Everything changed between Sylvie and I since the events of that day. She didn't look at the way she used to, and whenever we locked eyes, she didn't shy away like she always did. I thought things would be a lot better after telling her how I felt, but it seems I had only made things worse.
"Stupid! This is all stupid!" I lamented before flinging the files before me to the floor. Amelie stood still before me, unsure if I was annoyed with the files she had presented me or something else.
"Michael Black asked for you to sign those files—"
"Enough with Michael Black! I don't want to hear that name ever!" I screamed at her, enraged by the fact that I was getting bossed around by the man who had taken the woman I loved away from me. But then again, this was what Sylvia wanted. She wanted me to be mad, she wanted me to go wild over her, to be jealous. It was what she wanted, and it was clearly working.
