After a long and tiring ride, we finally got back to Courtney's home. Since Courtney had way more alcohol than I did, I was the one who drove. We barely said any words to each other. A part of me was skeptical if Courtney believed that I truly wanted to be with Arthur. She shouldn't believe that, right?

"I was wondering where you girls were. You two are dressed fancy. Where did you go?" Asked Mrs Williams.

"We were at a birthday party." I replied. Courtney didn't seem to be in the mood to talk and I knew her nother noticed this.

"Courtney. Emily just arrived from a journey and you're already taking her partying?" She asked in a stern voice. I had a nervous smile on my face. Mrs Williams doesn't know that I was the one who persuaded that we should attend.
