They faced Sigmund who was to share his findings so far. He had bigger eyebags and was a bit paler than before, showing how much he worked for this.

Khalifa looked at the handsome man with warm eyes.

He really worked hard for this. She had been monitoring him and getting the servants to send him his meals, so she knew that he had holed himself in his lab, especially after Hugo and his team set up his special equipment there.

Sigmund felt her stare and met her eyes. There was nothing that changed in his expression, but she felt the atmosphere around him soften even by just a little. 

He wasn't distracted for long, however, immediately jumping to the topic at hand. "As agreed, I will report on my progress every week," he began, looking at her. 

"I studied your blood, everyone's samples, as well as some infected blood from others I received."
