Some idiot injured my knee in training, and as I've been moving around a lot due to unfinished university business, I've run out of time to rest the injury properly. Fortunately, now that I've rested and taken medication, I feel much better, and the constant pain has finally subsided.

"That was raw cursed energy..."
After sending Ryu flying, Itadori clenched his fist with a cautious expression. In front of him, a trail of destruction caused by his powerful punch. Even though he hadn't landed a Black Flash, his punch, driven by his speed, should have been enough to inflict severe damage on someone of Jogo's level.
Still, he felt Ryu's body resisting his punch, a clear sign that the reincarnated sorcerer was far from being out of the fight.
Yuji sighed. He hadn't expected to face such a powerful sorcerer. Unlike Yuta, he didn't have reverse cursed energy to help him recover from one fight to the next.
Ryu must be strong. Forcing Yuta to push himself wasn't something just anyone could do, so Itadori wasn't going to underestimate him.
Even though he had blocked the previous attack, he had felt the pressure on his body, and the skin on his hand had been torn. If he had been even slightly weaker, or if he hadn't reinforced his body in time, he would definitely have been in serious trouble.
"Kogane!" Calling out to the shikigami, Itadori watched as the animated skull appeared cheerfully.
"Yes?!" it asked eagerly.
"What's that guy's cursed technique?"
Kogane paused for a moment upon hearing the question, seemingly searching for the information.
"Normally, I can't give out that information, but for you, I can make an exception!"
"I appreciate that." Itadori gave a grateful smile.
"His name is Ryu Ishigori, and his cursed technique allows him to fire concentrated blasts of pure cursed energy! He's really strong, so I recommend being careful!"
Itadori nodded and turned his gaze forward, noticing the debris where he had flung Ryu shifting slightly.
"He has to charge his cursed energy before firing, right?"
"Mmm..." Kogane thought for a moment before replying. "The longer he charges, the more powerful the blast."
"Got it, thanks." Itadori patted the shikigami on the head in gratitude. "Keep me updated if another sorcerer gets close, alright?"
Kogane nodded excitedly. "Normally, I wouldn't do that, but I'll make another exception!"
As Kogane disappeared, Itadori smiled briefly before turning his attention to Ryu, who was already emerging from the rubble.
"So, close combat is the best way to deal with this guy…" Itadori muttered, ignoring the throbbing pain from his torn skin. He clenched his fist as cursed energy danced around his body. "Looks like I'm the worst opponent for him."
"..."
When Ryu got to his feet, he immediately turned to face his opponent. Initially, he believed the damage to his abdomen was nothing more than a punch that hit his internal organs, but he was wrong.
Standing upright, he could clearly feel that at least one rib was broken, with others cracked. The pain was unbearable.
'This is going to take a while to heal.' Fortunately, he could use reverse cursed energy, though only at a level sufficient to immediately heal superficial wounds.
Such damage could be alleviated, but it would take at least half a day to heal to an acceptable degree.
This even made him reconsider his life-long decision to focus so much on enhancing his raw cursed energy...
'Nah!' With a toothy grin, he spat out some blood as cursed energy enveloped his body. 'No use dwelling on the past, because right now…'
Taking a step forward, his eyes locked onto the young sorcerer who seemed ready to fight. 'I have something sweet in front of me!'
The cursed energy concentrated intensely in his pompadour, his gaze never leaving his target, because he knew if it did, he'd be in trouble.
"Kid, are you going to be enough to fill my stomach?!"
The glow in his pompadour grew even more intense, bright enough to blind Itadori, who squinted in response.
"Show me!"
!
"Granite Blast!"
With an excited shout, a massive burst of cursed energy surged toward his opponent, destruction trailing in its wake.
But faced with such power, Itadori didn't flinch. He simply kept his eyes on the enormous beam barreling toward him.
It was indeed an impressive power, one that could have been fatal to many of his previous opponents.
'But...'
Before the attack could reach him, his body vanished without a trace, the explosion continuing onward to destroy only the environment in its path.
'It's useless if it doesn't hit the target.'
!
