Narrowing his brows, Keno looked at her gently. The woman beside him continued trembling, pulling her skirt downward to avoid exposing more of her skin.

The woman who had been gentle moments ago slapped him, anger blazing in her eyes. "I'm not a whore! You don't know who I am, so you have no right to judge me!" she roared, tears forming in her eyes.

Keno was too stunned to speak, his mouth hanging agape. He could feel the sharp pain on his cheek, inwardly cursing himself for his thoughtless words.
