I did to him, except maybe unknowingly. We lived together just fine, at least from my end. But I'd always wondered where he got the money for us to feast on grilled meat worth nearly fifteen thousand Y every night, along with expensive soda. Sometimes, he'd even ask me to buy it while he stayed at the gate. I stopped eating dinner after a while because we'd fill ourselves with so much meat, chocolate, and fancy biscuits...
"I still have bags of them piled up in my room. We got along fine until he left the house. Sometimes he'd give me Ten or Twenty thousand out of the blue. I thought he was just living off his driving salary. Who would've thought all this was going on, only Sheng and Lin caused him so much trouble here? Only General knows how to handle them now."
Ren smiled at him and left him there, returning inside. She found Aunty An and Zhan in her living room, and after sitting down, she looked over at Zhan. Aunty An said, "It seems like Yibo's mother wasn't happy about their marriage, sister." Ren smiled a bit but didn't respond. Zhan was quietly fidgeting with his fingers, and Ren said softly, "I noticed that too."
Aunty An sighed, looking at Zhan. "What was it like for you in their home in Shanghai, Zhan?"
Zhan looked up and replied, "That's just her way. She doesn't talk much, and…she isn't friendly, but she is kind."
Aunty An asked, "Did she show any disapproval while you were there?" Zhan shook his head, "No." Aunty An said, "Well, may it be well." Ren couldn't quite figure out why she wasn't happy with the way things had turned out, perhaps because of Lily's reaction...she wasn't sure.
Despite Ren's best efforts to convince Zhan to go check on Aunty Bing, he refused outright. Aunty An said, "Oh, don't push him, Sister. You've already checked on her yourself."

Close to sunset, YiBo arrived at the house. As he opened the gate, Yang quickly stood up and, full of respect, greeted him with, "Welcome, Sir," raising his hand in a formal salute like he'd seen the soldiers do. YiBo looked around for something to throw at him...
At around 7 p.m., Zhuo took Shu to the hospital. Aunty Bing had been waiting all day for them to leave. As soon as they were gone, she hurried to her bathroom, shut the door, and dialed Ms. Tu's number. When Tu picked up, Aunty Bing, in tears, said, "Earlier, when we were talking, my sisters came in, so I had to hang up, Tu."
Utterly distressed, she sat on the bathroom floor, put her phone on speaker, and began to cry out, clutching her head. "Tu, I'm in deep trouble, deep trouble. I've never been so shaken, Tu. I've never been this distressed. General Wang himself showed up at our house today with his wife. The convoy stretched from one end of the street to the other, with soldiers like they were ready for war. Tu, you once suggested that maybe YiBo was putting on an act because he doesn't look like someone who's ever known hardship, and I insisted that he's from a rural village... that it was just his fair skin giving you that impression. Tu, it turns out he's been lying all along. He's actually from a distinguished family. Tu, he's none other than Wang Hong's son."
She burst into tears as if someone had just passed away. Tu, who was just as shaken by the story, asked, "Wang? Did you just say General Wang? You're confusing me. Isn't that young man Leo his fiancé? Or how does it all fit?"
In tears, Aunty Bing replied, "I'm telling you, it was General Wang himself who came here and said YiBo is his son! Why bring up Leo? Obviously, Leo's been lying to everyone, one of those shameless kids using big names to deceive girls. And I'll tell you, if not for this lie he told him, where else would his video have been circulating, let alone that his father had to arrange his marriage? It was all Leo's fault! He tricked me! Without him, he would have kept on with his affairs and no one would have known. Tu, find me a way out of this, I beg you. My heart will burst if Zhan stays married to YiBo. He's the real son of the General, I'm telling you. And his mother… she's probably half American adorned with all their gold and diamonds."
She broke into a fresh bout of sobbing, shaking her head as she said, "And it was Zhang and YiBo who got close in this house first, spending time together and chatting. But I found a way to separate them, I was so determined. They even called each other...I stopped him by force. If only I'd known! I'd have fought with everything to ensure he married Zhang my Son. But I misjudged him completely."
Tu sighed and said, "This is bad. So, they've gone back to Shanghai with Zhan?"
Still sobbing, Aunty Bing replied, "How would I know? I haven't heard a word from them, so I guess they must have. Even Zhan hasn't come in here to see me since. My brother-in-law just came in earlier, telling me about the millions General Wang handed out to everyone here." Tu's eyes widened, and she said, "Bing, don't waste your tears. But they don't know about the video that leaked recently, right?"
Aunty Bing fell silent, then said, "No, I don't think they know. Who would want their son marrying a boy like that? If they'd seen it, they'd have forced YiBo to divorce him back in Shanghai."
Tu replied, "Then just pay a few popular bloggers...maybe five of them...to get the story trending again, nice and hot. Before you know it, it'll be all over the place."
Slowly, Aunty Bing asked, "Really?"
"Yes, absolutely," Tu assured her. Aunty Bing wiped her tears and said, "How much do you think I should send them?"
Tu said, "Just five hundred thousand each. It'd be best to get six reputable bloggers."
Aunty Bing replied hesitantly, "Tu, there's only one ring left now; we've already sold the rest to the sheman's and native doctor's ."
Tu assured her, "But hasn't every need been met? You just have to make one more sacrifice to get what you want. When you're rich, you can buy anything you need."
Aunty Bing took a deep breath and said, "Alright, Tu. Thank you, i wish our friendship last long. I'll send Lian over with it tomorrow. I can't go myself with this swollen hand."
"No need," Tu replied, "I'll come by myself tomorrow."
Aunty Bing said, "Alright, thanks. See you then." With that, she ended the call, feeling an immense relief settle over her. If Zhan became the General's Son-in-law, even if she walked around naked, she'd still find a way to separate him from YiBo.
She stood up and went to the door, only to see Paa standing at the bathroom doorway. She dropped her phone, flustered, and stammered, "Bro…when did you come in?"
"Just came to use the bathroom," she added, Paa is simply looking at her. Then he turned away and slowly left the room.
Her hands started trembling as she kept repeating to herself that she was finished. She barely managed to step out of the bathroom and noticed the bag of fruits he had left for her on the floor....