Ryu, who had been grinning as he unleashed his devastating attack, immediately went on alert when his cursed energy dispersed.
'Again? But I was sure I kept track of his cursed energy!' He spun around abruptly, his eyes darting everywhere. 'Where is he?'
"Looking for me?"
Before he could react, Ryu's eyes widened as a voice sounded to his side. He turned, but instead of seeing his opponent, he was met with a fist inches from his face.
Bam!
The punch landed squarely, forcing his head back with a force that shook his entire body.
'Terrifying!' Ryu thought, retreating quickly and raising his defenses, ignoring the blood streaming from his nose like a waterfall. 'I can't take my eyes off him for even a second!'
Itadori, watching his opponent retreat, closed the gap with incredibly fast steps that even confused the reincarnated sorcerer.
'How does he move so fast?! It's like he's gliding over the ground!'
Gritting his teeth, Ryu barely managed to block a punch aimed at his face. But the impact was still powerful enough to shake his body, leaving him even more astonished.
'This kid has surprised me four times already!' He tried to back away, but Itadori didn't let him, pursuing him with a flurry of attacks that Ryu struggled to block. 'What are they feeding people in this era?!'
Bam!
Blocking a high kick, Ryu wasn't fast enough to lower his guard in time, and a punch landed on his already injured abdomen with enough force to send a wave of pain through his body.
'Damn, I need to get some distance!'
With a push from his legs, he leapt back several meters, cursed energy glowing in his pompadour almost instantly.
"Uh?"
But just as he was about to fire his attack, he was shocked to find the boy already in front of him, grabbing his hair and pulling his face down.
Boom!
An explosion erupted as his face hit the ground, the impact of his own attack leaving him momentarily disoriented as he pushed himself up with a burst of energy.
"How crafty..." He hadn't gathered enough energy for the attack to cause serious harm, so aside from a few scattered cuts across his face, he seemed relatively fine. "You're really impressive, kid!"
Itadori, who had patiently waited for the sorcerer to get back up, watched him with a dispassionate look. "Do you really want to keep going? Are you really going to waste your second chance like this?"
His question was genuine. As much as Itadori wanted to focus on his objective, he was willing to give Ryu a chance.
Throwing away a second chance at life just for the thrill of a fight? Itadori enjoyed the sensation of battle too, and even though Ryu was a reincarnated soul from another era, he couldn't see the sense in it.
He understood that the value of life might hold a different meaning for Ryu, but it still irritated him to see someone throw their life away so recklessly...
Then again, these were his own thoughts. Others could think differently. The rush of adrenaline could be tempting for many, after all.
Perhaps he was being a bit hypocritical. After all, at the start of it all, he had chosen to risk his second chance at life for people who, only days before, had been fictional characters in his eyes...
Even if he hadn't had much choice in the matter.
"Wasting it?" Ryu, confronted by the question, rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I wouldn't say I'm wasting it. I lived a peaceful life before I died. I met a beautiful woman, had kids, and died comfortably in my bed."
Pulling a comb from his pocket, he began straightening his disheveled pompadour caused by the explosion. "In fact, I think it would be a waste not to keep going. After all, the only reason I chose to reincarnate was because, during my past life, I only faced modest opponents who could never fill my stomach.
"So what if I die? I have no regrets, so I don't need to cling so tightly to this second life."
Itadori blinked, clearly surprised by the profound words that betrayed this man's cocky appearance.
That was... quite reflective. A different way of seeing things.
It made him understand what drove his opponent.
"I see..." Itadori nodded, cracking his knuckles as cursed energy erupted from his body like intense flames. "If that's the case, then I won't hold back."
Ryu flashed a toothy grin, pocketing his comb as cursed energy began radiating around him in excitement. "That's what I wanted to hear!"
If a good meal was what Ryu wanted, Itadori would humbly provide him a banquet.
Taking a step forward, Ryu moved his arms in a stylish manner as cursed energy concentrated on his pompadour.
And there would even be dessert!
Boom!
The cursed energy split into numerous beams that shot toward Itadori, the young sorcerer deftly evading the attacks as he closed the distance.
