Chapitre 1: Alcard -

Magic Concord (Volume 1)
-
"I know I have to get out of here."
Alcard took a light breath, gently opened the large metal door, and smiled helplessly seeing three Cave Spiders pretty close...
"Well then..."
"Impossible to leave..." he muttered to himself, softly closing the door again.
Alcard was inside an old, dark elf research laboratory.
He was here to conduct a simple research task and learn alongside the mage organization he had just joined and only been part of for two months.
He was a novice mage and hadn't expected to encounter such a situation.
"You have to trust yourself, Alcard..."
"You have no other choice..."
Alcard began examining the 20-square-meter room he was in. Aside from a stone table, a chair, an old bookshelf, and a spellcasting table, he thought there was nothing visible that could possibly be of use.
"Come on..."
"There has to be something in this room."
He whispered to himself, searching for anything that might help. He rummaged through the bookshelves and touched the walls in hopes of finding a secret door, but for now, nothing had happened.
"What am I going to do?" he thought as he sat on the round stone chair and placed his hand on the table.
At that moment, he heard a small sound.
"Click."
The simultaneous act of sitting down and placing his hand on the table had triggered a mechanism due to the angle and manner of his action.
"Hmm?"
A small circular area opened beneath the stone table, and a white book appeared in front of Alcard's eyes.
Alcard didn't know what the book was, but the fact that it was in a hidden compartment meant it could be valuable.
He gently reached out and took the book.

As soon as Alcard touched the book, a profound transformation occurred in his mind. In a matter of seconds, Alcard experienced a dream-like trance.
"I..."
"I am... Alcard Aristo..."
"I am not from this universe..."
"I was, at least in the past, from a planet called Earth, a completely different universe with different rules of life and existence."
When Alcard came back to himself, he saw that the white book was slowly turning to dust, and after a few more seconds, the large white book vanished as if it had never existed.
Alcard took a light breath.
"...."
"I know exactly what I need to do," he said.
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted something that hadn't meant much to him before—a cylindrical-shaped Dark Elf storage container. He opened it and took out three faintly glowing, silver-colored stones.
"How foolish I've been."
"I've been a student at Bluecastle Magic for a month, yet I didn't recognize the Silver Moonstones and Dark Elf Container, which the Dark Elves use as a power source and a container, as the name suggests."
Alcard took a deep breath and placed the stones on the table.
"Right outside the door, there are three cave spiders."
Alcard began thinking about the size and potential danger of the cave spiders. In that moment, he realized something. It wasn't particularly strange, but it was significant to him.
"Why can I remember everything so easily?"
"I'm someone who's confident, but I didn't know I had such a good memory and could think this clearly."
Alcard swallowed lightly and closed his eyes. In his mind, the Cave Spiders were vividly clear—large, brown spiders, the size of a lioness. Their speed and physical strength were detailed in the book Common Dangerous Creatures that he had read, and Alcard could remember everything with perfect clarity.
"This... changes a lot," he murmured to himself and began to focus.
"There's no way I can leave this room without killing the cave spiders. There's a high chance they'll notice me sooner or later, and if they gather at the door, it'll put my life in great danger."
Alcard started pacing and repeatedly inspecting everything around the room.
"Now I understand better..."
"There's really not much difference between magic and science. The rules are just different. With the intelligence and memory I have now and the materials at hand, I could either cast a protective spell or create something to protect myself."
"Think, Alcard."
"Think..."
He looked carefully at the Silver Moonstones.
"Alright..."
"I have a magical energy source. Every spell requires an energy source."
"For powerful mages, it can be one of the energies they create within their own bodies. And for weaker mages, like me, we directly use external energy sources."
"Silver Moonstones are suitable for me to use..."
"A source of magical energy, a magical incantation to direct that energy, and a magical language or tool to channel it are required."
Alcard smiled slightly and, after rummaging through the shelves, noticed a small gap on the right side. In the gap, there were about five to ten different iron materials in various shapes.
"It takes solid technology and knowledge to shape these materials like this." Alcard thought as he began gathering the materials with his hands.
He had always known about these irons—at least where they were—but before touching the white book and before learning about his old memories and past, they had meant nothing to him.
"Whatever has happened to me, my intelligence and memory have improved significantly."
"Remembering my old memories from Earth has also boosted my creativity."
"I just need to focus. Once I escape this danger and save myself, I'll have the chance to think through everything."
he thought, placing his hands on the table.
"Rods, hollow and solid triangular iron pieces, and square pieces..."
Alcard smiled slightly.
"With these parts, I can craft a magical crossbow and create a low-level golem to fight for me. Even if it's not strong, it can at least serve as a distraction."
Normally, Alcard wouldn't even have thought of saying or doing something like this. But now, things had changed.
The ability to recall knowledge wasn't just about remembering—it was about comprehending.
Alcard wasn't just remembering the information; it felt as though he had practiced whatever knowledge he had thousands of times.
"Yeah.."
"I think I got a solid plan in my hands." Alcard said to himself and smiled.
