Will dropped Sandra off their room. She hastily walked towards the shower. She can still see it, how she had blown a hole open in Victoria's skull, and it made her feel disgusting.
"I need a shower. I feel… wait, is this how you felt at first?" Sandra asked.
Killing someone she knew felt so uncomfortable, even if the one that she killed was someone who deserved everything she got. They were classmates for many years after all.
She couldn't help but think that perhaps killing some stranger instead would've felt slightly better.
"Not to the point where I needed to throw up but… yeah, it feels terrible."
"Do you get used to it? Does it get easier?"
"Yeah, you don't become entirely immune to it, but it does get easier."
'But something tells me you don't want to do it anymore, can't say I blame you.' Will thought.
"...Is this how you felt when you killed Josh?"
Sandra already knew Josh was dead even if Will never told her. If he was still alive he would've attacked the Sun kingdom by now.
Will closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and said.
"No… I didn't feel anything for him. I killed him because I knew if I had spared him I would have regretted it. But you already knew that."
"Yeah… I already knew that."
"Wait, if you were going to kill Victoria anyways, why not let me kill her if it was going to affect you that much?"
"First, I was angry. Second, I didn't think killing Victoria would make me feel so… I don't even know how to describe what I'm feeling. And lastly, I did it so before I killed her she would have a second to believe that she had an actual chance of living, only to be wrong."
"Kinda dark. But I like it since she deserved it."
"Yeah…"
Sandra walked in the shower and closed the doors.
Will lies down on his bed, feeling relieved to know Victoria is dead.
"I didn't even realize I became so powerful I could easily overpower Victoria, she didn't even get a chance to fight back, unlike last time. Can't wait to tell Adaline about this."
"Master!"
A voice could be heard behind the door of the room's entrance;
"What?!" Will shouted.
"Two elves are headed this way on a flying mount?"
"Two elves? Is it midday already?"
Will thought no matter how angry and prideful the elves are, they would never be stupid enough to start a raid with two.
"Midday is not for another three hours, Master. The elves in question are also not carrying weapons but a white flag."
"That's new. I'll check it out… and keep a close eye on Sandra if she leaves the room."
"Yes, Master."
Will disappeared from his room in the blink of an eye…for all of five seconds before he teleported back.
"Golem, which way are the elves coming from?"
"North-east."
"How long until they get here?"
"About half an hour."
"I'll wait it out. This gives me enough time to fix up the damaged golems."
Thirty minutes later...
Adaline and Grace made it back to their kingdom.
"Thanks!" Grace hugged Adaline and ran off to the elves to convince them to abort the raid.
Adaline didn't even get a chance to shrug Grace away from her hug. Feeling tired from all the running around she plopped on the ground and went to sleep.
Grace ran faster than she ever did. She sincerely believed her people would never give up and they would all die if she didn't do anything.
But it was too late. By the time she got there all the elves were gone.
"No, no, no, no!" Grace cried out.
'Will, please spare them! Protect them, Lea! Please!' She prayed to her Goddess for her people's lives.
The Goddess, Lea, was shaking her head in disappointment. She could have impeded the elves from leaving and save their lives, but she did not like to mess with their free will. If they wanted to fight outside of her forest they'd better be prepared to die. But if they were the ones being attacked then she would protect them at all costs.
"I'm sorry, Grace."
Grace heard a beautiful woman's voice, it was a voice she had never heard before but she knew who it was, "Goddess?" Grace said, but there was no response.
Their Goddess never talks to any elf, only to Silvas, the king of the elves, and yet she rarely ever talks to him.
Grace didn't know why but she suddenly started tearing up. She dropped on her hands and knees as she began crying.
Meanwhile…
Two elves made it to the Sun kingdom without any problems. They were flying over the kingdom.
"I don't see Grace or Adaline." Arbor said.
"Me neither."
"Guys, they already went back to the village." Said the voice that was flying beside them.
"Oh," Arbor said feeling relieved, "Good, at least they're- WILL?!"
Surprised, the two men nearly lost their footing on the flying organic creature. They landed safely on the ground
"Hey." Will waved at them. "Arbor, who is this?" Will pointed to Silvas.
"Will? Since when can you speak elven tongue?" Arbor asked, flabbergasted. It's been about two days since he's seen him and Will definitely didn't know how to speak their language.
"I dunno."
"..." Arbor.
Because of the ring Will wore they could understand each other.
{Titanium ring}
{Within the presence of the item all languages can be understood} (was originally a One Piece reference but I changed it to this)
"I'm Silvas. I'm the king of the elves."
"Sup." Will was unfazed, somehow meeting the king of the elves didn't feel that interesting to him.
There was an awkward silence between them for a short while.
"Grace and Adaline are probably already back at the elven kingdom or elven village whatever it's called."
"That's good but that's not all why we came here, Will, we came here to-"
"The raid, right?" Will interrupted Arbor, "I already told Grace I'm only showing mercy to those who retreat, those who continue with the raid will have more holes than Spongebob Squarepants."
