Chapitre 30: Encounter

Phoenix was working out in his gym. He was taking a day off as well as Scarmerine. Vina came into the gym and said,

"Do you ever think about anything other than fighting and working out? Not only that, you raised your brother just like your mirror image."

Phoenix stopped what he was doing and asked her,

"What is it with you? Just tell me the matter and leave. This is my day off."

Vina looked at him. She didn't expect anything else than a reply like that. She looked around like she was searching for someone. She asked,

"Where is Scar?"

That time she heard a sound from so close behind her and became shocked,

"I'm where you least expect me."

She suddenly turned around and put her hand on her own chest. She hit him and said,

"Don't scare me like that."

Scarmerine laughed. After seeing them both she said,

"You both are suspended. This is the paper."

She showed an envelope. Scarmerine become amazed and asked,

"Are we getting suspended for farting?"

Vina nodded in disagreement. She said,

"No! you're getting suspended for releasing toxic gas in the basement."

Phoenix started laughing and said,

"Well that's good. It means we can take a rest for fourteen days."

Scarmerine's face widened in happiness. He was about to say something but suddenly Vina intervened. She said,

"Not so fast you bull's you both are suspended from your day off. Now get back to work. This is your punishment today."

Phee and Scar become disappointed and they take the envelope. She left and Phee opened the envelope. It was a map, the location that marked was the haunted house that John was investigating in the sterling town. They didn't waste a moment, they quickly went there.

Father Sebastian called a thug who was working for him. He told them to come to that place and get rid of John. Father Sebastian knew hand to hand combat might be futile. So he told the guy to bring snipers along with him.

The gang members came there quickly. They were all armed but father Sebastian told them not to use guns that It would bring too much attention. He was planning to take him out by the sniper.

The gangsters took out some tools to attack John. Natasha as in Priya's body came infront to get ready for a fight. But John stopped her and told her not to use powers in Priya's body. Besides, he wanted her to protect Donna.

Natasha walked towards Donna and stood in front of her. John was actually happy to get a chance to fight after a long time. They started attacking simultaneously. But John was skilled enough to evade them perfectly. The gangsters become so angry because they couldn't defeat a child. Yet again they weren't even able to touch him.

John started fighting back. But there were too many of them. Still he managed to hold up against them. Within minutes more vehicles started coming and there were too many gangsters coming to support the first team. It seemed like father Sebastian was ready for anything. The newcomers opened one of the vehicles in the back and took a weapon that looked like a grenade launcher.

The others moved aside and the ones with the weapon fired it without any warning. It was an ultrasonic weapon. It blasted a sound wave which blew John away. He hit the ground. Natasha was getting too impatient to jump in but Donna was trying to get to him so Natasha stopped her and stood behind.

They recharged the weapon to fire again but something like a shuriken hit it and the weapon exploded. John was trying to get up but the injury was severe. With faintly opened eyes he saw someone standing in front of him.

Slowly his vision became more clear and he saw Phoenix was standing in front of him. While this all was happening the snipers were setting up their weapons and they tried to get a perfect shot. They got special instructions to get a clear view, make a perfect shot and make sure he's dead. The moment John hit the ground they pointed their gun and pulled the trigger.

But nothing happened. There were a total of five snipers. None of them worked even after pulling the trigger. They checked their weapons but it was all fine. Suddenly one of them felt as if someone was watching him. He looked behind and saw Scarmerine was standing behind him. All the five of them saw him standing beside them or behind them simultaneously.

Scarmerine defeated them in a second and then he headed towards the place where Phoenix was standing. Phoenix stood in front of John and he looked at John. He made sure that John wasn't injured. That time Father Sebastian told the gangsters to attack the newcomer. Phoenix turned and looked into Father Sebastian's eyes. Father Sebastian started shivering by seeing Phoenix's eyes. He said,

"You… I know you. You are the devil."

Father Sebastian said that, like he knows Phoenix and he recognised him just by seeing his eyes. Because Phoenix and Scarmerine were still wearing their outfit to hide their identities.

Father Sebastian became scared and got into the car. He quickly drove out of the scene. He even forgot to take father Jacob with him. Father Jacob was hiding behind the house. He was scared to get involved in this matter. He ran behind the car but father Sebastian drove off.

Natasha and Donna helped John to get up. Phoenix laughed and said,

"Oh John! This is the second time we had to save your ass today. You are getting lazy these days. Don't forget the offer I gave you. It is still intact."

John nodded his head like he disagreed. Phoenix turned around and walked towards the gangsters. The gangsters felt something was wrong because watching father Sebastian run like that made them feel uneasy. But before they could even decide what to do, Scarmerine came in and took them down. Phoenix was about to start attacking them but Scarmerine intervening like that made him angry. He said,

"They were my Target. What do you think you are doing? This is not your game to get more K/D ratio for each person you took down. They were my target's"

Scarmerine laughed and said,

"If there is no K/D ratio then why do you have to worry about taking them down. Just stop acting like a child."

Phoenix and Scarmerine were going to start another fight. That time phoenix walked towards priya and put his hand on her head. He pulled out Natasha. He asked,

"Why do you keep getting stuck inside other people?"

Natasha looked at Phoenix and she didn't had an answer. That time John asked,

"How are you guys able to pull her out?"

Scarmerine came to him and said,

"You didn't take the offer. If you did then you didn't have to be asked that.

Priya was unconscious and Donna took care of her. Donna seemed so kind to even an unknown woman. Natasha came to John and asked,

"What was their offer?"

John looked at her, he looked at her like he was saying 'later'. She understood the meaning of that look. Phoenix and Scarmerine had already vanished from their sight.

John waited for Priya to wake up. She woke up after a while and started asking what happened to her. Natasha started laughing a foolish laugh. John made a call to Dan and he came there to arrest all the gangsters. He specifically mentioned that he cannot arrest father Sebastian right away. But John told him not to involve father Sebastian's name in the case or the name of the church will be in the dirt.

After all that he decided to take Priya to the church. He forced Donna to go back to her house. John opened his backpack and pulled out a bottle of holy water. He drank it a little and then he started chanting and walking around the house. He was dropping a little of the water all around the house. Then he bound his holy book on the door of that house.

He went to Ben's house. Everyone was scared to come out because they all heard of father Sebastian. John told Ben to tell everyone not to go to that house or touch that holy book. Ben nodded in agreement.

Then he along with Priya and Natasha went back to the church. On the way he stopped his vehicle and said,

"Priya. You know about the house right. You're telling me your truth. Now I'm going to tell you something about myself. It's not like I know if it's true or I know if it's a secret. All I know is, I met two guys a long time ago. A year ago they told me something. Something about my life. Something about my birth. I don't even know their real names. They told me their names were Phoenix and Scarmerine. Nat knows about them but it seemed like she also forgot about them."

Priya was curious about what he's about to say. Natasha also waited for him to say it. He continued,

"They said I'm not an exorcist but an energy being."
