Chapitre 87: Chapter 87 - Beginning The Assault

Now that Lily had finished checking through her gains from the last attack, she was ready to prepare for the next.

Her current plan was simple— she would create a large amount of Hive Units and swarm the base using them. Once she had secured the base and ensured that nothing there proved a threat to her, only then would she personally act.

To do this, she would require a large amount of mass to create enough Units; thankfully, she had been saving for a while now and hadn't used any of the mass she had gained.

Glancing at the current amount of mass she had, she was pleased with the amount.

Free Mass: 54300

She had more than enough to create a large enough swarm to deal with this base and have extra she could use as she pleased later on— naturally, she couldn't use all right now since she wanted to save enough to make a nest in the Savage Lands.

Plus, it would be difficult to transport certain Hive Units across the ocean; as such, she would need to leave them on this land.

Lily nodded to herself, satisfied with the amount of mass she had accumulated and reminiscing about when she had just arrived and struggled to gain mass.

It was time to put them to good use.

Sitting at the center of the abandoned building— on the ground— she began the process of creating the Hive Units. First, she created the Units she would use to break into the base.

The design she chose for these ones was similar to the previous worms she had made. However, she made them twice the size of a normal human in length and large enough to swallow a human whole in thickness.

She also ensured that she provided them with rows upon rows of rotating teeth within their large mouth, allowing them to dig through the solid ground easily, as well as devour people whole if needed.

To further add to their capabilities, she gave them the Harden Skin XGene as well as the Acid Secretion XGene, allowing them to have an increased defense they could use to survive and acid they could use to attack or dig.

Since these were not Scouting Units like the previous worms she had made, but instead Melee Hunting Units, they were much stronger than normal Scouts.

They were naturally more inclined to be able to fight— to hunt— as such, each one took more mass than a normal scout would. Plus, each benefit she granted them took additional mass.

To limit how much she made, she decided to create only 25 of them— and named them the Direworm Units.

Upon confirming how much she wanted to make and how she wanted them to be— she felt the black ooze leaking from her body and taking shape around her.

An almost euphoric feeling coursed through her body as she made them— and she couldn't help but feel pleased with her creation.

But she didn't stop there; those were just the units she was going to use to break into the place and provide support; she needed attackers.

For attacking Units, she decided to create something new; the design she had in mind was an eight-legged creature much like a spider but with a body similar to that of a dog.

To achieve combat capabilities, she decided to add quite a few abilities to them. Namely, Animal Physiology, Reptilian XGene, Werecat XGene, Weredog XGene, Temperature Regulation XGene, Hardened Hair XGene, and Adhesive Touch XGene.

These were perhaps the most abilities she had ever given to a Unit she had made so far— but it was necessary if she wanted to ensure their strength.

And while it would cost a lot to even make one of them— she had enough mass to waste for now.

In the end, she created about 50 of them before she had to stop in order to preserve Mass— and the end result was something that could only be described as nightmare fuel.

They were around the size of an adult dog with eight legs covering their body. They were covered in thick, short hair, just slightly longer than a few inches. Their mouth opened from all four sides rather than just one, looking like a mixture of a dog's mouth and a spider's mouth— inside were rows of teeth and a long tongue.

Lily was satisfied with her creation— they would not only be useful for attacking as they were Melee Hunting Units, but they also possessed a wide range of capabilities that would aid them.

Their looks alone would even play a part in their capabilities.

She decided to create one more type of Unit before she stopped— this time, it would be a unit focused on providing information and scouting, one she could use from above.

The design she went for this time was simple— a bird with a relatively normal size that could blend in with ease. The only outstanding feature she gave it was extra eyes, with a total of 12 eyes located in different locations all over its body.

This would allow her to scout the area much easier and gain an overview of everything happening— she also granted them basic abilities, such as Enhanced Senses and camouflage.

She created around 5 of these Units since they were merely scouting units and wouldn't be involved in the fight directly— plus, she wanted to preserve mass.

Once the Hive Units were ready, she was all set to begin the next phase of her plan— attacking.

So without hesitation, she began, she sent them out to surround the mutant fort and prepare for the assault.

The birds would take to the sky, keep a safe distance, and circle the Fortress from above— the Direworms would use their capabilities and bodies to dig large tunnels under the ground to the Fortress.

From there, the Swarmlings— the name she gave the attacking units— would use the tunnels to enter the base and begin their assault.

With a single thought to command the units— the attack began.