"Who?" Arbor asked.
"Hero, I implore you to show mercy to the elves." Silvas stepped up.
"..." Will.
'It feels like I already went through this conversation with Grace earlier today…'
"You want me to show mercy to the ones who want to kill my people?" Will asked.
"Yes."
"Dude…" underneath his mask Will rolled his eyes at him.
"I'm asking you if instead of killing them you can take them as prisoners, that way others won't attack you if they see the number of hostages. After that, we can come to a deal where you let them go and that way we can convince all the elves to never attack you ever again."
'I spared Radix the first time and look where he's at right now…'
"That idea of yours sounds like a good idea… but a waste of time." Will said.
"Pardon?"
"How about this: if they come here, I shoot them, I kill them, and those who retreat will be spared. But if they come back here a second time after not having learned their lesson, I'll shoot them all even if they retreat."
Silvas looked at Arbor, Arbor had no idea what to say.
"You guys are the king and prince of the elves, you guys should be able to convince your own men to retreat!"
"They won't listen after you killed Radix." Arbor added.
"That was purely self defense, and he had it coming."
"Well…"
"Listen, Hero, is there nothing that you want from my kingdom that I could convince you to spare their lives?"
"That depends: do you have anything on you that's worth the lives of 350 elves?"
"I…" Silvas couldn't respond.
"I thought so. You guys should run away unless you want to get caught in the massacre."
"Hero!"
Silvas grabbed onto Will's shoulder.
The sentry-golems on top of the castle wall saw Silvas and they all aimed at him ready to open fire.
Arbor noticed and couldn't help but take a step back.
"What do you think you're doing?" Will looked at Silvas.
"There must be something I can do to convince you to spare my people!" Silvas looked determined.
"You know… there is something you can do for me. Hold on." Will grabbed Silvas's hand, flung it from his shoulder, and teleported back to his kingdom.
Had Will not taken off a single piece of armor before meeting them he would've accidentally broken Silvas's hand by holding onto it.
"It's hard to tell what he's thinking with that mask on." Silvas said.
"I agree. Dad, do you really think you'll be able to convince him to take the elves as prisoners?"
"I hope so. I don't want to bury three hundred of my men in a single day."
"Me neither. Burying Radix is already too much."
A few minutes later Will returned but not empty handed. With his he carried a wooden shelf and placed it on the wall.
The shelf was taller than Will, wide, and made entirely out of wood. The shelf's design had nine perfect squares to place items.
"A shelf?"
Silvas and Arbor were both equally confused.
"It is a shelf. I just made it."
"What do you want me to do with a shelf?" Silvas asked.
"This."
Before Silvas realized it, Will teleported in front of him, grabbed his arms, and flew with his and thrusted Silvas on the shelf.
Silvas felt how Will pushed him back on the shelf and wasn't fighting back. Will used his flying ability to keep pushing him back.
"Dad!" Arbor and Drake tried to hurry over to Silvas but Silvas stretched out his hand towards them telling them to stop.
Arbor and Drake halted in his steps, increasingly worried. Arbor didn't know what to do. Both elves left their weapons behind so Will wouldn't accidentally mistake them for a threat.
'Surely, Will wouldn't kill my dad, right?' Arbor hoped that wouldn't be the case.
"Listen." Will got closer to Silvas's face as he continued to push him back.
"The only reason I am even giving some retreating elves a chance to live is because Grace, your granddaughter, is a friend and asked me to. And also because Arbor and Adaline care for each other. I owe you nothing, absolutely nothing!"
Will backed away from Silvas, the reason he pushed him back so forcefully is because pushing an elf far back on a shelf is on his bucket list.
Arbor could finally catch his breath. While being pushed back by Will did hurt he was more weirded out that Will had brought a shelf and pushed him back there.
"If you really want your people to live you should be able to convince them to retreat."
Will turned to Arbor and said, "take good care of Adaline and Grace."
Will then teleported away. The sentry-golems on top of the castle walls stopped aiming at Silvas.
"Dad." Arbor ran up to check on Silvas.
"I'm fine."
"I really thought he was going to kill you."
"Thankfully he didn't. We need to intercept the elves before it's too late. I don't think we can save them all, but I think we can save most of them."
Both elves had tried to convince the 350 elves to not attack Will, but their desire to avenge Radix and to hurt Will was too great.
Meanwhile, Will decided to use his privilege as a king and ordered everyone in the kingdom to stay indoors for the next few hours with the excuse of a possible raid on their kingdom. And should anybody be seen outside until Will tells them it was safe again, they won't be fed the entire day.
"Will, not that I don't appreciate you doing this for me but isn't this too much?" Sandra said. Looking at herself in a mirror she was wearing a full set of medieval titanium armor with the highest level of enchantments Will could possibly add.
"You've always said it's better to be safe and sorry. Besides I already told you that the elves don't want to kill me, they want to hurt me by killing you and the villagers since, you know, I can't truly die."
