Chapitre 104: Intentions

***JAKE'S POV***

When we got to Alex's story book house, the whole family seemed happy and relieved to see us. They had feared that Alex's character, Scarlet, had died the night before. Poppy, the mother, had eyes that were red and swollen from the night spent crying and pacing the living room. It was clear that she hadn't slept at all. She was worried about her daughter and thought that she had died just like her husband. I could see it in her eyes.

The relief that she was feeling was palpable though. She was so happy that she wasn't about to bury another family member that she was sobbing again. There were happy tears this time though. The entire time that she was making plates for the three of us she was explaining to us how much gratitude that she had for me and my dad, Jasper.
