Synopsis
Bags of salt, spices and sugar stacked from inside the shop all the way out into the streets. Merchants loaded with goods going flooded the streets with their carriages.
The air was filled with fragrances emanating from all manner of spices. It was a prosperous, lively city at the side of the oasis. Sounds of metals being hammered and threads being woven were heard all over the place, as smiths and craftsmen were busy at work in their respective workshops.
The banner of the successor of the Kingdom of Swadia—Baron Kant—was hanging on the city gates. The citizens lived peaceful, happy lives, revering their lord from the bottom of their hearts.
Soldiers on the city walls armed with crossbows stood guard over the city, and footmen wearing mail armor patrolled the streets. The place was one of peace and security.

Écrire un avisAs the first reviewer it's my responsibility to tell all of you that it is a "SYSTEM" NOVEL!!!!!! *coughs proudly in front of mere mortals who will never get a system in their life* *Bows*
It's an alright novel, good idea but doesn't really stack up. My main problems come during chap 29 - 30. The "village" if you can call it that has the counsel house, bandit hideout, and 5 houses. If you read ANY kingdom-building novel then you understand at the start everyone pulls there weight to help build the foundation. However, the Author ignores all this and is already trying to build the currency. This is by far the stupidest thing I've seen and has annoyed tf outta me. It's not even the worst part, he pays the military and bandits but then ignores the normal workers, the farmers etc how does this make sense? Also, he then gives out all the food etc for free without putting a price on them. Doing this, why tf is he paying his people than when there is nothing to buy? You're literally just giving money away to someone who it will hold no value to. Instead of investing it to build up the foundations more and giving them better-living conditions. Adding onto this he is not treating everyone equally by just paying the military witch will then lead to outrage. He then wonders how he is so fcking broke. Another thing that is stupid is that the only way he can gain more of the money easily is to trade mystical items to the system which is explained as cornerstones of kingdoms, clans, empires.... No need for me to explain how stupid this is. Finally, the last straw for me is when he traded his food supply for a tiny bit of money that he shouldn't have even lost in the first place. For a village that was wondering how they will survive for more than 13 days to then trade their food supply for money (which the villagers have), it just doesn't make sense to me... food is essential for tiny villages. Adding onto this further any situation the mc finds himself in even if he himself from his own stupidity got him there is magically worked out by the system. Other than these things it was a great novel with an interesting idea. I loved the idea of a magical kingdom in the desert hidden from all. Plus it was interesting what lay further in the desert and the enemies witch lay near. Just couldn't stand the stupidity that I mentioned before.
Very bad story. Pros : 1. Kingdom building novel. 2. Good translation. 3. Based on Mount and Blade which i like. Cons: 1. Way to much wordpadding for make chapters bigger. They repeat the same thing like 5 times in one chapter and 3 times in the next just in case reader forgets it. 2. All the villagers in the territory are male and don't have a single name (atleast up to where I read). They seem to have emotions and talk, but for fks sake they might as well not. No names, no personality, only obeying orders. 3. MC got the memory of a goldfish. He worries about problems when the solution was something he got as a reward from a side quest just one day ago. Or maybe it was because the author made the mc forgot so he could add filler text to the novel. Such as all the way the mc COULD HAVE solved the problem if he DIDN'T HAVE the system. 4. There was one whole chapter which was just an essay about date palm trees. TLDR; Trash novel. Hope it won't get selected.
9 chapters in and word padding is already at work. How could he forget that he had Date Trees in his inventory? I mean, does he have a memory of a fcking ant? Also, he eradicated the Jackalans, the original inhabitants of the desert even the children just because they are in the oasis. You know, their own territory!? Also, the MC has the personality of a white slice bread, he tries to appears smart but really, he is just as stupid as the rest of the computer generated people that inhabits his territory. And to top it all off, this was not an original novel but a translated one. Meaning, it is just sh*t chinese novel all in all. I am seeing 5 star reviews in here and I honestly don't get it. Even the worst fan fiction of Harry Potter on this site is BETTER than this sh*t.
