Chapitre 503: Chapter 504: Seeing Through but Not Speaking Out

"Alright, the next course of action is happily decided. You lead the team to open the gate at the Giant King's Court, and I'll stay in Silver City waiting for you. Don't worry, I'll support you spiritually."

In the reception hall of Silver City, specially used to host The Fool's Emissary, Lynn clasped his hands together and spoke with a serious tone.

Sitting across from him, Klein was left speechless for a moment, but then he seemed to recall something, hesitating as he looked at Lynn.

Klein had suddenly remembered that the one guarding the gate at the Giant King's Court was a Wraith left behind by the Dark Angel, and the Dark Angel Sasrir had been Lynn's first guardian!

"Don't look at me like that. I know that's not Sasrir. At most, it's just a fragment of His will. The real Sasrir won't stop you from opening the gate." Lynn, seeing through Klein's thoughts, waved his hand and continued, "And the True Creator is still alive. He's the real Sasrir. But..."

Lynn shrugged and looked at Klein, "Even though it's not Sasrir, I still won't be going along for this operation." While saying this, he reached into his spatial pocket, pulled out a stack of scrolls and charms, and pushed them toward Klein and said.

"Consider these my contribution to your mission. Do your best to bring everyone back safely. And don't hesitate to use your 'cheats' when needed. I'll have the Angel of Secrets repair it for free once."

Hearing Lynn's words, Klein naturally understood the underlying meaning. Thinking of the "tragic" outcome from the original destiny line, Klein solemnly put away the charms and scrolls, saying, "I will bring everyone back."

The Chief and Elder Lovia had fallen just before dawn in the original timeline, and Klein was determined not to let that tragedy repeat itself!

"I believe in you. I will also head to the City of the Moon during this time. Hopefully, by the time the gate opens, we can leave as quickly as possible," Lynn said with a smile.

He truly had no intention of going to open the gate himself, especially since, even if it was a mere remnant of the Dark Angel, Lynn didn't want to erase it personally. That honorable task would be left to Mr. Fool, so that he wouldn't interfere with the ritual's effect.

"The Moon City..." Klein also remembered the residents, who had been guarding the edge of the Western Continent for so long. He nodded subconsciously, but then remembered something and looked at Lynn, asking, "Are you sure you'll be alright going alone? Without the Angel of Secrets, you're only at Sequence 4..."

"Did I not tell you? he and I have already reached a certain level of initial fusion. In necessary situations, I can borrow power from him!" Lynn feigned surprise and looked at Klein, smiling mischievously as he said, "So, even though you're a higher sequence than me right now, if I really wanted to, I could knock you down with one hand. Otherwise, how do you think he trusted us to travel alone with the Amon ball?"

Klein was speechless but felt much more at ease.

Because the exploration team from Silver City was still waiting, Klein didn't delay for too long. Soon, with Lynn's "sponsorship" in hand, he and Colin, along with others, set out.

Watching their backs as they left, Lynn fiddled with the Amon ball that had been temporarily entrusted to him, and suddenly laughed softly, saying, "Tiny Amon, do you want to try resisting? Now that everyone else is gone, and I'm just a weak, helpless Sequence 4, it's not certain I can suppress you."

Amon, who had gotten used to living inside the crystal ball and was currently sipping a cup of tea from who-knows-where, glanced at him and said, "You're not really split, are you? Lynn and the Angel of Secrets are the same person."

"Why do you say that?" Lynn feigned confusion, widening his eyes as he looked at Amon.

"The way you control the Angel of Secrets is no different from how I control my higher-sequence avatars," Amon said slowly.

"Wow, not bad for the ancestor of avatars! Impressive!" Lynn clapped his hands like a seal, making a joke in his response.

"Do you think I'm the only one who noticed? Your little Seer might have figured it out too," Amon responded in a sarcastic tone, clearly sensing the mockery.

"Of course, I know he might have noticed. But does it really matter? Seeing through something but not saying it out loud—it's not always important to reveal the truth. For example, I've known from the beginning that Sasrir was ordered by the Sun God to watch over me. The affection He showed me was genuine, but it was also part of a command. He wanted Him to bind my humanity with emotions. But so what?"

Lynn, stroking his chin, gazed distantly in the direction of the Giant King's Court, smiling, "From that perspective, the Sun God really understood people well. He saw from the start that a monster like me could only be bound by emotions."

"And you did accept that affection." Amon, staring at Lynn, continued, "I don't quite understand. For someone like you, who prioritizes emotions in everything, wouldn't you care about the purity of those emotions the most?"

"Hmm, maybe because I'm a realist?" Lynn said, suddenly shaking the crystal ball hard, causing Amon inside to stumble and spill his tea, before laughing, "Hahaha, little Amon, don't tell me you've grown so old without realizing that relationships bound by both interest and emotion are the most stable? I'm way past the age of expecting pure feelings!"

Amon struggled to sit up inside the crystal ball, staring at Lynn. After a moment, he said, "We are indeed alike."

"No, I'm far more kind-hearted than you," Lynn denied seriously, then stretched lazily, "Alright, no more chatting, time to get back to business."

He was quite busy after all—not only with matters in the Moon city, but the Fourth Epoch had also reached a critical stage.

As he thought about it, Lynn's primary consciousness shifted to the Fourth Epoch, where the first thing he saw was a raging fire consuming the Tudor Empire's palace.

"Damn it, don't they know they shouldn't start fires so recklessly? Do they know how much it'll cost to rebuild?" Lynn lamented, shaking his head.

While Lynn was happily time-traveling in the Fifth Epoch, the war in the Fourth Epoch had quickly intensified. Thanks to the aid of several key allies, the Solomon Empire had gained a decisive advantage over the Tudor Empire. If not for the Tudor Empire's alliance with the Balam Empire, and Solomon's concern for the reactions of the Six Gods, the Tudor Empire might have already fallen.