"Hahaha! This is amazing!"
Ryu laughed as the boy dodged his attacks with ease, his body glowing with cursed energy that bolstered every muscle.
'Here he comes!'
Preparing himself, he smiled as Itadori charged at him like an unstoppable bull.
Bam!
When the two collided, Ryu was pushed back slightly as he blocked a punch from the boy. His eyes struggled to keep up as he was bombarded by a flurry of attacks coming from every direction.
'Damn it! He's too fast!' He found himself cornered, his arms moving almost randomly as he tried to block the punches flying at him. 'My best chance is to keep my distance!'
Cursed energy gathered in his fist as he continued to struggle against the relentless assault, his opponent's attacks landing on his face repeatedly.
'Now!'
Fighting the urge to vomit after a punch landed squarely on his stomach, Ryu seized the opportunity, launching his cursed energy-charged fist toward Itadori's face in near desperation.
Swoosh!
But just before it could connect, his eyes widened in shock as a sharp pain shot through his leg, his stance collapsing beneath him.
'What was that?' He glanced down to see a deep gash burning above his knee. 'How... How did that happen?!'
"I told you, didn't I?"
Ryu blinked as his opponent's voice rang out. Lifting his head, he was met with those same predatory eyes staring him down.
"That I wouldn't hold back anymore."
"..."
Ryu swallowed hard. He hadn't realized it before, but now he could see clearly.
He had truly gotten himself into a dangerous situation.
For some reason, Webnovel decided that the previous cover was too explicit and left the story without a cover for a week. Strange when there are much worse covers out there.
I'd also like to thank Helios, it was he who gave me the idea for the name of Ryu's domain.

_______________________________________________________________________________
It was a huge and considerably deep cut. Unlike an ugly slash from a blade, however, it had burned his flesh so intensely that it left it charred.
Ryu quickly realized the severity of the wound as he glanced at the injury on his thigh. It was an unusual wound, something he had never experienced before.
Many might assume that the lack of bleeding made the injury less dangerous, but Ryu could declare with absolute certainty that this was far from the truth. Not only was it deep, but the burned flesh sent jolts of pain through him that even the adrenaline coursing through his body couldn't dull.
Additionally, unlike a normal wound, his reverse cursed energy, already slow to act, would have an even harder time healing a charred cut.
It was, in fact, a truly precarious situation. He was at a complete disadvantage against this opponent.
But...
"Haha..." He let out a laugh, struggling slightly as he rose to his feet with his injured leg, his superior stature leaving him a few inches taller than Itadori.
This was far from enough to make Ryu back down.
He was a reincarnated sorcerer, after all!
"Ready to continue?" he asked with a toothy grin.
But Itadori, raising an eyebrow, let out a small laugh as he shook his head. He could hardly believe the confidence of the man standing before him.
"I should be the one asking that..." For the first time in this battle, Itadori cracked a smile as he turned to face his opponent. "Are you ready, sorcerer?"
Boom!
With a shockwave exploding between them as their fists collided, both sorcerers were pushed back. Ryu squinted as he noticed his fist was now covered in hot slashes that cut into his flesh.
"Slashes? Is that his technique?" he wondered, channeling reverse cursed energy into his hand as he turned to see Itadori charging at him. "Damn, how much resilience does this kid have?!"
His toothy grin widened from ear to ear, cursed energy exploding from his body as he braced himself for combat.
"Come on—"
Swoosh!
Inviting Itadori closer, his eyes widened as an intense heat flew toward him, his body being pushed back as a massive slash opened from his chest to his shoulder.
"Damn." Ryu retreated with an explosion of cursed energy at his feet, immediately channeling his reverse cursed energy into the new wound. "I thought he needed to be close to use those slashes!"
The ancient sorcerer gritted his teeth as the burning sensation coursed through his body. Continuing to retreat, he observed as Itadori simply stood and stared at him.
"I need to keep my distance, or I'll end up as minced Ryu!" he thought playfully, despite the precarious situation he found himself in.