Spoiler de révélationNovel:绿洲中的领主 i am posting chinese name for those who want to read raw. Its a good novel, sometimes boring but still good enough to read. Anyway enjoy
im not even going to question why this novel has started translation again but thank you I really liked this novel and was sad when this was overlooked for some bad novels before
Another MC without brain that needs system to make decisions for him and steer his miserable life. Another MC without brain that needs system to make decisions for him and steer his miserable life. Nice plot but pretty repetitive. A lot of information is repeated. Like a lot, as if the author was just trying to pad words. This pattern seems to repeat al the way to 629. Around chapter 630, the plot changes. Let's talk about how different the plot is. At the end of 629, Kant says they will march to attack the undead in three days. At the start of 630, the undead have apparently been handled. Bunduk is the only remaining hero left from all the heroes he had previously and has seemingly lost his special powers and become an ordinary person. New characters and terms have appeared in place of the other heroes and the Mount and Blade terms. His subordinates seem to have become normal people and not just blindly loyal soldiers. The previous plot with the world nobles seems to have never happened and it basically forgets the whole system that the story is based on. The new plot is based on things that never happened in the original story. I looked for the mtl and the translation definitely follows the mtl. I really have no idea what happened. Maybe Mount and Blade finally caught on to what was happening and stopped the author from using those terms. The novel also ends in like 200 chapters, so idk how the author intends on ending a new story that started 3/4's through the story
Spoiler de révélationWhy is this out of the trial list. I think this book deserved a shot plus I pay some good coins for the chapters and I would pay more to see it goes 24 chapter a week
Great kingdom building novel, good enemies, good development and because it takes in a fantasy world we don’t have to hear about how china is the best country in the world.
I like the stpry but there are two mood points. One is the wordpadding, the story gets streched till its breaking point. At some points of time I skipped multiple pages, because the author just kept repeating himself. The other mood point is the regressing translation quality. After chapter 60-80 the quality takes a noticable dive. Translations for specific things get changed multiple times per chapter, words that don't seem to belong into sentenced and many more. It feels like the typical MTL errors that were forgotten to correct. A shame because at least 80 percent of those errors could have been corrected by simply reading through chapter once more before releasing.
yessss you picked this novel , I never lose hope and always believed that this would get picked. and the gods have answered my prayers and for that I spent coins for this novel and not fast pass
The translation quality is not great but decent! (Doesn't take away from your reading immersion) This is a pure army/kingdom building novel. Don't expect logical plotlines, character development or smart ass plot twists. If you want to read some pure army expansion, territory conquering and kingdom building novel. You did be missing a lot if you don't read this one. P.S: Watered down version, with no significant explanation for cheats, version of The World Online and The Lord's Empire. Quite original to distinguish itself from the above two novels, so if you have read the above two novels, I am sure you won't be disappointed by this novel. Webnovel editors? Publish it effing already.
Why isn't there any more chapters coming it's been more than a month and I'm thirsty for new chapters plz update it daily or a tleast frequently
I’m a sucker for a good kingdom building novel, this one’s really good and the settings original as well. I hope to be able to see what happens next~ 🐱 🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱
I liked the story until now, which is around 300 chaps.. the translation went awry a lot of times which was quite frustrating.. also does this thing have a map? like the map of dukedom of leo, the desert and senwaya range? its so confusing to imagine.. would have been better with a map.. i mean kingdom building ones gotta have a map right? ahhhh give me a map plz
500 chapter is and the conclusion it's:trash...yep kind of trash ,i regret Reading it, the translation it's decent, the story it's repetitive (like 70% it's just useless filler information ) the kingdom building it's quite nice actually but romance...it doesn't exist ,also kant killed quite few "beautiful girl/women" i can say he has a sadistic pleasure in killing girls...yea it's a trash novel, in final it's so repetitive and it's gets boring.
This is MTL quality! If sentences like the following wouldn't stop you from reading a good story go right ahead. Everyone else this one is not for you. "The light crossbow in the hand still pulled the arrow on the string, pulled the trigger to shoot at the bottom at the same time, still turned his head to urge loudly: “speed faster! Is your limp movement a sign that you have not eaten this morning? !”
Honestly not that bad but the wordpadding bothers me alot. It makes 3 paragraphs with each saying the exact same thing just in different format and the over repetitive use of the "did you know" for example: the use of 'date trees' and how it is considered the desert people's "bread" is wordpadded into a long paragraph that keeps appearing chapter after chapter to the point where you feel like its being shoved down your throat. If you dont mind the over use of wordpadding then you might enjoy this but its a pass for me.
A kingdom-building novel that's good. This site is seriously lacking on pure kingdom-building novel I've been reading since the beginning of Webnovel and I've only discovered 3 pure kingdom-building novels. 1. The World Online 2. Release that Witch 3. Sword of Dawn That's the only pure kingdom-building novel I've read in this site hope it will get chosen to make it 4
