Chapitre 55: New Students
Alice went to visit Pinoy's room. It was the last week of summer break, and Pinoy was packing up all his stuff to leave the campus. Alice went there with a sad expression, ready to hug Pinoy goodbye.
"Pinoy, thank you for being my friend. I'll miss you."
"I'm not going."
"And as much as it will hurt me to see you go, I promise, I'll al-... wait, what?"
"I'm not leaving the school. I had a conversation with Yoshi and after that, I decided to stay. Apparently, I'm really good at making weapons and gear with crystos and it pays pretty well. As an orphan with no clear goals in life or other family connections, this is a pretty nice option."
"I-I don't know what to say. What did Yoshi say to you."
"That's a secret between us guys."
"Well, I'm just glad you're staying." Alice jumped on Pinoy's small body and hugged him tightly. But since he was so short, his head was at the same level as her breasts and his face was being smothered by them. They were too big and they began to suffocate Pinoy. "Get your fat cow parts out my face!" Pinoy ended up pushing Alice off of him and gasped for air.
"Ok, geez. Didn't know you were so resistant to hugs."
"A-Are you dumb?"
Alice couldn't help but chuckle. "Still the same old Pinoy. Glad you're staying with us though. I would hate to lose another friend."
Pinoy blushed at her words and turned away from her. "You idiots. Yoshi said the same thing. Geez you two are stupid." he said while folding his arms.
"I think you like us."
"No, I don't!"
Alice giggles. "Alright, well, if that's the case. I'll be off then. But make sure you come to the field tomorrow. We have new students joining us for our senior year."
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever."
"Oh, also, can you help me? I'd like to make some upgrades for me and Yoshi."
"Huh?"
The next day, Alice, Yoshi, and Pinoy all headed to the Principal's office. They met up with Vice Principal, Shimoki Kaze. There, Kaze walked in four new people. Kaze introduced them as Kierse-san, Coffee-san, Sylvie-san, and Sybil-san. And they were the new 4th years that would be joining Yoshi's team.
Yoshi recognized Sybil and Sylvie. Then, he remembered Sylvie told him she'd join Skyfall Dance. The atmosphere was incredibly awkward for all of them. None of them knew how to start a conversation. Then, suddenly a portal opened up in the middle of the room with them. She walked in Taiyo. She wore a skimpy triking swimsuit. She also had several designer bags on her arm and a massive pair of sunglasses.
"Yo, what's poppin'?"
"Where the hell did you go?" asked Pinoy.
"I went to a beach in San Francisco. It was dirty but pretty fun. They had so many zenith-class anomalies, which makes sense. The US is one of the biggest hot pots for keeper and anomaly behavior. Anyways, I can see you met your new squad mates already. Anyways, I need to get to the point, no morning wood. I thought it would be a valuable social experiment to have you guys fight in small mock battles. It would help you get to know each other well. Are you kids fine with that?"
"I'm fine with whatever," Sylvie replied.
"Ooh, a fight! Count me in! You ready for a rodeo?" asked Sybil aggressively.
"Don't go overboard now." Kierse told to Sybil.
"U-Uh... if they're ok with it, then I'm good too." Coffee shyly commented.
"Before we get started, I have a question." said Alice.
"Ok, fire away like it's the trench warfare."
"Why are so such an annoying bitch?"
The room fell into immediate silence. Yoshi, Pinoy, and even Sylvie struggled to hold back their laughter. Taiyo was a little thrown off by her comment and Kaze hid behind his desk.
"Damn, do you really hate me that muc-"
"Yes." Alice replied before Taiyo finished speaking.
"Well, makes sense. I did just let your friend die and let you suffer in life just because I was too lazy to help you. But can you really blame m-"
"Yes." Alice once again said while cutting her off.
"Alright, how about we dual first then? It would be a great way to show off your power to your new classmates. And, maybe you'll learn a thing for two from fighting me."
"... Alright fine."
"Alice, are you sure this is a good idea? asked Pinoy.
"Don't worry, Pinoy. I'll be fine."
The 8 of them went outside and sat on a bench as Alice and Taiyo stood off together.
"Who do you think will win, hun?" asked Sybil to Yoshi.
"Uh..."
"Oh come now, sugar. I'm just trying to make a little small talk. Do you really not remember me?"
"No, of course I do. You're the girl I met at the beach. I knew you were coming, but I still wasn't prepared for it."
"Wait, when did you two meet?" asked Kierse.
"We spared together."
"Oh, really. Did Sybil attack you when you didn't want her, too?"
"Y-Yeah, kinda."
"Y-Yeah, sorry about that, man. She's a bit of a battle junkie."
"Well, she did help me, so I hold no grudge."
"Wow, Sybil." said Sylvie. "Looks like you actually did something good for once in your lif-"
Suddenly, the conversation between the 4 was stopped by a massive explosion on the field. They looked back and saw Alice and Taiyo going back and forth with attacks that were strong enough to destroy the continent.
Taiyo knocked Alice back, but Alice quickly regained her footing, spinning with a tatsumaki kick that struck Taiyo's head. But unlike everything from before, Alice's attacks were actually doing something to her. Taiyo was actually forced to block Alice's attacks. She wasn't just on the zenith class level now, she was on the higher spectrum of them as well.
