Chapitre 19: Woman in White

Dagon explained his dream to Sephtis, going into detail on the things that stood out the most to him. Sephtis had question where Dagon guessed the mountain could be, but Dagon told him that the visibility was so low it was impossible to tell.

"A silver dragon and a woman in white…" Sephtis mumbled. "Could it possibly be the top of Mt Fang?"

"Again, I have no idea." Dagon spoke. "All I know is that it seemed.. real. Like they were tangible beings, and they saw me. The dragon told me to leave.. and then… everything fell away beneath me and then I woke up."

"Strange… dreams like that are not exactly normal." Sephtis began, "Your mind cannot create faces. Any face you see in dreams is a face you have had to of seen before, and the same goes for dragons. Have you ever met a silver dragon? Or maybe the woman?"

"No. The only dragons I've ever met are the ones from when I was a kid up till now, I've never met a silver dragon."

"I'm not surprised, silver dragons are extraordinarily rare. It's a defect in the scales that causes them to lose their pigment but, in return, they become extremely durable."

"So, if silver dragons are so rare, does that mean you might know who the dragon is?" Dagon asked.

"Depends. How big was it?"

"Not sure, it was hard to tell, but it wasn't that big. If I had to guess, I'd say maybe around ten feet tall on all fours?" Dagon estimated, "It also had intense blue eyes."

Sephtis gave a low growl. "No. I do not know who that could be, I've never met a dragon like that."

"I see… I wonder.. do you think the girl could have been a Dragon Kin?"

"It's possible, especially considering she was approaching the dragon." Sephtis responded.

"I wonder if the dream was just that, or if it was something more.."

"Oh, it was most definitely something more than a dream."

"So.. then should we try to find them?" Dagon asked.

"Up to you. Honestly, we don't have the power to take on any of the Kingdoms' dragons or their Kin. Especially not while you are so wounded."

Dagon looked down at himself in irritation. The wounds across his body all stung to the point he did not want to move a single muscle, he just wanted to stay completely still. But at the same time, he didn't want to waste any time.

He looked up at the sky far above. He wondered where Gena had gone to.

"How long have I been out?" He asked.

"Two days. The Escalation took a lot out of you." Sephtis answered. "You want my honest opinion? We should focus on your recovery and then focus on training. Only after that should we worry about finding other dragons."

"No." Dagon shook his head slightly.

"What?"

"For now, we can stay here while I recover, but otherwise, when I'm healed enough I want to go find that girl."

"Why?"

"Because. If I had a dream about them, there must be something important they have for us. Maybe they are meant to join us. And the possibility that the girl is another Dragon Kin is just even more reason to find them."

Sephtis snorted. "I see. A girl. What, you looking to reproduce to revive the Dragon Kin?" Sephtis chuckled.

Dagon glared daggers at the dragon. "Haha, very funny. No, Sephtis. It is going to be hard for me to lead so many dragons at once, so I could use the help of another Kin."

"Granted if we can even find anymore dragons that is." Sephtis growled. "You really think they'll just show themselves to you? There is a reason they are in hiding."

"You revealed yourself to me."

"Because you practically walked up and bashed down my door, you disrespectful swine." Sephtis snorted.

"And yet look at us now, sitting in a cave wounded as friends." Dagon joked.

He could see the bandages, much like his own, wound around Sephtis's lower body. That was likely why he hadn't been moving the whole time.

"Friends?" Sephtis harrumphed, "Funny. We are not friends, boy, I am simply joining you in your journey because I hate the Four Kingdoms. This has nothing to do with friendship."

"Yeah. Sure." Dagon said with a grin. But that grin quickly faded as the thought of that woman returned to his mind. Who the hell was she? He couldn't recall seeing a horn upon her head… but why else would she be with a dragon if she wasn't a Kin? Wouldn't the dragon just kill her on the spot if she were human? It made not sense for her not to be a Dragon Kin. She had to be… he couldn't be alone.

"So they failed?" Mourtas asked a soldier who was knelt at his feet.

"Yes." The soldier spoke.

Mourtas sat upon a seat of stone, Zickarys laid down, curled about the throne. They were within a dark chamber dimly lit by flickering torches along the barren walls. The chamber itself was deep beneath the dragon prison, which was at the center of Annagon. The room was completely devoid of anything other than a simplistic table, shelf, and the throne itself on a raised platform at the center.

"Hmm. And what if the tracking stone?" Mourtas asked.

"The Kin severed their own arm." The soldier answered.

Mourtas's eyes raised with interest as he leaned forward, resting his chin on his knuckles. "Oh? He was willing to go that far, hmm? How.. intriguing.." he turned to Zickarys, stroking the dragon's snout. "I think we may enjoy toying with this one, Zickarys, what about you?"

Zickarys gave a low toned growl. "Yes, I'm impressed he was daring enough to remove his own limb to keep us from tracking him. I don't think we expected that."

A sudden crash from above interrupted their thoughts.

"What in god's name could that be?" Mourtas asked.

The soldier looked up and turned to face the large stone stairway behind him as the sound moved around and down. The man suddenly yelped, leaping aside as a Dragon Kin garbed in red robes strode in, red blistering flames coiling around his fists and his horn as a crimson dragon stormed in behind him.

"MOURTAS!!"
