Chapitre 25: Fairy's drop

The next day, when Dylan and Sherry were watching TV, someone rang the doorbell. It must be the children. Dylan thought to himself and followed Sherry to the door.

"Dawn? It's rare of you to come over." At the door was Diana's older sister, Dawn. She was about two years older than Diana, 11 years old. Dawn had vibrant dyed red hair and she had a slim build. She and Diana looked almost exactly alike when they stood next to each other.

"Good morning, Sherry." Dawn smiled and greeted.

""Good morning, Sherry!"" It turned out the other children had also came. They popped out from behind Dawn and greeted in unison.

"Good morning, everyone. What brings you here today?"

Dawn presented a basket of fruits to Sherry. "Mum said I said bring you a gift to thank you for making Diana exercise. She was worried that Diana would turn into a pig so she was overjoyed when she heard about what you did yesterday."

"Oh dear." Sherry accepted the gift. "I just watched them run, I didn't do anything special."

"No no, you don't know how amazing it is to make Diana run. I used to drag her to come jogging with me all the time but she never listened. So the fact that she voluntarily joined is amazing in itself." Dawn shook her head and said. "It's pathetic that she got muscle pains from that though."

"Hey! I ran for the whole day. It's only normal to hurt." Diana protested and puffed her cheeks in anger.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say." Dawn shrugged. "Anyways, can I watch what your doing today? I think it will be very interesting."

"Hm, sure. I don't see a problem in that." Sherry agreed without much of a thought.

"Yay! Then, are we going to head over to the park now?" Dawn asked.

"You wanna head over now?" Instead of answering Dawn, Sherry turned to face Dylan. That was when Dawn noticed the presence of another behind Sherry. He was a tall man, with golden hair, beautiful green blue eyes and a handsome face.

Dylan noticed the girl looking at him and smiled at her. "Nice to meet you. I'm Dylan." He said in fluent English.

"Ah, uh, um, nice to meet you too. My name is Dawn. I am Diana's sister." Dawn shyly introduced herself. She timidly shook his hand like a girl meeting her favourite celebrity for the first time and quickly retracted her hand. Truthly speaking, Dawn usually never reacted to this, not even to handsome and attractive people. But she was just caught off guard and hadn't been able to prepare herself.

"Shall we go?" Sherry said, interrupting the formation of a strange mood.

"Yeah." The children replied. Their muscles were also hurting from running all day but it was only their leg muscles that hurt, it wasn't that big of a deal.

The eight of them then went to the park. They stopped at the same place as yesterday. Dylan stood in front of the five children, Sherry and Dawn standing together with him. He stroked his chin with a smile like a mysterious ancient elder from those Chinese dramas Sherry loved to watch.

"Are you all suffering from muscle ache?" Divian flowed smoothly out of his mouth. It dawned on Dawn that Dylan was a foreigner at that moment, but she wasn't sure what language he spoke.

"He asked if you were all suffering from muscle pain." Sherry translated, her only job other than making sure Dylan doesn't go too far.

The children all nodded. Dylan nodded at this and opened his backpack. It was filled with water bottles and a first aid kit. Dylan secretly chanted storage magic and retrieved a small fruit from within. The fruit was called Fairy's drop. It was filled with magic and had restorative properties and was also a first class delicacy. Fairy's drop originated from the fairy realm and was extremely rare. It was an item with demand but no supply, priceless. However, Dylan was fortunate enough to befriend a fairy that had given him some fairy's drops.

"That is the delicious thing that he promised to give you yesterday." Sherry explained after seeing the children look at it with puzzled expressions. The children locked onto the fruit that was only the size of a table tennis ball. It was the colour of a rainbow, changing colours depending on lighting and almost seemed to glitter. The fruit gave off and aura of enticement or maybe it was just because it was something forbidden, something they failed to obtain.

Dylan said something again with his demon instructor smile and Sherry translated. "He said that to encourage you, he'll let you taste it. It's something really rare though, so he'll only give you a bit."

The children's eyes sparkled with desire. Even Dawn gazed longingly at the wondrous fruit in Dylan's hands. They watched as Dylan carefully cut the fruit in half and a fragrant sweet smell exploded from the fruit. The smell wasn't sickening sweet but instead it was soothing and mouth-watering.

Dylan smirked and gave the two halves to Sherry. She held it carefully, aware of its value and made sure to not spill even a small drop of its juice. Dylan retrieved the water bottles from inside the backpack and opened all of it. He emptied one of the bottles into his mouth and tipped the others into it equally until it was full again.

The children watched in puzzlement but Sherry silently assisted from the side. Fairy's drop was a really potent fruit. Too much and it would be poisonous instead. The children would die of magical poisoning, something caused by having too much mana and so they had to carefully dilute the juice. FYI, Sherry and Dylan had enough mana to eat the whole fruit without a problem.

Dylan received one half of the fruit back from Sherry and dripped one drop of it into the full bottle. He closed the lid and shook it to ensure that it mixed properly and then tipped the liquid into the other water bottles evenly until it was full again. Then he shook all of them. The whole time, he wore a serious expression on his face.

"Why is he doing that? How stingy." Diana complained. If he only put one drop in, how were they supposed to taste it? Diana was annoyed. Even now, she was still drooling from the smell. She hated it when people prevented her from eating.

"It's like cordial. You have to do that so its not too sweet." Sherry explained in the most appropriate way she could.

"But he only put one drop in six bottles of water!" Diana yelled in frustration. He was definitely teasing them again because they didn't manage to catch him.

"Uh, it's just too sweet for you guys. You'll find out when you drink it." Sherry noticed her anger and quickly snuffed it out. Diana was still peeved but she waited for Dylan to give her the water before complaining again.

Dylan popped the half fairy's drop into his mouth and chewed it. He gestured for Sherry to do the same with a heavenly expression on his face. The fruit seemed to felt on his mouth and envelop it with honey. The juice danced on his tongue and partied inside before sliding down his throat smoothly and nourishing it.

Sherry also ate the fruit with a greedy expression on her face. She had eaten it on a few occasions before but they were also during battle and used to heal her wounds and restore mana. She'd never had the leisure to properly savour the fruit. Sherry's face slackened as she chew, it was really too delicious! She almost wanted to eat her own tongue. Soon enough, Sherry found her mana being filled to the brim and her back pain heal itself. Earth's mana was contaminated unlike Diva's so it was a chore to purify it and absorb it. Sherry was always too lazy to recharge her mana and only did it when it was almost half depleted, which was almost never since she didn't use magic much anymore.

The children watched the two adults eat with relish. Their gazes were filled with envy.

"Didn't you say that it was too sweet to eat on its own?" Fiona pointed out.

"That's only for you guys. For us it's different." Sherry said. Her face still not recovered from the deliciousness. Before the children could complain, Dylan who had finished eating earlier, handed out all the water bottles. He even gave one to Dawn.

"There's one for me too?" Dawn said in surprise. Dylan smiled and nodded. Dawn gratefully smiled back. She too was salivating from the smell but didn't think she deserved it so didn't ask for one. But seeing that Dylan had given her one, she was filled with gratitude. Dawn observed the bottle in her hands. The liquid inside was a transparent rainbow colour like the sky after the rain. It was beautiful like no other liquids in the world.
