Chapitre 20: Rewards
"Five credits," said Jordis, "You have removed a threat that was very close, very close, to the Royal Academy."
"We will go and collect the corpse for materials. Of course, you can keep whatever you looted," another man said. He was fairly young, with dark skin and a muscular build, "That's all. You can go now."
Roran was inside a small conference room. The Board of the Royal Academy gathered there, and Roran was summoned after the staff heard about his deeds. He was rewarded handsomely, with five credits, and has received quite a lot of praise.
In plight of his fight, Professor Norman had advocated for one day of rest for Roran. It worked. Roran had another day off, free to do whatever he pleased.
But first, this battle had enlightened Roran on his own shortcomings. His Mana storage still wasn't very good, while his physical strength was still lacking. He also needed to learn how to fight without a weapon in case he ever found himself in that situation.
Roran needed ways to train his physical strength, and what better way than exercise?
Roran needed a routine, a set of plans designed for himself. He instantly went to search for a trainer inside the academy, who would teach him hand-to-hand combat, and also help him improve his own physical condition.
Immediately a person popped into his mind – Jordis.
Roran waited outside the conference room. A few minutes later, the Board all filed out of the door. Roran rushed over and talked to Jordis, "Hey Jordis. I need your help."
Jordis looked at Roran all strange, "What do you need?"
"A trainer, someone that can improve my physical condition and also tach hand-to-hand combat."
"Of course," Jordis sighed, "I should have known. Anyhow, a credit every lesson. Each lesson lasts five hours."
"Thank you," Roran said.
"First lesson, tomorrow, at five A.M., in front of your dormitory," Jordis said, his tone ending the conversation.
Roran nodded seriously, and then went the Royal Academy's blacksmith.
"I need some gauntlets, with these inserted as spikes at the first knuckle, ideally retractable at will," Roran showed the blacksmith the tiger's claws and teeth
The blacksmith frowned, "You'll need an Enchanter for the retractability, but I can do all of the rest. Of course, I can find an Enchanter for you, but it will be expensive, two credits."
Roran, without hesitation, gave two credits to the blacksmith, who proceeded to measure Roran's hands.
"Okay. Done. You can get your gauntlets in two days."
"Thank you."
Roran went back to his dormitory. He hoped to have some good quality sleep before his first lesson with Jordis.