But just as he was about to leap onto a building to gain some altitude, his eyes widened in shock as Itadori vanished from his sight.
"What the hell? There's no way that's just pure speed!" He scanned the area urgently.
!
Even in his heightened state of alertness, he failed to notice Itadori appearing behind him, his fist glowing with cursed energy as it shot toward Ryu's back like a bullet.
"Black Flash!"
Caught off guard by the attack, Ryu was unable to defend himself adequately, his body sent flying as blood spilled from his mouth.
"Direct hit." The black electricity crackled momentarily around Itadori's fist before dissipating entirely. "That was a tough blow. Even if he manages to get back up, I doubt he'll be able to keep fighting."
He commented, not with disdain or arrogance, but with genuine admiration. It was impressive how durable Ryu was, considering Itadori had intended to cut the sorcerer in two, and yet he still endured.
Surviving a barrage of Itadori's punches wasn't something to scoff at either. By this point, Itadori felt confident he could take down a perfected Mahito with just his fists.
The thought made him curious about Ryu's true level.
If the ancient sorcerer faced Jogo, Dagon, and Mahito simultaneously, how far could he go?
Itadori had a guess, but it depended entirely on how the curses fought. If they opened with their Domain Expansions, Ryu would undoubtedly dominate.
But if the curses alternated until they trapped him in a domain, Ryu would undoubtedly be in trouble...
It was an interesting scenario to imagine.
"Oof, that hurt like hell..."
Itadori's thoughts were interrupted as he heard his opponent's voice. Ryu was struggling to stand, the blood dripping from his mouth staining the ground below—a clear sign of internal damage.
"That was overkill..." Ryu complained as he finally managed to stand upright, his vision slightly blurry from the impact that had shaken his brain. "There are some real monsters in this era, huh?"
He turned to Itadori, who responded with a nod.
"I see, I see." Ryu rubbed his head, letting out a sigh. "If that's the case, I guess I'll have to give it my all, or I'll end up dead at the hands of a prodigy."
Cursed energy exploded from his body before concentrating in the fist he pressed firmly against his chest.
"Hey, it's not like I care about dying, it's just that..."
Itadori narrowed his eyes in response, his hands rising in anticipation.
"Taking a beating from someone not even a third of your age twice in a row might bruise anyone's pride."
Once again, Ryu's cursed energy erupted in all directions. Itadori quickly recognized his intentions and brought his hands together as the ancient sorcerer did the same.
"Domain Expansion///Domain Expansion!"
The barriers of the two clashed as they chanted, the powerful domain struggle sending cursed energy rippling in all directions.
"Starving Laser Banquet!///Hunting Territory!"
The clash intensified, neither gaining the upper hand as they continued forcing their techniques to activate.
Ryu was surprised, realizing through the course of this struggle that this kid's domain was as refined as his own! Being able to expand a domain at such a young age was impressive enough, but honing it to rival an experienced sorcerer's?
"Damn, I'll have to ask again..."
His smile faltered as he felt the barrier around them tremble—a sign that the clash was reaching its conclusion.
"What are they feeding these kids?!"
Boom!
The barrier imploded as neither managed to overpower the other. Ryu's grin widened as he saw his opponent turn toward him with a cautious gaze.
"Alright, that didn't go as expected..." Ryu chuckled, his body propelling toward Itadori like a bullet. "But this is an even more favorable situation!"
Unlike other sorcerers, whose cursed energy output and techniques were affected by the toll of a domain expansion, Ryu was a rare case.
He was a sorcerer who could release the same amount of cursed energy whether he used a technique or not!
"Take this, kid!"
Itadori's eyes widened as he noticed the glow in Ryu's pompadour, raising his arms just in time as a powerful beam struck him directly.
Boom!
His body was flung backward, but before he could go any further, his fingers dug into a wall, halting his momentum abruptly as the structure crumbled.
"That was close..." Itadori sighed, glancing at his arms to see steam rising from them, some injuries visible from taking the attack head-on. "But it was impressive, I can't deny that."
Shaking his arms to shake off the pain, he turned forward to see Ryu charging toward him again.
