"Young miss, slow down!" Calla, Myrina Arden's personal maid yelled as the little Myrina ran down the hallways of the Arden castle, Calla chasing hurriedly after her charge, struggling to catch up.
Myrina Arden scoffed, turning to stick out a tongue at her personal maid, although Myrina loved Calla like an older sister the little miss Arden firmly believed her personal maid nagged far too much for one of such young age, it was quite annoying at times.
Myrina Arden picked up her pace, infusing her spiritual energy into her steps, her speed rapidly increased and soon Myrina caught sight of the huge double doors that led to her father's audience hall.
Myrina Arden attempted to stop but was unable to halt her movements in time and tumbled through the partially open doors, landing in an unladylike heap at the centre of the audience hall, all eyes turning to her.
"Grand entrance, I see?" The Lord Torsten Arden of Ardenurve asked his daughter whilst he and his generals laughed, Myrina lifted her head, passing her father an aggrieved look before tilting her head down pitifully.
Lord Torsten chuckled but rose from his throne and headed towards his daughter.
He crouched down slightly and lifted her up into his arms, returning to his throne and seating his daughter on his lap,
Myrina Arden buried her face into her father's chest, completely embarrassed.
"Lift your gaze my dear, these men here are my loyal generals and in time will also be in your service, they would not dare laugh at you." Lord Torsten assured his daughter whilst still chuckling.
"Listen to your father young miss, there is no need to be shy." A voice sounded when Myrina Arden failed to lift her head, Myrina Arden huffed, turning to face the speaker sharply.
"I am not shy at all. I am Myrina Arden, daughter of the Third Arch Prince, the revered Lord of Ardenurve, I do not know how to be shy." Myrina Arden dismissed in a lofty tone.
Lord Torsten Arden laughed heartily, his chest trembling with his booming laughter and the other Generals joined in laughing as well.
"Of course young miss, you are an outstanding little girl, whoever shall win your hand will be a lucky man." The annoying General who Myrina recognized to be General Gregor of the right platoon did not relent, Myrina Arden frowned at the General's words.
Myrina Arden recalled overhearing her father and mother discussing about the intentions of this particular General to have her married to his son,
Although the Lord and Lady had laughed about it but Myrina Arden took it quite seriously, which was why Myrina Arden had sought out the offending child and beat him up to a snotty nosed pulp,
Myrina had been even more disappointed when the child could not even fight back, bawling like a new born babe,
To even dare entertain the thoughts to pair her with his weakling son, Myrina Arden believed General Gregor was really too daring.
"Luck? What luck? No one is being lucky because I have absolutely no intentions of getting married." Myrina Arden informed the General and everyone else in the room clearly.
The audience hall fell quiet at Myrina Arden's words, even Lord Torsten seemed puzzled by his daughter's declaration.
"What does the young miss mean by such words? The young miss shall not get married?! Do not be silly, the young miss has to marry early so Fort Ardenurve will have it's next Lord." General Gregor lectured Myrina Arden,
He spoke slowly as though Myrina was a retard who was hard of hearing and had difficulty understanding, furthermore his implications were aggravating.
'What exactly did he mean by marry early so Fort Ardenurve could have it's next lord?' Myrina Arden pondered in annoyance.
Myrina knew both her parents were still in their early youth and the topic of birthing a male child in the future was not out of the question,
Even if it had been so, Lord Torsten was barely in his early thirties and still had numerous decades to rule Fort Ardenurve,
And yet General Gregor spoke as though Myrina's father was already at death's door, Myrina Arden truly disliked this general.
"Silly? Who? Me? In my opinion, General Gregor is the one being silly." Myrina retorted sharply, young Myrina Arden had never possessed a calm disposition and had always been painfully blunt in her speech.
"I am well aware of General Gregor's intentions for your son and I, hence I shall be frank with you... I will never, ever marry your son. Infact, I shall choose anyone else but that weakling!" Myrina Arden clarified angrily.
General Gregor's gaze darkened at Myrina's words as he fixed young Myrina with a threatening glare, perhaps hoping to intimidate her.
Myrina Arden released a scoff, her expression unfazed as she meet the General's glare head on with her own icy look.
"And to answer General Gregor's question, Fort Ardenurve already has it's next Lord. As my father's sole heir, naturally I shall inherit his position as Lord of Ardenurve and Third Arch Prince of the royal court of Vallarta."
"What I mean to say is, I have no intentions of getting married. I shall rule Ardenurve myself, so I would advise you all brace yourselves accordingly." Myrina Arden declared in a firm tone.
Lord Torsten Arden laughed boisterously behind his daughter, amused at the shocked look on the faces of all his Generals.
Seeming unable to understand a clear point, General Gregor spoke up again.
"A female as the next Lord?! Your highness, the young miss speaks outrageous words, such impossible things shouldn't even be said!" General Gregor exclaimed in outrage, Lord Torsten Arden released a quiet chuckle.
"Alright, alright, enough of this. You have all heard from my daughter already. If this is her wish, then it shall be as she says it,"
"With this, I believe the matter of my heir you have all been pressuring me about is resolved. Myrina shall succeed my legacy once she is of age, we shall inform the royal palace and the people accordingly." Lord Torsten Arden declared with finality,
Myrina Arden smirked, flashing General Gregor a victorious grin.....
