Miguel drew a crying Gemma to his chest and wrapped his arms around her. "I'm so sorry for what you must have passed through because of what my father did to you," Gemma cried.
"Shh…. it's okay, none of this was your fault. This is not on you. I'm sorry you got caught in the crossfire," Miguel gently rubbed her hair as he spoke.
Gemma pulled away sniffling. "My fath...." She couldn't get any word out as she began crying again.
"Gem….. it's all right." Miguel thumbed her tears away and then kissed her forehead. "Don't blame yourself for something that isn't your fault.
Gemma slowly nodded, allowing Miguel to clean her tears.
And after a while, she said, "I will be spending the night here, I'm sorry for the inconvenience….."
"What on earth are you talking about? This is still your home Gem," he held her gaze as he spoke. "I not only want you to spend this night but every other night. I don't want you to ever leave, I want you back Gem."