"I doubt anyone else could maintain such a strong cursed energy output right after using a domain..." Itadori smiled, taking a stance as he cracked his fists. "This guy is full of surprises!"
Bam!
As soon as Ryu reached him, Itadori immediately lowered his guard to block a punch to his stomach. But upon receiving the attack, he was surprised as an explosion of cursed energy accompanied the blow. "Explosive punches!"
Itadori gritted his teeth as the damage pierced through his defenses, further injuring his arms. Yet he didn't back down, grabbing Ryu's shoulder and pulling him down to land a knee strike.
"I'm almost full, kid!" Ryu shouted with a bloody grin, kicking only to have his attack blocked. His cursed energy glowed in his pompadour once more. "So let's move on to dessert already!"
The cursed energy shot out, but Itadori was no longer there, having anticipated the attack and moved out of the way in time to evade the powerful blast.
"Tsk- Ah!"
Bam!
Ryu attempted to click his tongue, but a powerful elbow strike to his jaw caused him to bite his own tongue, his eyes filling with irritation as he retaliated with a punch.
"Uh?"
But just as he thought his blow was about to land, he was stunned when Itadori ducked under his arm at the last second.
Bam!
His eyes widened as a powerful fist slammed into his already-injured rib, making Ryu choke on his own blood. His gaze shifted downward to meet those predatory eyes once again.
'This kid…'
Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!
Frozen by the pain, he couldn't defend himself properly as a flurry of relentless attacks rained down on his body. His feet slid backward under the force of Itadori's ferocious blows as he struggled to regain his footing.
'Thank you…'
"Black…"
As he was pushed back by a kick, his eyes caught the cursed energy glowing around his opponent's fist, and a satisfied grin spread across his lips.
'I'm full now.'
"Flash!"
Boom!
Black lightning flared with blinding intensity, spreading in all directions as Itadori's fist connected with Ryu's stomach. The reincarnated sorcerer's body was driven into the ground with such force that it caused tremors throughout the block.
"…"
Standing victoriously over Ryu's battered form, Itadori observed the defeated sorcerer in silence.
It had been a great fight, Itadori had to admit. Ryu was truly strong, and if it had been the Itadori from a few months ago, he was certain he would've been utterly defeated.
But unfortunately for Ryu, the current Itadori was a force to be reckoned with—a young sorcerer whose potential many would consider limitless.
He was the worst possible matchup for Ryu.
"…"
Itadori watched Ryu's chest rise and fall in faint, almost imperceptible motions—a sign that he was still alive, though barely hanging on.
"You're really tough, man." Letting out a soft chuckle, Itadori stepped away from Ryu's prone body. "I don't know if you'll survive this, so consider it an act of mercy.
I know you're not attached to this life, but this was fun. So, if you somehow manage to survive…"
Turning back to look at Ryu, who struggled to breathe, Itadori waved farewell. "Let's meet again!"
"…"
Just as he was about to leave, Itadori stopped, as if remembering something. "Oh… and your pompadour is cool!"
"…!"
Ryu's body trembled, as if reacting to those words.
This brought a smile to Itadori's face, and with that, he finally left the battlefield for good.
This time, determined to head toward his objective without further interruptions.
"…"
Meanwhile, as the young sorcerer moved through the city, not far from there, a beautiful woman, devoid of clothing but strangely shrouded so her intimate parts could not be seen, had been observing the entire fight. Her black eyes never wavered, and her body floated as high as the tallest building in the colony.
The battle had been intriguing, as she was well aware of Ryu's strength.
It excited her, and she couldn't stop her eyes from following the young man who had beaten Ryu down, her interest piqued.
Unlike Yuta, whom she had faced not long ago, this boy was different.
Even from a distance, she could sense how relentless he was, his oppressive fighting style undeniable.
Finding sorcerers in this era who could radiate such dominance was truly rare!
"Kogane! Who is that boy?"
Uro touched her lips thoughtfully as Kogane appeared, her gaze never leaving the boy who continued moving forward, even as the shikigami began revealing what it knew.
"Interesting…"