Alice fired a death orb, which Taiyo teleported out of the way off. She retaliated with an uppercut, but Alice parried it with her arm and structured Taiyo in the gut with her other hand. Taiyo's eyes widened with pain, understanding she couldn't toy with her food. She entered her kitsune keeper form.
She tried to freeze Alice in time, but Alice bit into her shoulder before she could raise her arm. Alice then lifted Taiyo off the ground with her teeth and threw her several meters away.
Taiyo started to look genuinely angry. Alice fired forth a null ball at Taiyo, nearly taking her head off.
"You're not just trying to spar, are you, Alice? You genuinely want to kill me."
"I do."
"Is that so..."
Taiyo disappeared into thin air. Alice started frantically looking around her, searching for her. She sniffed the air and smelt Taiyo reappearing behind her. Before Alice could react, she drove her elbow into Alice's back. Though painful, Alice used this as an opportunity. She wrapped Taiyo arm in her purple scarf and slammed her to the ground. She then took out her scepter and tried to crush Taiyo's head with the spiked ball part but Taiyo once again disappeared, then reappeared in front of her.
Then, with the snap of her fingers, Taiyo froze time itself. Everyone and everything was stuck in place. She then sighed. "Impressive. I didn't think that a bootleg Scooby Doo like you could actually do something, but you actually managed to injure me. I'm impressed. But now, it's time for me, as the teacher, to teach you a lesson."
Taiyo approached Alice and threw a punch at her, but her blow didn't connect. Confused, she tried to take her hand back, but her hand wouldn't move. She became even more confused, but then something nearly made her heart stop in shock. Alice spoke and moved her head. "Do you really think freezing time will stop me from beating your ass?"
Alice then punched Taiyo in the gut so hard, it made her detransform, spew up tons of blood, and resume time. Taiyo tried to get up, but once she looked up, she saw Alice holding a death orb at her face.
"I win."
"How?"
"Yoshi and I trained a lot over the summer. Well, I wasn't in my right mind for most of it, I was still present. I not only learned how to better manifest my death mist, but I also learned that I didn't just have the ability to null matter. Space, time, memories, boundaries, and even life itself can all be nulled by my powers if used right. I don't have the power to do so yet, but I at least now know my potential."
"I-I don't understand..."
Alice dissipates the death mist. "Taiyo, you fool. You grew cocky, and that cockiness made your power stagnant. You were so much stronger than everyone else that you decided to stop training, stop evolving, stop learning, and stop growing from your mistakes. That's why you lost to me here."
"Y-You beat me... n-no, impossible! Not yet, I-"
"Taiyo." A mysterious voice said from behind the two of them. Alice and Taiyo looked at the person with the voice. She had white hair in twin tails and silver eyes. She had soft, delicate skin and was rather tall. She was very cute with a slim and curvy body. She wore a skin-tight white suit with clear components to it.
"Sis?" Taiyo asked confusingly. "What are you doing here?"
"I got complaints from Kaze that you weren't doing your job."
"What are you talking about? I do my job perfectly."
"Throwing your students to the wolves and abusing them isn't how you properly teach."
"That's just my teaching style. It worked when I did it for you."
"I'm sorry, what's going on?" Alice interrupted.
The mysterious woman walked up to Alice and bowed her head. "I deeply apologize for how my sister has treated you for the past year. She's never been very responsible. Which is why Kaze asked me to take over her job."
"What?!" exclaimed Taiyo.
"Actually, it won't just be me. Colette will be helping them learn as well. She has to come all the way from America to fix your screw-ups. Just like old times."
"..."
Taiyo students just stood there and stared at her in silence. They were all surprised that she was allowing herself to be talked to like that. Taiyo clenched her fist and just stomped off like an immature child.
The woman once again bowed to Alice. "Once again, please forgive my sister's actions."
"I'm just... confused."
"Kaze had reported to us that Taiyo had been poorly educating you and was growing increasingly selfish. So, we are replacing her as teacher."
"No, I get that. I mean how Taiyo didn't even try to argue with you."
"She's always been a bit childish. She's the only keeper in history to instantly be ranked zenith class due to her absurd power output. She's never actually undergone proper education herself, which is why she's probably good at teaching. Both me and Colette, who will be replacing Taiyo, are only paradox class, so there's probably not much more we can teach you, but I hope you will cooperate with us. You may refer to me as Maroon."
"S-Sure. Who is Colette?"
"She'll arrive later today."
"I have a question." said Yoshi while walking up to them. "Why did Taiyo even become a teacher if she never received an education?"
"Great question. The simple answer is, she's an idiot. She zenith class, sk no job was unavailable to her, and she thought teachers had life easy."
"Y-You're joking, right?"
"Unfortunately, no. She really is that arrogant and idiotic. Trust me, I'd know. But it's probably for the best that she does go away anyways. After all, she always would have. She couldn't completely her goal if she didn't."
"What goal?"
"That's not my territory to encroach upon. But one day, you will know. That's unfortunately all I can tell you for now."
"I already like you better than Taiyo." replied Alice. c
