"Please come with me, ma'am," Doug said politely just after 13h00. His face serious, but a lop-sided grin tweaked the left corner of his mouth.

Last night when she and Curt met, he had a similar smile. When she asked him about it, he blew it off with nothing. They even called it an early night.

"Why?"

"Just trust me," he said whilst accompanying her to a jeep. Gallantly he opened the door. Inside, Alexi sat at the steering wheel with a huge grin.

"All will be revealed in due time come on, just enjoy the surprise," Doug said.

"Okay but …"

"No buts, you are under orders of the CO," he demanded. She raised her brows but let the tone slip.

The Russian's eyes avoided her and she laughed. He gave her a lopsided grin, without a word and they continued towards the village at an easy pace. The air buzzed with excitement.

The entire day Lee Ann acted all evasive and had to leave earlier. Now the men were acting weird.