Will knew she was still mentally recovering from taking a life, but covering her in armor and keeping her safe was more important to him.
"True. This is much lighter than I thought it would be." Sandra moved around in her armor. "But, Will, are you really going to kill over three hundred elves?"
"I hope not, honestly, but if they want to hurt you or the villagers then I will."
"Master." A golem called out to Will behind the door. "I saw a large number of elves riding on organic creatures and headed this way, they're all carrying weapons. They're also ahead of schedule by one hour."
"So I guess I have less than thirty minutes before they arrive. I have to go. Stay here and please do not go out."
"I know. Take care." Sandra said as she touched his cheek.
She wished she could hug him but taking off and putting on medieval armor was a hassle. And she believes that watching over three hundred elves die would be too gory even for her.
Will teleported on top of his castle wall and sat. Below him were dozens of Incredible and helicopter golems.
"Hey, Golem."
"Yes, Master?" A nearby golem walked towards Will.
There are several golems stationed on top of the walls that were a bit different from other golems. These golems had eyes and wore an enchanted mask that increased the range of their eye-sight further than any other golem. But unlike the other golems they can't see everywhere around them.
"Do you by any chance see those two elves from earlier?"
"You mean the one who you pushed back on a shelf and his son and mount were staring in disbelief?"
"Yes, them."
"I didn't get a good look at every single elf. And the forest is blocking my line of sight."
"Shame. Once they're in sight let me know immediately if you see them."
"Of course, Master."
Will thought of sending a few golems towards the elves and showing them how unmatched they are without their goddess protecting them, perhaps then they would retreat and he wouldn't have to kill them.
But if by any chance Arbor and Silvas are in the group he can't risk killing them.
Will still dislikes the idea of killing but feels fine when he knows he needs to do it.
Ten minutes later…
"Master, the elves are in sight, and they're not advancing anymore."
There are stone watchtowers that are far from the Sun kingdom but are encircling it. The stone watchtowers were created by Will, and each have a golem with a mask to keep a lookout for incoming threats.
"Really? Why not?" Will asked.
"The two elves you mentioned earlier, they're on their flying mount and in front of the large group of elves. They're talking to the elves but I can't make out what they're saying since their backs are turned towards me."
"So Silvas and Arbor are trying to convince them not to attack. What about the vengeful elves, do they look like they're still going to attack or retreat?"
"They're still planning on attacking the Sun kingdom, Master."
"How do you know?"
"They just started screaming something about "avenging Radix" and "everyone must die" and then they flew past Arbor and Silvas."
"What about Silvas and Arbor? What are they doing now?"
"They're in a tussle. The one with the long hair (Silvas) seems incredibly pissed and the other is comforting the other. They just landed on the ground and are in disarray."
"But they're not coming over here, right?"
"No, Master."
"Good, now I don't need to worry about them getting caught in the massacre. The hunger, come out."
A large, humanoid skeletal being appeared floating in front of Will with arms crossed across his chest. It was as if it was stepping on something in the air.
"Didn't know you could fly. Anyways there are some elves coming here, I want you to show them how unmatched they are and make them fear you. Hurt them as much as you can but try not to kill them, but if a few die so be it. Remember, your goal is to make them retreat, not to kill them all unless I order you to."
The Hunger began falling down from the top of the castle with his arms still crossed.
"Wait, it's not able to fly but it can hover in the air?" Will looked down where the Hunger was falling.
*Boom*
A large crater was formed, dust shot out everywhere making it hard to see. And out of the dust the Hunger ran extremely fast with the form of an olympic runner. His speed could be as fast as Adaline's or maybe slightly slower.
"If I were to see something like that running towards me at that speed… Actually, I think I would be too scared to do anything." Will smiled.
Before he realized it the Hunger was already out of his sight. His speed was amazing.
"Keep me updated on what you see."
"Yes, Master."
He didn't know how powerful or useful the Hunger was so this is the perfect opportunity to see. And also he didn't expect the Hunger to reach such a distance without being forcefully summoned back, does that mean he can go anywhere?
Meanwhile, the three hundred and fifty elves were rapidly charging and were about to reach the Sun kingdom.
"Stop!"
The one who was leading the elves, Parum, halted everyone in their steps as he heard something, as if something was running towards them, something big and heavy.
Parum is Radix's adopted brother and he was well liked by many elves but not as much as Radix. Viridis, his son and Radix's nephew would be left behind. Parum couldn't bring his son and risk losing his life despite Viridis really wanting to help avenge Radix.
Parum however didn't mind bringing over three hundred elves to avenge Radix's death.
"Do you hear that?" Parum said. He had better hearing than most elves.
At first the elves couldn't hear it. A few seconds later they heard loud and heavy stomping noises which got closer and louder by the second.
Then they saw it, death itself was charging right at them.
My new book is out "Gamer of the seas" please give it a try. :D
