Chapitre 4: the story

Ella walked outside and across the street to a small park. When they cought up with her, she turned around.

"Why are you here?" She said. Her kind, shy demeanor was gone. She seemed somehow cold, yet fierce and powerful.

"I...I just wanted to see you. You haven't been at the cafe for awhile so I wanted to make sure you were okay."

She looked at him startled.

"Sean, I only talked to you once and you hunt me down at my school! Do you know how creepy that sounds!"

"Yes, I do now, I'm sorry. This lady came to the cafe looking for you and it seemed kinda odd. So I thought-"

"Wait, what did this lady look like? What was she wearing?"

"Um, she was dressed all in green. But why does that matter?"

"Shit! We have to go."

"Wait, what the hell is going on!" said Zmayah grabbing Sean's arm.

"Trust me, we need to go now!" said Ella grabbing Sean's hand.

"Ladies, ladies, please don't fight over me." said Sean with a grin.

"Shut up, and follow me. You have no idea what is going on but you need to trust me. This is going to get ugly if we do not get out of here. Come on, we will go back to my place and I will tell you everything."

They walked a few blocks down from the school till they came to a small neighborhood. They walked three houses down then turned left and walked up the sidewalk of a dark blue Victorian style house. Ella unlocked the door and walked inside.

"Okay, I have no idea what is going on. I thought you lived in a dorm room and what's up with bringing us here all mysterious like?" Zmayah asked, waving her hands around in the air.

Ella walked into the kitchen and paused over the sink. She took a deep breath then turned around.

"Ok, look...my name is not Ella."

"Yeah, the lady in green told me that. Your full name is Eliana."

"No, Sean, it's not. I won't tell you my real name for now. For now, you can just continue calling me Ella."

"Wait, who the hell are you then?"

"Shit, you're like a spy or something aren't you?" said Zmayah with her face in her hands.

"I'm not a spy, well not exactly. Do you both have passports?"

"What does us having passports have to do with this! Look, you need to tell us what is going on!"

"Okay, okay. Sean, do you remember the day you met me?"

"Yeah why?"

"Well, I was sort of under cover. See, I can't tell you everything but, I was looking into something. Something that involves child kidnapping, but that lady you saw, kinda took over things. She started asking me questions and I felt like it was best to take my leave. I was under cover as a different girl, I changed my look completely and played it off like I left the country but obviously, she wasn't fooled. But now that I know she is looking for me, I need to get out of here."

She said this all as she walked up stairs and began packing. Once she packed her clothes, she went over to a floor rug and lifted it up. She then pulled out a pocket knife, slid it in-between two floor boards; the boards popped up to reveal a stash of different types of cash, passports, IDs and handguns. Zmayah stood staring at the floor with her mouth hanging open.

"What the hell! You are a spy!" she said.

"No, no I'm not, at least not in a government sense. I work for people who basically do what the government can't, or won't.

"And you what? Want us to just believe all this and what about the passport thing? Are you trying to say you want us to go with you?" Sean asked looking completely bewildered.

"Yes and no, I asked because it is easier to change the identity on a current passport then to make a new one. Also, do either of you have family here?"

Zmayah sat down on the bed at this point and started breathing heavily.

"It's okay Zmayah, just try to breath." Sean said walking over to her and squatting down to look her in the eyes. "Hey, look at me, right at me, just breath. Come on, slowly now. There you go, in and out."

"What's wrong with her?"

"She has trouble breathing when she gets overwhelmed."

"Oh, well here." Ella picked up something out of the bag she was packing, walked over to Zmayah and injected something into her neck with a syringe. Zmayah looked up at her in complete shock, then passed out.

"What the F did you just do to her!"

"It's fine, I just put her to sleep to calm her down."

"Look, I don't know who you are but this is completely mental!"

CRASH!

Suddenly something smashed though the bedroom window.

"F! Run!"

Ella grabbed Zmayah and threw her over her shoulder like a sack of potatoes. They ran for the door, as soon as Sean's foot had crossed the threshold into the hall, there was in explosion and everything went black.
