Despite having studied anatomy back in high school, I had never encountered such a ghastly sight, especially the visceral horror of seeing a brain exposed in such a gruesome manner.

The scene was a macabre tableau, with blood staining every surface, burnt flesh filling the air with its acrid scent, and the remnants of unspeakable acts scattered around us.
