Chapitre 33: Chapter 33: I will never let you down

My mind is quite literally torn right down the middle.

On one hand, I am thrilled that my mother met Felix and she actually was decent and fair. She asked a lot of questions, some of them a little more personal than I would have liked, but at least she was engaging with him. She even smiled a few times throughout dinner.

On the other hand, mom handed Felix an informal packet of dos and don’ts, best practices, and guidelines he should be practicing while around me. The title of this packet was “Rules of Engagement.” Felix wasn’t going to show me, but I happened to hear it rustle when he removed his jacket before going to the bathroom.

I couldn’t believe my mother would do such a thing, and yet I could at the same time. I pace back and forth, the document rolled up into a tube in my hands, wondering if I want to call my mom and confront her about how she promised to behave herself or just let it go. I feel inclined to confront her.
