Lucius was indeed the one who came up with the idea of cutting the kite. If one were to say that Scarlett was indirectly blaming him, it wouldn't be entirely wrong.
Sitting in his chair, under the intense gaze of Jack, Lucius replied without flinching, "If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I deserve any criticism. She's right."
Jack's eyes nearly popped out of his head. He had assumed Lucius would side with him.
Scarlett, her heart in her throat, sighed in relief upon hearing Lucius's words. She added softly, "And you, with your habit of using others for your own gain, need to change."
Jack didn't immediately retort, instead turning his gaze back to Lucius. Lucius simply said, "Why look at me? If you have a point, make it."
Jack felt like he had a lump in his throat. Any argument he might have had seemed pointless now.
Holding the 'bald-legged' octopus kite, he asked indifferently, "So, are we cutting it or not?"
Lucius responded, "Cut it. Let's just get it over with."
