Chapitre 51: Chapter 51

"Oi, Oi," Ginryu called out to Yasuhiro, who was wallowing in self-pity.

Yasuhiro, crying while lost in his thoughts, was startled by the sound.

He couldn't move his body freely to see who was speaking to him, which made the situation all the more eerie for him.

It then dawned on him that he had sought help from a group of people he had seen camping nearby while he was fleeing.

As he focused more on his surroundings, Yasuhiro noticed the rising sun, signaling the end of the game that Tsukiko had initiated.

The absurdity of the situation overwhelmed him, as he had succumbed to unconsciousness, only to awaken and find himself still alive.

Countless questions swirled in his mind, particularly about how the group had managed to thwart the demon that had been hunting him, yet he couldn't muster the courage to voice such inquiries.

The realization that his plea for help had endangered Ginryu's group now weighed heavily on Yasuhiro.

The guilt of potentially putting others in harm's way, especially after the tragedy that had befallen his family, drove him further into despair.

His mind couldn't endure adding more blood on his hands.

"I am sorry, I am so sorry, thank you, thank you," Yasuhiro repeated, managing to muster the strength to crawl on his knees.

With his head bowed in a mix of apology and gratitude, he felt unworthy of knowing how he had survived.

His primary focus was on expressing remorse for jeopardizing his rescuers and thanking them for their intervention.

"Uhm, I accept your apology I guess," Ginryu replied.

'I have no idea what this man is apologizing for but whatever,' Ginryu thought.

They were about to leave and were contemplating what to do with him before he suddenly woke up and started crying.

"I don't know what your story is but we're about to resume our journey. Do you have anywhere along our route you want us to drop you?" Ginryu asked.

Yasuhiro was a bit shocked at Ginryu's question because the normal reaction of a person would be to ask what happened but Ginryu's question made it seem like he wanted to just get rid of him.

Inuchiyo and Goemon looked like they wanted to say something but just kept quiet.

"I…" Yasuhiro didn't really have a response. He was moving with his family to a new town but that said family were all killed in one night.

He didn't know what to do nor did he have anywhere to go. He couldn't return back to his parents or his wife parents either.

What was he going to tell them. Their daughter was dead and so were their grandchildren.

He remembered his father warned him about moving at such a time due to ongoing conflicts between feudal lords.

He thought that because he could wield a blade, everything would be fine.

He could deal with bandits just fine with it he thought, but fate had played him a dirty hand, he had run into a demon instead.

His mind was currently still a mess and the last thing he wanted was to be alone.

He felt as though he would end up doing something stupid if left alone.

He couldn't ask if they would let him follow them, even he realized that he was a stranger to them and had nothing to offer, if anything he was just extra baggage to his rescuers.

'Perhaps I should just end it all here,' Yasuhiro strongly pondered.

'What would a one-armed broken coward like myself even do from here on,' he thought.

It wasn't hard for Inuchiyo and Goemon to piece together Yasuhiro's story based on what they had seen.

They both looked at Ginryu with pleading gazes, wanting him to do something.

'Tsk, why are they looking at me like that? There are so many people with sobs stories like this man everywhere,' Ginryu thought.

"Sigh, well if you don't have any plans, you can come with us for now. I need you to pay off your treatment bills anyway," Ginryu hesitantly offered.

He planned to dump Yasuhiro in the demon slayer corps after some recovery and training from Yoriichi he thought.

Yasuhiro looked like he was in his mid to late twenties anyway. Even with one arm, with decent training, he could be useful in some way.

"I…, thank you very much," Yasuhiro replied, bowing once more. With all that settled, they all boarded the cart and resumed their journey.

They didn't care about the conversation; it was Ginryu's decision anyway.

Yang was more concerned with Yin who smugly slept on Ginryu's shoulder.

To console himself, he climbed onto Inuchiyo's shoulder.

Tora tried to imitate the same thing with Goemon but sadly he was too chubby and inflexible to pull off such a stunt.

So he found other ways to amuse himself.

As the journey transpired with Ginryu at the front guiding the horses, Inuchiyo and Goemon tried making some small talk with Yasuhiro, but Yasuhiro seemed hollow and unresponsive.

It took a while but Yasuhiro eventually mustered the courage to share his story, enabling the girls to learn about what exactly happened to him.

They also talked about other topics while being careful not to divulge too much about themselves.

Ginryu just tuned them out while thinking of Hikaru and Hikari's reaction when they saw him.

Just like that time seemed to trickle away. Soon they were in front of Ginryu's house in the early evening.

Knocking at the gate, Ginryu got no response.

'Huh, the servants should still be around,' Ginryu pondered. Pushing the gate, it opened up, meaning that it wasn't locked from the inside.

Upon passing through the gate of the manor, Ginryu couldn't see anyone at the front.

'Odd, no one in the front, maybe they are in the back,' he thought. Tora and Yang hopped off the carriage and went into the manor.

Ginryu just walked back to the carriage and guided it into the manor.

He then instructed Inuchiyo to carry Yasuhiro who had fallen asleep again into the house, but before he could finish speaking, he heard his name.

"Gin," Hikaru and Hikari both called out to him in unison while smiling happily.

Then they suddenly started sprinting towards him with arms open wide for a hug.

Just when they were a few steps away from him, they both pulled out the wooden swords they had strapped on their waist.

With full force, they swung their swords in a swift blurry dance, aiming for Ginryu's head.

"Sun breathing style, First form: Dance," the twins yelled in unison.

With insanely fast reactions, Inuchiyo and Goemon instantly appeared in front of Ginryu ready to block the attack while wielding a spear and Kunai.
