Chapitre 4: Twenty-First Century

However, in the next second, the image in the mirror shattered Majin's inner thoughts.

As he stared at his reflection, a wave of shock surged through him. This wasn't the face of Zenin Majin he remembered—no, his features had reverted to what they were before he'd reincarnated in this world .

His once dark hair was now a pure, ethereal white, cascading down past his shoulders. His face looked younger, almost as if he'd been reset to a previous age.

But what caught his attention the most were his eyes—dreamy azure irises surrounded by snowy white eyelashes.

"This… this is Six Eyes? The Eye of the Sky!" Majin's voice trembled with disbelief as he leaned closer to the mirror.

The eyes staring back at him were unmistakable; they were identical to Gojo Satoru's from the original timeline. Could this mean Kenjaku had succeeded in genetically modifying him?

But wait—wasn't the main goal of his transformation supposed to be the Zenin family's Ten Shadows Technique? Majin's thoughts raced as he tried to reconcile the changes in his appearance with what he knew.

Given this body, he should be more attuned to the Zenin family's techniques. Yet, here he was, with eyes that shouldn't belong to him.

Majin focused inward, trying to feel the familiar pulse of the Zenin family's shadows within him.

But nothing. It was as if those abilities had been drowned out, unable to compete with the powerful genetics of the Six Eyes that Kenjaku had added.

"So… this is what I've become," Majin murmured, a mix of awe and confusion in his voice. He should've felt disappointed, but instead, he found himself intrigued.

Having the Six Eyes wasn't a bad trade-off, after all.

Yet doubt still nagged at him. Were these eyes just for show? Right now, he didn't have the 360-degree vision or the far-reaching sight that the Six Eyes were known for.

In fact, he couldn't even sense Li Zi standing behind him with these supposedly all-seeing eyes.

Majin took an instinctive step forward, only to feel a sharp sting as broken glass crunched beneath his foot. The shattered remnants of the cursed petri dishes had pierced through his worn-out shoes, cutting into his skin.

Bright red blood welled up from the wound, staining the ground beneath him.

He winced, glancing down at the blood seeping from his foot. But something strange caught his eye—the blood didn't just drip aimlessly. Instead, it seemed to respond to his will, forming thin, controlled streams.

"This is…" Majin whispered, his eyes widening as he realized what was happening. "Blood Manipulation?"

The ability to control his blood—it was a power he hadn't expected, yet it was right there, responding to him as naturally as breathing.

Despite the pain, a small smile crept onto Majin's face. This body, with all its peculiarities and unexpected abilities, was starting to feel like a blessing in disguise.

Majin was filled with surprise, completely ignoring the wound on his foot that was still bleeding.

Although he wasn't sure how to fully control the small beads of blood hovering around him, he quickly realized this ability must be the result of kenjaku's genetic modifications, using the remnants of the kamo clan's head's bloodline.

"I can actually use the Blood Manipulation?" Majin muttered, disbelief and excitement mixing in his voice.

This was a technique rarely seen, even among the esteemed Kamo family, one of the Big Three Sorcerer Families.

And yet, here it was, coursing through him. Could this mean that kenjaku's genes had taken hold in his body as well?

As the realization set in, Majin's mind raced. Right now, he possessed the Six Eyes, which likely originated from the Gojo family's genes, and the Blood Manipulation Technique from the Kamo family.

Yet, despite being born from the Zenin lineage, the abilities he was struggling with most were those of the Zenin family.

"Why am I struggling the most with mastering the Zenin family's techniques?" Majin thought, a frown crossing his face. The ten shadows of the Zenin family wasn't weak—it couldn't be.

After all, in the original timeline, Ryōmen Sukuna had chosen Fushiguro Megumi as his potential vessel, clearly valuing the power of the Ten Shadows Technique.

Majin shook his head in frustration. There was something he wasn't getting, some puzzle piece he hadn't yet put together.

His body, a strange hybrid of multiple powerful bloodlines, would require more time and effort to fully understand. But one thing was clear: his current abilities were a combination of the Gojo, Kamo, and Zenin families.

"Cursed Spirit Manipulation, Cursed Spirit Protection, Six Eyes, Blood Manipulation ," he murmured to himself, listing the abilities he suspected he now possessed.

If he could master even one of these, he would be a formidable sorcerer. But to have all four? That would make him unstoppable, perhaps even enough to dominate the Meiji era on his own.

Majin grimaced as he reluctantly used the blood manipulation ability he had barely tapped into to seal the wound on his foot.

The blood responded sluggishly, coagulating and closing the wound, though the effort left him feeling drained. He needed to recover, and soon.

With a heavy breath, Majin crawled out of the basement, his body aching from the effort.

The air outside was thick with decay, the remnants of the temple crumbling around him. He squinted at the ruins, his mind swirling with thoughts.

"The tent was destroyed not long ago," Majin muttered, observing the mess. "Could it have been the Jujutsu Master Association? But if they found this place, why didn't they come in to find me?"

Behind him, Li Zi let out a low, rumbling growl, her Cursed Spirit form bristling with energy.

"Huh? Li Zi, you mean someone with a scent similar to mine was here? And they're the ones who wrecked the place?" Majin asked, stroking his chin as he mulled over her words.

A scent similar to his… could it have been someone from the Zenin family? As Majin looked around, taking in the state of the decayed temple, a shock ran through him.

"What the hell? Didn't I just sleep for a few months? How did this temple end up like this?"

A suspicion suddenly gnawed at Majin's mind, a cold realization creeping in as he took in the dilapidated surroundings.

"Could it be that I haven't just slept for a few months but for much longer? Is it possible that it's not even the Meiji period anymore?"

Majin's expression darkened as the unsettling thought took root. Panic surged through him, and without wasting a second, he sprinted towards the cliff's edge. The moment his eyes met the sprawling, brightly lit city below, his worst fears were confirmed.

"This... this is modern. How long have I been out?"

The realization hit him like a truck. He hadn't just been in a coma for a few months—he had slept through entire generations, from the Meiji era to the present day. Based on the size and brilliance of the city, it was likely the twenty-first century.

"Li Zi, how many years have we been in there?" Majin murmured, though the question was more to himself than to the Cursed Spirit hovering behind him. "We need to figure out what this new world is like..."

His mind raced with thoughts, the dream of becoming a king in the Meiji period crumbling to dust.

Now, in this unfamiliar modern era, Majin suspected he had awakened in the most chaotic period ever portrayed in the original work.

This world was no longer the one he knew, and whatever power struggles existed, they were surely more complex than anything he had faced before.

With determination steeling his nerves, Majin, still clad in a kimono from the Meiji period.

Unbeknownst to Majin, his elongated shadow began to morph into various shapes—a dog, a rabbit, an elephant, a bird, a snake—each form flickering in and out, as if testing the limits of their newfound existence.

...

"It's been 150 years..."

The revelation came after he found a convenience store, his odd attire drawing strange looks from the modern-day patrons.

Upon asking about the current year, Majin learned that he had truly crossed from the Meiji era to the twenty-first century—150 years gone in the blink of an eye.

The knowledge settled heavily in his chest. The environment he had once known was gone, replaced by a world that was utterly foreign to him.

He was starving, his body weak from the extended coma, and only with Li Zi's help was he able to procure some food from the convenience store
