Chapitre 11: Dispel
"W-What's an aether class doing here?!"
The moth rose up into the sky. Its wings gleamed beautiful shades of blue, pink, and gold. Then, it let out several blue and pink lasers from its wings at Alice and the rest. They barely had any time to dodge and Pinoy even had one of his kidneys pierced by the lasers, causing him to collapse in excruciating pain. The beams tore through the hill, drowning the environment in ash and cinders.
Alice was hit directly by one of these lasers and was sent flying back into one of the hills, losing consciousness. The last thing she heard was Yoshi scream her name concerningly.
While unconscious, Alice saw another moment from her past. Though, this was a lot more vague. She could only remember key parts of it. But she remembers her father receiving divorce papers from her mother. After that, she never saw her mom again.
Alice woke up again and when she did, the entire hillscape was littered with flames and ash. Yoshi was bruised and bloodied, barely holding on and Belle was on the ground, bleeding out.
Pinoy turned into a bipedal stag beetle. He had four arms and a black carapace. His carapace, and his whole body for that matter, was like steel armor. He also was very skinny, yet very tall and buff with defined muscles. It was his keeper transformation. Even in this, he had a giant hole in his stomach and was barely able to keep fighting. Even Alice herself felt some of her internal organs ruptured as she tried to get up.
The moth beast stayed in the sky since they had a hard time reaching him. They were practically sitting ducks, waiting to get picked off. Yoshi would normally be the only one who could reach him, but he was too weak to transform at this point. If he did, it would most likely kill him.
The anomaly fired down even more beams. Pinoy tried to block them with his chakrams, but the blast was too powerful, and it drove him into the ground, Yoshi tried to dodge one, but it exploded on impact with the ground, sending him tumbling back. Even then, he still got up, despite losing excess amounts of blood.
The moth fired another beam at Yoshi, and this time, he couldn't dodge. The beam was also too strong to block. As it was about to hit him, Alice jumped in front of him and split the beam with her scepter.
"Fucking finally!" snapped Belle angrily.
"H-How was your power nap?" Yoshi asked weakly in a joking tone.
"Obviously too long. You ok?" said Alice looking back at him concerningly.
"I've seen better days."
"Don't push yourself."
"It's not like I have a choice. That thing fires lasers like bullets. They're so fast and powerful. If you get directly hit by one, you're dead."
"So, this is the strength differences between classes... horrifying."
Suddenly, an object went soaring through the sky and hit the anomaly. It created a shockwave and knocked the moth to the ground. It was a chakram Pinoy threw. However, he was detransformed now and his legs were paralyzed.
Pinoy looked over at Alice and turned away. He was very upset with her and she didn't blame him. Instead of trying to get along with them, it seems she just made them hate her now.
"What about you?" Yoshi asked concerningly. "You got hit pretty hard."
The moth began to get back up. He tried to take to the sky again. Alice knew if he did, the fight would be impossible to win. So, she threw her scepter at one of its wings, making the beast flinch. Though, the anomaly recieved no physical damage from the attack, nor from Pinoy's chakram strike. This thing was on a whole other level than the rest of them.
Alice's body shooked with fear as the anomaly stared her down, but she had to keep it on the ground, so she quickly bolted over to it to stop it from spreading its wings. As it was about to take off, she grabbed its right wing with both of her hands and pulled it down to the ground. However, the moth managed to make an escape by spinning its body and throwing Alice off of itself. She landed on the anomaly's back and it took to the skies again. The moth tried to shake her off, making her head spin. As she was losing grip, she plunged her claws into the moth's back. She started tearing up its back and ripped off one of its wings. The moth spun rapidly and eventually threw Alice back to the ground, making them both crash land separately.
Alice got back up, growling and bearing her fangs at the moth. The moth charged into Alice, knocking her to the ground. It used one of its legs to pierce Alice's left thigh, making her scream in pain. The moth then had a giant gaping hole on its face open. It resembled a moth with hundreds of teeth in a circular position.
"Alice!" yelled Yoshi. He threw his katana over to Alice. As she was about to get eaten by the moth, she grabbed the sword and slashed the beast's face. It was the first physical damage the beast received. Alice thought back to what Yoshi's sword does. It manifested the powers of the user as an attribute of the katana. For Yoshi, it gave him the powers of being a water dragon. So, for Alice...
She delivered another slash to the beast's gut, spilling open its insides. She tried to finish it with a stab to the head, but the moth dodged it and pierced Alice through the chest with one of its many legs.
Her eyes widened in pain as she dropped the sword. Her arms gave out and the moth dropped her back onto the ground. For the second time in that fight, Alice fell unconscious. But before she did, she saw something. It was a woman that appeared before her. She smiled back at Alice's fading eyes, and the last thing Alice saw and registered was Taiyo standing before her.
