Chapitre 14: Chapter Thirteen
Billy didn't pick Lila up for dinner.
She sat around all evening in her cutest outfit waiting. He never showed.
Maybe he got caught up at the pool. Maybe Neil locked him away. Maybe he was taken by the monster.
Lila hoped that wasn't what happened.
Giggling from the front porch caught Lila off guard. Max and El soon walked in with shopping bags.
"Hi Lila!" Max smiled.
"Hi Max." Lila said giving a small smile. "Where's Billy?"
"Oh, I'm not sure. We had a girls day. I haven't seen him." Max shrugged. "Is everything okay?"
"No." Lila sighed before laying down on the couch.
"Monsters." El rolled her eyes. "The monster's got him. Lila doesn't believe."
"Monsters? What monsters!" Max exclaimed.
"Mind flayer." El replies.
"What? You gotta find him!" Max said.
"Fine." El sighed before sitting down in the floor.
Static erupted through the room. Lila looked over at El who now had a blindfold on. She sighed again before looking up at the ceiling. Spying on her boyfriend felt wrong.
"I found him." El spoke.
"Billy?" Lila hoped.
"He's with a girl." El replied.
Lila looked over at Max. Max frowned.
"They're eating dinner." El said. "He, He sees me."
"How?" Max asked as El ripped the blindfold from her eyes.
"Monsters." El shook her head. "We have to help her."
"No." Lila snapped. "My dinner."
"Lila." El said pulling on her arm. "They need us."
"Fine." Lila snorted standing up. "Come on."

"Who's ringing the door bell?" Max asked as the approached the house El had just seen in the void.
"Me. Hate Billy." Lila growled as she reached for the doorbell.
After ringing it repeatedly, the door swung open revealing Billy in a blue button shirt with his hair neatly combed.
Billy grinned at the sigh of three dripping wet girls. "Hello honey. What are you doing here?"
"What are you doing here?" Lila repeated back to him her arms crossed.
"I'm just having dinner. Heather, from work invited me over." He replied.
"Our dinner?" Lila raised her eyebrow pointing at herself.
"You know what, I completely forgot. I will be sure to make it up to you my dear." Billy smiled.
"Where is she?" El asked.
"Where is who?" Billy asked.
"Heather." She replied.
"Don't worry about it. Heather is completely fine!" Billy said through gritted teeth.
Lila had never seen him look so evil. It was scary for her. This wasn't her Billy anymore.
"Billy, who's at the door?" A girl's voice called out before appearing beside him.
"Hi girls. Would you like a cookie?" The girl, who Lila assumed to be Heather, asked.
"No, thank you." Eleven said before turning around and walking off the porch.
"Goodbye." Lila whispered as she held back tears. She followed Max and Eleven, tears streaming from her face.
"What the hell was that?" Max asked. "He's being too nice."
"That's not Billy." Lila sobbed.
"Don't cry, Lila. You deserve better than Billy." Max frowned grabbing her hand.
"I love him." Lila said.
"We can fix him." Eleven said. "But we have to be careful."
"Should we find the boys?" Max questioned.
"Yes. We need a plan."
